| Some of them are very enjoyable and have someting else other then ecchi to speak off be it characters, world or story or both. Then again many are just complete average or below mindless works. |

| It's a subgenre I don't hate. If the primary genre is to my liking (comedy > Romance> SoL/ Drama > Mystery > Psychological) then a harem subgenre tag is not gonna stop me. Though when it's comedy+harem, usually comedy is the subgenre (or falsely tagged with zero real comedy and only MC falling on boobs) and in those cases I do extra research. The same for romance+harem. |

| They can be a lot of fun if the characters are unusual enough. Date A Live has a great cast. That said, too often the harem aspect is the weakness. The MC is boring and it leaves the writers with nothing to do. |

| Definitely a case of "Hate the player (series), not the game (genre)." There are some I like and others I detest, so I can't give an absolute statement on the genre. |
| They can be good but most harems are just average, not good enough comedy, not good enough ecchi, not good enough characters, story, etc. Most are quite similar to each other, but the genre itself has potential. |

| Love harem series, since I get to see a lot of characters and how more how better in my opinion and of course they need to be awesome. I really love roman/ecchi so harem is smth that needs to be in the anime, but I don't mind if an anime doesn't have it :P. |

| They aren't as enjoyable to watch anymore. I prefer not watching harem as much, but some of them are interesting. I also prefer it when a the mc actually chooses someone in the end too. If there's too much ecchi, it bothers me too, but that's for another discussion~ |

| I can't stand harem endings so I keep away from the genre in general. I don't understand the appeal of harem endings...I'd rather have my least favorite girl win than have nobody win, because at least there is closure. When there is a harem ending I feel like I wasted my time with an incomplete story. |

| The problem is they can easily get stale and episodic. There are teases of "progress", like relationship-development or story-development... but then through some "cliché romcom scene" these developments are completely negated and the whole arc which could have gone for quite some time completely loses significence and everything is basically reset to what it was like before the arc started, which means the arc could basically be skipped alltogether. It's a very popular thing to do if you want to "extend" a series endlessly, but that in itself is the absolutely worst kind of writing one could use. I generally tend to avoid such type of stories if possible. When I read the Rosario+Vampire manga in the past I liked how it had some gradual progress and that the main character actually had shown progress as well. After that I read to-love-ru... and I was disillusioned. That's where I started to hate this kind of "stale" writing that to-love-ru demonstrated and I prefer the kind of harem stories like Rosario+Vampire (the manga only though, the anime can go to hell) |
