Jojo restored my faith not only in anime but humanity in general.

- No moeblobs, harem, ecchi or random fanservice at every corner.

- Actual strong and unique characters, not cardboard cutouts like in most animes today. Like the token tsundere, or the emo insecure MC etc. Or the stupid kid with a big heart, who likes to eat (aka Naruto).

- Fights that are actually interesting, and where good guys can die. No ''Argghh you hit my nakama!!11! Now I get a power up and defeat you!''. And even minor villains can put up a decent fight.

- Comedy that is actual comedy! I can't stress how important this is. No ''Oops my boob is in your face'' moments. Or ''B-baka! You got hurt again! Now I will hit you!''. Also doesn't appear in inapropriate moments.

- No forced romance. No forced anything really. The author knows his characters and what story he wants to tell.

I know a lot of people like the above stuff and that's cool. I just wanted to post this and thank Japan for also putting out stuff with heart and soul once in a while.

Anime hasn't impacted me enough to do something as large as restoring faith in humanity or anything, all the things you don't like in Anime can be found in other Series if you look hard enough.

Jonothan and Jotaru are the embodiment of cardboard cutouts. They are the two oldest and most stalw of cliché characters.

So... Nah.

P2 was great though.

This.

Jojo has a lot of cardboard cuout characters in a few parts, but that doesn't change the fact that it is probably one of the most iconic camp franchises in the entire industry and a wonderful series overall. We should be glad DP got the okay from Araki and proved to be such a great studio for this.

Also, Gappy = moest Jojo.

You don't really watch Jojo for the pinnacle of characterization or development, though. The over the top-ness, cool stand battles, general sense of style, and just trying to see what kind of crazy shit Araki will come with next is what it's all about, imo.

As much as I agree that JoJo is moe, at least it's the GAR kind of moe, which is truly unique and makes for camp that's pretty fun.

I want to see how they'll adapt the 4th part tho.

Jojo's great and all but it's definitely not a life-saving show.

Unless you're fervidly upset with the industry fine, but it literally can't reincarnate your tortured spirit unless you take anime way too seriously and revolve your life around it.

*sigh* MAL's really becoming less of a positive discussion board and more like /a/ day by day. What's next? Shall we do a Said Character X is Love Said Character X is Life?

All of which sucked in P1, and failed to impress THAT much as of Ep4 of P3.
Over the top coolness: Part 2
Other parts are just cliches trying too hard to be the same as P2, they lack good style imo

Well, Araki wrote Jotaro and Jonathan with THAT in mind, so really no wonders. Times were different (25-27 years ago), and more importantly HE was different, he needed to start from some existing archetype. Perhaps Joseph was the only JoJo (between Part 1 and 3) who had his own bit of originality. Then I can guess he started to gain coinfidence in his potential and his true genius began.

Johnny has a point though, the song does get stuck to one's head after hearing it once.

I wouldn't call it faith in humanity restoring anime, but it is pretty great considering the kinds of animu we've been getting recently.

Because it seems like that Araki loves fashion style and he's very easily influenced by his hobbies. (since he even signed a contract with Gucci)

Also, as many interviews stated, he likes the pose-thing from the many Greek statues of naked men, and he does that to celebrate the beauty of the human body and because he's genuinely interested of anatomy.

Celestrial2 said:

"insults"
Lol, I don't think that was supposed to be a real criticism, so pay it no mind.
But it's true though that he loved to eat ramen every 5-10 episodes or so. At least it was so in the first season, but I don't know if he changed his habit in Shippuuden because I dropped it long ago.

The author knows his characters and what story he wants to tell.

sigh

1 there is some fanservice (joseph looking at his mom. jolyne has some to)

2 jotaro, avadol, kakyoin, giorno, johnny, johnathan there's quite a couple of bland characters id rather have people like naruto then just plain boring people.

3. ok i agree fights are pretty good.

4. sometimes funny stuff happens in inappropriate moments like kakyoin elbowing polenarff other than that i agree

5.i kinda feel like its forced because i know the only reason the girls are there is so we can have a next part.

That's because JOJO is an older series. It's source material started in the 1980's so all that moe and excessive ( although it did exist back then) fanservice was not yet there. Lots of series around the time were like JOJO like fist of the north star so while I do like it, it definitely is not the first of its kind.
