Fate Zero, especially since the animation is already so good. I especially like it when the Servants use their Noble Phantasms.
I like pie.

Darker Than Black, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Evangelion 1.0 and 2.0 .. And Bleach and Naruto have some good fights.

Hunter x Hunter of course

Fate/Zero's fights are not really that good, for one the animators aren't sure if they want CGI in or out, and the fight itself is just swords clashing, no choreography, or anything of that matter. Also they don't flow well at all. Always interrupted by Gilgamesh's not-so-fancy lines and his "how dare you" memes, so to speak.

That Doctor fight in YYH really kicked ass

Take out the flashbacks and you got some really good fights in naruto and bleach
sexual incest in nisomonogatari - no one bats an eye
romance incest in SAO - everyone loses their minds

Mirai Nikki. Why? Two words, Yuno Gasai. But seriously I love how you get a good background on the characters and you actually want the main characters to win. It's not just the fights are good, they have a good reason to fight.
pftttt ahhahhahhahhahhahhahahah!!! LOL thanks for the laugh dude.

I wouldn´t count any fight in general I think considering a series for this is short minded because some series have that 1 certain fight and nothing else to offer.

One Piece lacks severe through cheap animation.
Fate had some nice coreography but there was way too much talking.
I enjoyed the series way more when characters were talking.

Also this is a listing thread and will be closed I´ve opened literally the same 2 years ago.

Naruto vs Pain best fight in Anime period.

It's hard to tell which is the best since there are way too many type of fights and they can't be compared, really. But if I had to choose one anime with the best fight choreography, it would be Sword of the Stranger. The fights are very fast paced, animation is fluid and detailed, there isn't unnecessary talking during the fights and fights are not ridiculously long.

Claymore.
Swordfight + demon chicks = win.
I always wanted a DBZ sort of anime with swordfights, girls and gore, not to mention special abilities these bitches posses.
This anime fit the bill, at least for me.

Virtually every fight in HxH is great thanks to the battle system, but highlights included:

One Piece has some really good ones too:

I recall all of Pain's fights in Naruto being good.

Also, all of the fights in Katanagatari are well-thought-out even though they tend to be short. Special mention needs to go to Yasuri Shichika vs. Sabi Hakuhei, however; it is quite possibly the best fight in all of anime. Just look at the preview!:

Naruto series. It's not even remotely close..

Most other series are lackluster in comparison, while Naruto has everything I would want from a fight (amazing choreography, strategy, emotional moments, fluid animation, cool factor, interesting abilities, etc)

Anime though, Gintama, One Piece, FMAB. I haven't seen a lot of fighting anime I guess.

I can't pic a specific fight (perhaps one from gintama) but indeed for those that are quite technique, sword of stranger/Jojo/Ippo/SamouraiChamploo have them, Naruto have some good ones too especially when it comes to hand to hand combat like lee V gaara/Sasuke V Bee and Kenshin when its not the shonen fights.

also,
-Ichigo vs byakuya
-Ga rei zero
-Kiri' V Kirei / Sab' V Lancer
-aladin v titus
-Shadow Warr- 'erhm' i mean Afro samourai
-chevalier d'eon
-seirei no moribito
-FMA greed v Ed, FMA movie: wrath v glutony and king bradley fights
-luffy vs tiger-guy

Not from anime but the fights from the Kenshin movies are quite good, lacking impacto though:

PS: And since i'm on it, for non-anime-but-asian-movies: Jet Li vs Donnie Yen, Inigo vs Wesley, yip man, drgon forever, the raid and obviously jackie chan fights.

Have yet to found and decide on a best fight scene ever.

I think its Hunter X Hunter (2011), As to why; i find them very enjoyable and well made in terms of animation and execution.

I would like to add that; some AoT, JoJo, FMA, Darker than Black,Fate, fights are pretty good too.

Claymore has one of the best fight if not the best, even in special chapters, like the one that have Tereza vs Nº1 awakening is godlike, so many epic fights, we really need a remake or 2nd season of claymore.

Fate series have pretty amazing fights too, but some are boring.

Tokyo Ghoul is amazing too, I think, thanks the shit anime I can't remember how it was on the manga, I have to re-read it, but I'm sure remember it has amazing fights, besides the epic story.

Shingeki no Kyojin, not all fights, but many of them just feel epic for me, god 2 season will be amazing. *o*

Rurouni Kenshin is fucking amazing too, epic everywhere. :D

Naruto has various fights awesome too, but unfortunate the last good one was Danzou VS Sasuke. IMO

Fairy Tail has good fights too but A1-Pictures just can't do anything right, FT would be another thing if it was done by a studio like Bones.

Hey, at least they used the search function. :V

This glorious signature image was created by @Mayumi!

I am the Arbiter of Absolute Truth, and here is my wisdom:

"Anime was always influenced by the West. This is not news.
Shoujo is the superior genre primarily aimed at young people.
Harem/isekai are lazy genres that refuse any meaningful innovation.
There is no 'Golden Age.' There will always be top-shelf anime.
You should be watching Carole & Tuesday."

Soul Eater.

I like the art style in this anime and I like the whole thing of people turning into weapons and soul's resonance.

One word - Bones. Action series made by them usually have great fight scenes.

Soul Eater manga fights are awesome as well and it has far better storyline.

One Piece has one of the most badass and awesome fights.

Naruto (not filler) has good fights.

Yu Yu Hakusho is one of my most favorite action anime.

Dragon Ball Z obviously has one of the best fight scenes

P.S : Haven't seen HxH so I can't say about it. But seeing all the replies about HxH, sure gonna start it.

Girls und Panzer

The tanks look and sound pretty authentic, there's a good mix of actual tactics and retarded, hype-inducing stunts, and the action sequences are long and uninterrupted, which I like. It especially does this well because the show has loads of characters in the same action sequences which prevents it from feeling repetitive.

If we're talking about on-foot 1-on-1 fights I would say Samurai Champloo.

Hunter x Hunter (2011) - Before you get excited, most of the best fight scenes happen during the Yorknew City arc and Chimera Ant arc imo meaning you're going to have to power through the first 36 episodes before you start getting to the good stuff.

Shingeki no Kyojin - I recall there being one really good fight scene but I'm not going to spoil it. ; )

Moribito - This one only had 2 or 3 fight scenes but they were damn good ones.

mad reps to the HXH fights reference. like, MAD (house) reps.

for me k belongs on the list as well. g-hands know how to combine modern urban style with lightning fast hand to hand combat, knife hurling, sword fighting and the like. and it ends up sooo goooood...
