Yona of the Dawn is adapted almost verbatim so that automatically makes it better than the manga. Same with Witchcraft Works. I hear Rokka was a verbatim adaptation too so that makes 3.

Yeah, same reason I brought up Shokugeki.

It did, for me lol. One cooking battle would take up an entire episode. :/ A lot of the episode would be like "Oh.. the tastiness! I love the texture of this in my mouth... Btw, the Avacado was created in 1900s by the Chinese..."

Lmao.
Usually I was too happy over some other scene while watching it to actually notice how slow they were. It probably feels different when watched week by week too. Don't really know what else I can tell you, though I guess you can try the manga and see if you like how fast/slow it is. IMO Shokugeki works better as an anime, but yeah, opinions vary and all that.

Without that, you've basically killed the whole concept of cooking.

No, I think it's a bit overkill, that's all. It's one of the few shows I actually watch at 1.0x of the speed (because of its glorious OST) so maybe that's why I felt it's slow.

The only one I can say for sure is Hunter x Hunter, since I've read all the chapters of it so far (as well as watched all the episodes of the anime). Togashi took shortcuts in some of the panels and his drawings aren't that good. But I think reading the Chimera Ant arc felt better than watching it.

Death Note anime is probably better than the manga too (another series where I've read all the manga and watched all of the anime). The soundtrack and voice acting just brought it to life, along with moments like Light's hair turning red and L's hair turning blue. It also supposedly has a better ending than the manga.

I want to say Yu Yu Hakusho too, since the anime skipped adapting these unnecessary chapters, and actually showed the fights in the tournament in the last arc (unlike the manga, where they just talked about the fights), but I haven't read all the manga, so I can't be certain of it.

as manga reader, anime is still better in term of medium as long the content is not butchered. the problem is in that. i think there are too many to list TBH.

Mushishi anime is better than its manga mostly due to the atmospheric audio and stunning visuals.
Nodame Cantabile is also better as anime as it perfectly incorporates music while retaining the best parts of the manga.
Usagi Drop is much better than its manga because I'm still salty over manga's second half. The anime also did better portraying Rin and is more relaxing to watch.
Ping Pong the Animation's action flowed much better than the manga, and Wenge's voice was hot.

In the vast majority of cases. However, that's primarily because I for whatever reason find it difficult to enjoy manga as a medium.

I enjoy LN and VN just fine though. I guess I either like to leave lots of space for imagination (text) or little space for imagination (animations), and the middle ground just seems unappealing to me.

Rokka only adapts the first volume so it's incomplete and don't answer questions, ending on a cliffhanger to boot. It's indeed a very faithful adaptation, but you can't say that adapting the prologue of a story is better than the full story...

Honestly? In a lot of ways I enjoyed the Kurobas anime more than the manga, because the matches were in "real time" and felt a lot more intense. That said, there are lots of little comedic moments in the manga that they cut, and even if they weren't important I liked them.

Also the manga's art is horrible for the first fifty chapters or so lol.

well, that's discouraging. I was planning on watching it but get really turned off by unfaithful adaptations. Gonna be a while 'til I actually do it now, considering I'll have to make time for reading the manga as well.

Because it feels better and I feel like most anime are too slow for my thought process or not worthy of my full 20 minutes. I end up liking a show more if I can save more time watching it with a faster pace, anyway so win-win.

Only 3 mangas ive ever read: Tokyo ghoul, death note, World God Only Knows

1. Death note anime was better because the ending was slightly more tolerable

2. World God only knows anime was much better. Voices and animation and music just adds way more to the experience

3. I dont know about root a, but 1st season anime of tokyo ghoul was great and really enjoyed the animation and music

Also. I tried to read Attack on Titan and Akatsuki no Yona after finishing the animes so I can see how the manga compares, and I just couldnt do it. They just cannot compete with their anime counterparts at all. The anime experience is just leagues ahead of the manga experience
