| Haven't watched many SHAFT shows but Monogatari, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and Madoka take the cake. Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei for the openings especially, those amazing openings |

| I don't like Monogatari from what I've heard/read about it but i'll have to give it a try someday.. Anyway out of all this i've only completed SZS and Madoka, and I'd say I prefer SZS over Madoka. Madoka is really beautiful and heartbreaking, but it isn't a be-all-end-all amazingly entertaining thing. SZS is amazingly entertaining so uhhh ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ |

I highly doubt that Utena and Madoka are similar, knowing Ikuhara. Mai-Hime is similar but overall it's still pretty goddamn different, with it's themes and all. Heck, even Yuuki Yuuna, which was inspired by PMMM, is very different from PMMM being that it feels more SoL and more lighthearted. The only thing now would be Daybreak Illusion, and that was inspired by Madoka as well. Something like Nanoha is more of a "Battle Shounen" show if anything afaik. | I love Monogatari and Madoka. ...But I'm gonna throw my hat for the dark horse Arakawa. Mainly because I feel both the former's are just a tad bit over saturated even though they possess the more interesting narrative. Arakawa takes the quality art style SHAFT is known for and gives it enough backbone of a story to keep you intrigued while not letting it go stale. Every episode feels fresh and both seasons are of rare occurrence where season two lives up and expands more on what the audience enjoys in season one. |
| Monogatari series for me, its not really close either. Even beyond personal taste. Monogatri is SHAFT most influential work, their landmark and a conributing factor in SHAFT popularity. |

| As much as I love the Monogatari series, Madoka, and many of the other shows listed, I still think Pani Poni Dash! is their best show ever. Every time I watch that show, I'm on the floor laughing within the first few minutes. SZS is a close second. Kafka = best girl. |

| Not a single mention of Maria Holic. Makes me sad. Haven't seen enough Shaft productions to make a valid opinion. But I have yet to see a bad Shaft series/Shaft production I didn't enjoy. |
