| Classified as cartoon by MAL because it's made in 'Murica. The radical weebs here don't like stuff from that country. For Korra, some of Book 2 was animated by Pierrot. As you can see they lived up to their fame and did a shittier job animation wise.  |

| What exactly do you mean by "just a cartoon"? Anime is simply cartoons made in Japan, its not that hard to understand. I don't care if Avartar was influenced by anime, it was not created in Japan, therefore it is not an anime, If a American born in the United Sates, acted like a Japanese man, is he Japanese? | You see people, in Japan, the term "anime" refers to all forms of animation from around the world. But you westerners, for simplicity's sake, strictly view anime as an animation product from Japan. And here you are arguing what Avatar is. It's a damn anime, cartoon, korean animation, it's all of the above. |

| As many of these "is avatar a anime" threads that seem to pop up ever few months or so I would think there would be a sticky explaining that yeah in Japan all cartoons are anime regardless of country of origin but to the rest of the world anime are Japanese cartoons made primarily for a Japanese audience. This is why Avatar is not on myanimelist . This is why to anyone outside of Japan Avatar is not a anime. If the OP watched more than 50 anime then he would know that anime is diverse in drawing style.Here is an example of some of the styles used.  |
