The most overused setting in anime, Highschool. Check The school is a meeting place and a jumping off place for certain plot points, the story isn't focused on the school at ALL after the first Volume. And why shouldn't it be the most used setting? It's relateable and easy to work with.
Incest pandering. Check Yakumo was teasing Miyuki in order to provoke Tatsuya into a fight. Tatsuya has only one sore point, and that's his sister. Yakumo wanted a fight. And Miyuki, in the LNs, is described as a 15 year old otherworldly beauty. Basically everyone they meet is infatuated with her to a degree, although that's is probably the most blatant offense.
Teenage protagonists. Check Is that a bad thing? Are any animes with teenage protagonists automatically trash-tier?
Infodumping. Check There is very, very little infodump. They literally had extra episodes to watch if you want a true infodump in order to be more educated about its world. The show has very little, if any infodump.
Teacher looks way too young. Check #1: She's not their teacher, and she IS young. #2: There's a reason, she's a pretty interesting character. They didn't introduce her well, but hopefully her role will be more apparent in the coming weeks.
Girls gravitate towards the MC for no fucking reason. Check (atleast it's not a full blown harem yet) It's not a harem, everyone is modest, and there's no "whoops I touched your boob" crap. Seeing as he's a very well balanced, brilliant, confident guy that hangs around an otherworldy beauty, that tends to touch on other womens' interests. Anyways, the relationships in this LN are extremely interesting and I can't expound further without ruining things, but this is NOT a harem
Emotionless MC. Check Close. This is very close to a major plot point, stay tuned to find out. Honestly I love Tatsuya, I don't think I've seen an MC like him.
MC has a "hidden power". Check Why is this an issue?
Perverted Oldman. Check (he seems to only be into little girls so theres a +1 pedo bonus) Yakumo is like 29 or something, and has an "Altered sense of personal boundaries," while having a very teasing personality
Potential harem. Check Keyword: Potential. It's not. I had a potential harem in my high school class too, I was friends with over 4 girls! That means I have a harem if I'm friends with them, right? No? I have to actually have a harem to have a harem? Weird.

This has been to death already, but this time the package just looks nicer because Madhouse wants to cash in on the existing fanbase and animate this. I honestly don't see how they can take a premise this generic and make something worth while out of it. Dropped.The premise and story to Mahouka is anything but generic. I'm sure you have a full understanding of the characters, plot, and world of Mahouka after barely paying attention to one episode. Shitposts like this really make my blood boil

The first episode of an anime is supposed to be an accurate representation of what the rest of the anime will be about. It sets up the story and outlines the general theme and direction of the series. From watching this episode all I got was hinting at incest and harem elements in an overused setting with typical archetypal characters, because they obviously wanted to put those front and center for all of the watchers to see. While the rest of the show appears to be extremely cliche I have no qualms with it. I am simply disgusted by this element of the show which has absolutely no meaningful place in the storyline. It is nothing more than fan service.

He spends the entire time "emotionless" barely caring about anything, but the -moment- someone makes any sort of threat against his sister, he's -there- like the fking wind. His face actually twists a bit, he's angry. That scene is meant to show the source of Tatsuya's only emotion, his sister.

It's also meant to characterize the trickster shinobi Yakumo, he's a pretty important side character, fun guy. He wants to fight Tatsuya in this scene to drag him off his disciples, so he antagonizes his sister. He already knows that no matter how much he pokes fun at Tatsuya, Tatsuya will just shrug off the harass and stonewall him. The only way to raise Tatsuya's ire is through his sister.

Or you know, you could get all angry and call him a pedo instead of making any sort of intelligent analysis. Your call.
