Hm actually... Emotions in every episode... do not want.

I don't care what anybody says, this was an amazing episode.
Also i disagree that there was no emotion. All that talk from Ein about what they are and about life was amazing. The photo shoot of the crazy Scythe Master and the symbolism of Ein with those dolls also was amazing. If they weren't so afraid of showing some nudity or the perverter nature of humans in all it's glory that scene would have been one of the most beautiful scenes ever seen in anime.
Also the killing spree might have seemed emotionless but those emotionless faces of Ein and Zwei while they kill people make me feel a lot more than seeing someone running and shouting while shooting. The way they lock there human nature trying to reach a robotic perfection in there job is something i love watching.

For one more time Ein was beautiful and sexy as hell in every scene. By the way did both Ein and Zwei looked a little older in this episode or is it just me? They seemed like 17 year olds in my eyes before and in this episode they looked more like 19-21.

Once again, lots of killings. Would have been nice if we at least knew the relations, nope. Just people blaming people blaming people.

Andthe pacing is getting on my nerves; Inferno keeps getting what they want, kuudere couple continues being kuudere, someone who might had been able to oppose them just died...

I don't know if the fault lies within BEE-TRAIN, or if it's actually Nitro+ screwing up on this, but I hope something could actually happen soon.

Ok epsisode. I was a little bored by the pace, and since they didn't even really bother to distinguish who the targets were relative to Inferno, I was a little confused, and definitely detached from the action. The character design is so bland that I thought that the people dying were either apart of inferno, Tony look-alikes, or people who died in the last episode.

Wonderfully executed episode. As another poster has said, I enjoy the fact that Phantom doesn't always tell you what is going on in Ein and Zwei's head. I don't always want to be told every little detail, and I enjoy thinking for myself.

I do think that Ein is just a little more "human" than Zwei at this point, however. You could argue that he lost any sense of humanity in the last episode. However, his reasoning that he "kills..too live..". Shows that he has no desire to die, but at some point I wonder if you could even consider yourself truly "alive" in his situation.

Yeah, I was a little bit confused. So much blood have spilled, so many betrayals aswell. Lies, lies, lies. it's like the world revolves around lies.

So, Inferno killed 6-12 of the great big bosses on the west coast and made it on a way that they wouldn't get the blame.

Tony's subordinate betrayed him because Inferno gave him enough money to buy a cottage and live in the carribeans. The police let that happen so that he'll take the praise and get promoted.

This anime is better then Darker than Black,
but still has the same failings.

It didn't matter who they were killing or for what reason in this episode.
So the plot was pretty bad.
The images were nice with the glass, but still the pacing was terrible.
There was no plot development or growth at all.
Also it ending in the same boring depressing way as the last episode I can't stand that.

I actually hope is picks up a tad.....

I second this, aside from another disturbing Scythe scene, it was a solid episode overall, the killing spree was nicely done and executed and the plot looks promising moving forward.

Great episode. Scythe Master is a creep though! Especially the way he was photographing Ein! I also found it interesting how Svy is starting to show a bit of independent thinking and questioning some of the motives for their job as assassins.

Agreeing with what others mentioned, the episode would have been better if there was more insight on who they were killing. Even some minor narration by Zwei or Ein would have worked.

Other than that it was a nice episode. I figured this would go on for one more ep, but apparently not. Inferno works fast!

Not bad, but what noteDhero said. You couldn't tell who where they killing nor did it matter.

That wasn't so hard to understand if you were paying attention. They were targeting the mafia bosses of the area, and then made it look like it was the doing of another family, like in a gang war.

Example: First, Ein killed one member of family A. Then, she passed on the gun used to kill him to Inferno-affiliate in family B. Zwei kills the boss of family B, and the Inferno-affiliate acts like the the attacker was actually the guy from family A which Ein just killed. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Essentially, they were camouflaging Inferno's killing of the "old bosses" to let the Inferno-friendly second line take command. Result: The new Inferno-friendlies take over to end the sudden "gang war", and a bribed police officer gets kicked up to captain to wrap it all up.

