Yes! This version is more true to Rei's character in the manga. Rei in the first anime and Rei in the manga have completely different personalities. In the manga Rei is actually very composed, dignified and she is concerned with upholding the values of a priestess. She is far from being boy crazy and she never shows any interest in Mamoru. Rei, in the manga, has terrible relationship with her father and you can see that effect on her personality... she's very independent and openly states that she has no need for men. She isn't totally uninterested in romance though. We see in the extra chapter that she has some interest in men Also... this is, so far, the most enjoyable episode for me. I'm really loving Usagi in this. And I looooove the Mamoru/Usagi bus scene. 5/5 The art is a huge problem though. It was forgivable in the 90s, but they can do much better in 2014. I am far from being an animator, so when I watch and think "Mars's arms look so awkward flailing around like that" then it's a real concern. ETA: Ongaku008 said: Why is everyones transformation better than Sailor Moon's :/?! I have mixed feelings about this episode. Rei is really beautiful like in the manga, but some of her expressions really need to be fixed :/. The bus scene with Mamoru was funny , but I am sad that they didn't animate the part where . I'm excited to see the next episode. I hope they stay true to the manga and don't skip too much. |

I think it's horrible Toei isn't treating SM right, but if you disregard the fact that it should be THE event anime with a huge budget, I still really like the show so far. I think it's good with an absolutely lovely classic shoujo feel. Wonky animation can be excused. Disrespect for source material can not. |

| Amazing episode! Been long time, but i finally watched it!! I say i'm not disappointed one bit. Love her transformation, though it's not as firey as Cure Rouge from Yes Precure :P I do love how she does a sexy pose then went to Jotaro pose in the next one :D Satou, Rina captures the character perfectly!! Loving the animation! Even though i still think 2D is better and more natural. The CGI's are getting good. Even though i still wish all Precures and Sailor Moon should stick to 2D and just leave the OP and ED as CGI, I'm already used to it. I can't wait to reveal Sailor Jupiter as well as Sailor Venus!!! Another 2 week wait T__T |

| My least liked episode by far. Too bad some cute (and creepy, but this is spoilerific) moments from manga were cut. The fighting part was a bit modified too... Too bad the animation was really sloppy this time, though seems like the main reason for this is the animation budget, which is kind of low. This happens a lot in Toei... Not to mention it´s not on TV, so it´s harder with no sponsors. Maybe they work in a rush, even having two weeks. But it´s no easy task to animate, after all. I hope the series get really many, many viewers so Toei might increase the budget and with this, the quality. But that´s okay. I´m still liking SMC and I´m happy with Rei´s appearance~ |

Everything will still go accordins to the route they adapt. IF Kinoko Nasu majorly alters FSN plotlines , there will be outrage too. This on other hand not only has a major impact upon storyline, completely changing its tone, but ENTIRELY changes the senshi characterization. What original author wnts is not always te best - case in point Star Wars prequels. |

Well your right the authors wants, is not always the best.But we should still respect their decessions.Due to the fact is their story,they can change alter and add as much as they want.Honestly even I didn't expect this to be 100% percent like the manga.If they did add some Senshi X Generals . So what? It might work,even without altering the plot so much as you think .Besides this is probaly going to still be more closer adaption,than the other anime. Yea, I'm not saying the new stuff might be better or worse - who knows at this point - but I just don't see it as disrespect the way Fai is calling it. |
| They are definitely going to add/alter things. Anime and manga are two different formats so things will be changed for the sake of saving time, stretching time, censorship, etc. And also, it's a writing team adapting the series. I think you will find that with adaptations, the writers begin to incorporate their own ideas. For example, in Game of Thrones they were very faithful to the books... but as the series progressed, the writing team began taking ownership over the characters and making changes. The team here is either going to stay as faithful as possible with adding/altering things or they may just do what the original animators did and make things "their own." Sometimes it is disappointing to see changes, but sometimes it's fun. I didn't like how they excluded Usagi and Mamoru recognizing each other as Sailor Moon/Mask in the bus... but, I like how they choose to show their attraction by having Usagi behave very awkwardly and hide behind Luna. In this version, Usagi is very awkward and nervous around Mamo... not knowing how to handle her attraction. It's a cute and realistic characteristic that the animators have added. As far as the art goes. The original anime's art was kind of blah and lame at first. It got better and better as the show went on. I hope the same thing will happen here. In the spoiler promo video for the theme song... I saw some beautiful scenes. I hope there's more to come. |

I'm definitely getting used to the new character designs, and Sailor Mars brought a CGI transformation that I really enjoyed! (I still don't really like Usagi and Ami's, though) And that whole Zoitsite thing, they changed him to be a female in some dubbed versions because they thought that gay relationships are inappropriate for young children. I'm pretty sure that in Mexico (and maybe some other countries), they kept gay relationships in the Sailor Moon dubs so it was banned form the country :p Light Sailor Moon S spoiler Anyway, even though it's been over a year since I watched the first sailor moon series, I think I liked this episode better than the earlier bus episode. This one was pretty dramatic! Also lol at those adults. "Rei-san, how could you abduct Mii? YOU'RE NOT HELPING! YOU'RE EVIL BECAUSE YOU CAN SENSE DEMONS! STAY AWAY FROM MY DAUGHTER!" They can really jump to conclusions quickly :P |

| I still have a crush on Sailor Mercury from since last episode which I never did as a kid! Nice episode, I'm glad Sailor Mars debuted I liked her when I was younger she's not as mad as she was in the last series. I enjoyed Sailor Mar's transformation, this was a nice episode. |

The previous adaptation for some reason made him older because apparantly "older males crushing on schoolgirls and being sexist" was thought to be romantic. As nonsensical alterations to Jadeite's end this episode show, TOEI is in love with doing bullshit changes to the original work. |

| Okay, Rei's transformation I liked. The CGI was blended with the 2D animation very nicely this time and stood out far less. I also like that Mamoru is a teenager and not a creeper uni student. |

I did like Mars transformation and ya her attitude isn't as "snappy". Not sure what to think about that. Guess no cameo of human Venus and Artemis in this. ): |

| This Rei is so different from the one of the original show, it's like a brand new character :D And I think I like her more here. One thing I regret is that even though they included the bus scene with Mamoru and Usagi, they weren't shown to be thinking 'oh she looks like Sailor Moon' and 'or he looks like Tuxedo' like in the manga. Too bad, I always thought it was cute. |

| I guess im lucky for watching the bluray version as i dont see anything you all mentioned... Sailor mars <3 i remember her being tsundere and rivalry was there but yeah i guess it got explained by users above here already.. So it felt a bit different to me.. Great episode nevertheless |
