>Overlord - Potential 10k seller >_> inb4 Japan y u no liek Madhouse. Seriously though, after all the hype it was rather disappointing. I hope season 2 would still come someday, since the LN is doing quite well after the boost it received from the anime. Great to see One Piece. :) Non Non Biyori Repeat tho, not doing so well compared to season 1. ): |

malki said: I don't know what should I say...or think....: / It sold within expectations, although a tad lower than I predicted (6~7K is what I thought it'd sell). It was very weak at storefront, as indicated by the daily storefront rankings and also how it ranked on storefront day (Sep 25th) in the Oricon daily ranking, so it was highly likely to be overestimated due to also having an Amazon edition inflating its Stalker prediction. Charlotte was underestimated even with an Amazon edition because it ranked much stronger at storefront than at Amazon. |

Now people see that Stalker is bullshit and Aniplex always clean sweeps every season. Your show ain't sell shit if it's not by them. That said those are some horrific numbers for the latest iDOLM@STER (I actually find this one really strange as it was estimated at like 7,000 and has more than cleared that number before) and everything still did pretty badly. Everything has to come in below the Aniplex shows though naturally so Overload is way overestimated. Such is the anime industry. |

All in all this season might very well not have a 10K seller unless that event ticket with Symphogear pulls off a miracle next week. alpha_shadow said: Ale1212 said: I wonder what happened to Overlord haha. Kaioshin_Sama said: That said those are some horrific numbers for the latest iDOLM@STER (I actually find this one really strange as it was estimated at like 7,000 and has more than cleared that number before) Well if you actually compare to how the original Idolmaster sold, it is selling what you'd usually except taking the usual sequel drop into account. Rarely do anime sequels ever have an increase in sales as big as Love Live for example, because if we were to take out Vol.1 and Vol.4 of Imas CG and calculate the average, it'd probably be lower than the original Imas average. This is not the case with Love Live, since it would still average 52K+ without the event ticket volumes. I always had a feeling that the Imas CG BD/DVD sales were heavily inflated, so these sales are sort of on par with what I expect. Symphogear looks overestimated as hell. It'll be most likely overestimated, but not as much as Overlord. It is ranking strongly at gamers (so i'm still expecting around 12~13K?), but really the increase in Amazon editions for all anime, has been throwing Stalker predictions out of whack lately. Charlotte was underestimated just because it was so strong at storefront. The person in charge of Stalker should really think about tweaking the formula a bit, to take into account these Amazon editions... |

Even Little Busters managed over 10K in it's first week as a KEY anime, nothing has sold over 10K yet and the only real potential left for it seems to be Symphogear and if there is a game-tie in package for God Eater and people want to count it than probably that. According to 2ch the last time a season didn't have at least one 10K seller was Summer 2006, almost 10 years ago so this is on the verge of something pretty remarkable. |

Kaioshin_Sama said: This reminds me doesn't God Eater have a similar tie-in with a game package this season too? It does, but it is similar to the original Idolmaster Vol.1, which was not counted in the figure since the game bundle sold 100K+, and for sure the vast majority of those sales was not because of the anime disc. So only the standalone could be realistically counted for Vol.1 there. This makes me think, that the Japanese sales community will also treat God Eater the same, and only count the standalone Vol.1 sales. |

Charlotte sales are not bad despite having many blind haters Overlord sales are below expectation, and it is made my madhouse. The possibility of having 2nd season is almost zero now. Madhouse didn't even make 2nd season for No Game No life and Mahouka and those two sold more than overlord |

malki said: yeah..I absolutely liked Overlord..and I now this sales aren't any thing bad..however..by Madhouse standars..this anime most likely won't get a sequel even by a miracle..so I don't think this is a "good sign".. Madhouse standards are not that high, in the last 5 years they only had 3 series that sold more than Overlord (Mahouka, NGNL and HOTD), here's a list of all late night shows they did in the recent years and how much they sold. HXH, Dia no A and other which were day shows and collaboration project are not included. Oremonogatri - 500 units sold Death Parade - 923 units sold Parasyte - 632 units sold Hanayamata - 3,500 units sold Magical Warfare - 322 units sold Sunday Without God - 531 units sold Photo Kano - 1,256 units sold Chihayafuru 2 - 3,235 units sold Btooom - 326 units sold Chihayafuru - 2,802 Blade & X-men & Wolvrine & Kaiji S2 & Iron Man sold so litte nobody know exactly the numbers (most likely less than 100 units) |

What about that looks particularly well to you considering the anime did several times those numbers per volume and movies generally sell better than TV anime volumes? I'm sorry sometimes the logic of the reactions on this site baffle me, if people want to be happy over something like that fine, but it just puzzles me on so many levels. Ejc said: Kaioshin_Sama said: This reminds me doesn't God Eater have a similar tie-in with a game package this season too? It does, but it is similar to the original Idolmaster Vol.1, which was not counted in the figure since the game bundle sold 100K+, and for sure the vast majority of those sales was not because of the anime disc. So only the standalone could be realistically counted for Vol.1 there. This makes me think, that the Japanese sales community will also treat God Eater the same, and only count the standalone Vol.1 sales. That seems like a double standard to me considering that Macross Frontiers movies had a similar scheme and that seems to get acknowledged |

Like what's the margin for happiness here? 3,000 units for a movie? 2,000? 1 unit? I mean that's a sale right. thepath said: Charlotte sales are not bad despite having many blind haters Overlord sales are below expectation, and it is made my madhouse. The possibility of having 2nd season is almost zero now. Madhouse didn't even make 2nd season for No Game No life and Mahouka and those two sold more than overlord I love the totally warped perspective here. If there's anything Key anime lack it's blind haters wanting to shit on them and if there's anything it has in abundance it's borderline blind worshipers that will never criticize them ever and if not always say everything is great at least give it the benefit of the doubt the whole way through. Charlotte got more leniency than virtually any other anime I've seen all year as it stumbled and bumbled through a poorly pace plotline clearly designed around selling music CD's and promoting the brand at which it seems to have failed since it actually managed to attract significantly less buyers than any other work in it's catalogue and clearly lost the brand the unconditional love of quite a few of the fans it had already if the reaction on the internet (many of which damn well feature users with Key themed avatars and signatures no less) I'm seeing is to be believed. That's not blind hate, that's just the reality. |

A few more months and it might surpass Howl's Moving Castle's known sales (1,327,915) but Spirited Away is still out of reach (2,418,405). +367 this week so the new total is 1,312, 298. |
