THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Good episode overall and once again, the show is able to keep its momentum imo with the tension building. I think the pitcher usually bears a lot of burden and no doubt the episode captured that.

Lol, the coach. Gotta love the way he tries to get the team fired up.

The feels T.T

Honestly with 2 strikes and only needing that one out. I really have to hand it to the Inashiro third year to having such an overwhelming tenacity. Just the slightest doubt and he would had hit a ball or miss and get a strike...

The cleanup getting onto the bat. It really was something to see how everything was so close. The shock of Inashiro getting a run took away most of Seido's hope for national. The coach last attempt to rally everyone. Gaining hope to only fall again. Losing the chance to get to the nationals ;_; this was a really intense episode!

Wow...Honestly, I thought this was going to be a close call win. I mean there was all that suspenseful tension and everything. The reality of them losing this game is kind of depressing :(, and a little bit irritating. >.<. I mean, this whole time I was so excited to watch episode after episode of the game only to see them lose. -_-

Nice job ruining the anime and doing the same fucking cliche every other sports show already did.

If you want to do something like this piece of crap, at least do brilliantly like
.

What the fuck. I am pissed off. Shit, shit, shit, FUCKING SHIT.

I hope in the next season in their baseball team or whatever the fuck you call it they team up a super overpowered team because I am tired of this losing bullshit.

FUCKING PISSED OFF, REALLY.

What the fuck. I can't believe in this crap.

The thing is, Kawakami should've never joined the fucking game.

But OH NO, let's make Sawamura a fucking coward bitch so we lose the game and add shit drama herp derp.

First of all, congratulations to Inashiro for bagging the win. Too bad for Seido, Inashiro defeated them twice in the West Tokyo Tournament.

Wintovisky said:

No, it's called cliche since every team in sports anime - guess what - loses in the end. And it's not like their team was bad or just got together, NO.

I wouldn't call it a cliche because like you said, Seido isn't a weak team. Contrary to most sports anime where some underdog loses or miraculously wins, the finals was a battle between two "strong" and "driven" teams. Overall, both were on equal footing in this match up. Of course, there could only be one winner and it's unfortunate Seido was the one to lose. It's just what it is. Life.

I know you're mad but imo you are being unfair to Inashiro. They won fair and square, strongly withstanding the immense pressure during the final moments of the game. And I was quite surprised that it was Mei who hit the winning hit.

The most important however, is the fact that these two teams displayed a thrilling and intense finals match-up. Kudos and cheers to both Seido and Inashiro.

I was actually expecting them to tie and have the extra innings. Didn't really like how the way they just 'skipped' the last pitching (the way he's going to pitch). I know it's meant to have an impactful 'twist' at the end, which I think it kinda works on me, but still... maybe I just wanted to know if that pitch is being hit due to error pitch or whatnot haha. Whatever, I guess it doesn't really matter.

I don't really find much issues about them losing. Maybe because I don't watch much sports anime to see what's cliche. And in some point, I've even thought that they may win this game but lose at the nationals if the anime followed the 'cliche' route.

Wow this is becoming the new cliche. This plot twist ain't a twist anymore. All the recent sports anime I have watched end in the same result.

Good depiction though of the loss toward the end. Losing does happen in an instance

I got spoiled beforehand on the results, so it's not a huge surprise.

Yeah yeah, all sports anime do this (by all, I mean most because there are a few that break the cliche) "we lose in our first big tournament" but the development and build up were amazing. It was so tense near the end, even if it was inevitable that Seido would fail in the end.

Incredible match overall. Loved all of it, even when the pacing got really slow near the end. I'm satisfied. All my Seido children tried their best. It's too bad things didn't work out in their favour.

I'm surprised with that result. It's not at all unusual, but it really did feel like it was going to be a win even if they lost the one run.
Results aside, it felt like they jumped into Narumiya's hit way too fast to make the impact really shocking which is a shame - it could've been milked for more.
It was also disappointing how they ran through over half of Nori's first batter - when you montage things like that it really loses the tension that's been built to that point.

Overal, a great match. Suffered from the constant shortcuts, but that's unavoidable. It's a shame that it'll be a long while before we can finally see Seidou at the national stage. That hurts more than anything.

Just like that?!
This hurt!
This hurt so much!
I take into account that they can lose...
but losing just like that!
This is so sad!

So what with 3 years?
They lose chance to play back?

Damn it!
This is like in all sports anime,
but usually 3 years have another/final chance!

I know it feels more realistic, but this really hurt!
I don't want watch next episode... ;(

My poor 3 years...
Poor Kawakami....

And I don't get why people are saying the best team wins. Both Seido and Inashiro were obviously on the same level to an absurd extent. It's just how the story is <_<

Ofc I'm pissed esp that the 3rd years won't be playing anymore D:

Eijun is human too you know. He blames himself and they lost, who would still be happy with that.

Anyway, a lot of butthurt people. This is how games are, sometimes you win sometimes you lose. But yeah, I understand that the outcome was frustrating. As a manga reader, I don't like the things that will happen next especially when it becomes like
and the future manga chapters will piss you off. Seriously.

Tho I'd like to applaud mad house and prod i.g for doing a good job adapting this arc.

I thought it was INCREDIBLY stupid of the coach to put Nori on the mound. Like, seriously, Nori messed up so many times as the closer that I just lost count. Coach should've put Furuya on the mound, as much as it hurts me to say it. Out of the four pithcers, he's the only one who can handle the pressure. I didn't expect them to lose faith so fast, though. I really thought they would playing some extra innings.

SO FRUSTRATING!

Furuya got subbed out at the start of the bottom of the 9th inning. Kawakami was the only pitcher they had left.

A hit to the head is almost fatal. He already had the stress of pitching in the last inning and then he almost kills someone, it's like all the shit dumped on him. Of course, he'd feel "emo".

Guys, watch Major after DnA ends. You'll see lots of similarities (dead ball to the head + breaking bats + very similar school to Seido named Kaido) and you can understand baseball better.

Fuck fuck, this match was a roller coaster of emotions, loved it.

I'm a little bitter that Seidou lost, but I have to give credit to Inashiro and how they bounce back and won.

Now now, what's with the rage? There were times, before this match, that Seidou could've lost and won, they're not a perfect team,Inashiro has more experienced and more talented players. It wouldn't be better if they won and then lose their first match at Nationals imo.Plus that loss will make them better mentally, just how Inashiro after their loss at Nationals.

I wonder how it will continue from now on.