So yes, it DID matter. Pretty much, in fact.

Well thanks to you, I do know get it totally as to what they were doing, just a shame I didn't know that whilst it was going off, like many others I was just totally detached from it all because I didn't know why..... and I was literally glued to the screen, I wasn't just watching it on and off and not paying attention... all that being said, i do really like this how atm, really atmospheric the fight scenes are nicely done, and imaginative just hope they keep it up, but also, give Inferno a bit of challenge soon, there seeming to dominate at the moment.

A killing montage reminiscent of the classic gangster movies. I like it.

Ein looked really sexy in a dress and Scythemaster and Ms. McCullen are definitely going to clash sooner rather than later.

"I kill with this hand, and I eat with this hand. They're no different, since I do them both to live." - Zwei.
--

Oh man, the biggest plan so far was set in motion, and carried out perfectly. Scythe Master is one scary guy, and so are his hobbies... (lol). That coordination of Inferno in this episode was splendid, the opposition never really had a chance.

Also, the symbolism of the flower at the end there was so accurate that it was sad.

I liked that quote a lot, it really gives you a sense of his mentality and his reality. Although I agree with some people that Zwei is less human than Ein, he is still able to question because of what Claudia told him. Whereas Ein on the other hand won't question anything the Scythe Master or the higher ups say.

It was OK episode, but I think it was the "worst" one so far. As it was said, I really felt out of the action, too, didn't really care who and why die... But what I disliked the most was Scythe goals... I really hoped he was just the creepy doc who "created" his greatest tool(Phantom) and all he wanned was just to "use" it to his heart content, but to my greatest dissapointment he wants to play the "god", too. :(

My thoughts exactly. And damn I can see Scythe Master is planning something big

Everyone in that city is so corrupted...

As soon as that bouncer got killed, I understood that their plan was to pin the murders on Tony. They did a great job on that.

Inferno is really too powerful, but I wonder if they can really control those two monsters. If one day they want to unchain themself, I don't think that know one will be able to stop them.

That Master Scythe really disgust me. He look like one creepy psycho.

Damn that was well-planned. Reminds me of The Godfather. Michael Corleone would be so proud.

Another disturbing scene with Scythe Master. Annoying as heck too. Every time he appears on screen, I'm really tempted to google if he's going to die soon.

Very thoughtful of those bosses to gather in a single area for easy assassination.
Getting tired of 2 useing the if I don't kill them; they'll kill me excuse; you're one of the worlds best assassins now.

And man, Zwei is almost not human anymore, but that kinda became already apparent after he killed a mother and her child.

Got to say, I'm liking what this anime is doing. It's giving me conflicting feelings between rooting for the "protagonists" by virtue of them being the main characters and perspective focus, and rooting against them because they're assassins serving a blatantly immoral and virtueless organisation. Tony's death genuinely felt like a heinous act against a principled man, even though he was a mafia boss, simply because he just looked good in comparison to them. The media/societal fallout where the corrupt cop and Inferno get what they want and gloat about being able to retire just hammers down that narrative of injustice.

Hoping Inferno starts getting picked off at some point. It'd be a real downer if it was just win after win for them. Also, Ein looks great in the dress. Shame there weren't a lot of shots of it.

Hei is a bit more sympathetic than Zwei. Most of Hei's targets weren't particularly good people, and he often found ways to spare those that were. Zwei just kills everyone he's asked to, even if they didn't show any signs they deserved it. Both are cool characters, but their mentalities differ.

This anime has everything from Action, Drama, Suspense, Mafia and great music. Every episode is stand alone, yet important to the story. That was a smart move by Inferno for sure. They really got poor Zwei and Ein by the balls and tits, and I mean literally. Let's see where the story goes next > 6:11 AM, 21/11/24
