I'm not enjoying this adaptation as much as I enjoy the manga, probably because of the animation style with weird colors and zooms sometimes, I just don't like it. This episode was... bah. But the ending was pretty cute, with Yuuko finding out that Asagi had lived, plus the feelings she had in the ending for Teiichi didn't seem like " real love" but just the feeling for someone who was left behind by the girl she once lived with. It was really, really cute!

Despite not having time to discuss much from the last episode. This episode transients and resolves along with explaining all that needs to be. It clearly wrapped everything wonderfully. So to be short I shall address only the ending of this episode.

First of all let’s take the artistic value of the following,

Amazing scene. There so much of it. For one the melding of the light to show the accordance about to happen with hesitation from both Yuukos. With it connecting to each Yuuko. Truly the art itself is breathtaking and so was the BGM along with effects of that part.

Further taking the above in the following,

This part showing indeed the completed Ying/Yang setup of both Yuukos being together in accepting each other truly has its own tale of multi facets of meanings among them the Oak Leaves:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oak#Cultural_significance
Meanings of various proportions come down as strong, firm and righteous as in the thing that was going on in that part. The white and black colors along with the flower that also has a meaning, just it’s a bitch to match flowers (did for Hyouka and took hours), of whom might be interesting to find out if I had time.

Finally Asagi! OMG Teiichi’s grandmother was like WHAAAAAAAAAAAAT? Basically big shock to reveal but it makes sense at least. Of that part I have to say all of it in the spoiler
was so happy that TT_TT. In fact I did that 3 times during this episode First was for Kirie, second was for the whole Yuuko x Teiichi part and final ones is the part in the spoiler. Simply the hug, Yuuko’s happy expressions and the BGM were all fine or plain so amazing it’s OVER 9000 for me.

Indeed if Yuuko did not save Asa, Teiichi would never be born as Asa would never give birth to one of the sexes that would give birth to him. See the whole thing and how it pays off to change history. In regards to that I recommend:
http://myanimelist.net/anime/5597/Natsu_no_Arashi!
A good series that shows how it changes things too.

Finally a worrisome thing happens in the spoiler
FORESHADOW! Yuuko crossing over therefore disappearing?
Certainly alludes to it after the credits. They could end the series like that but it would suck shit for Teiichi.

I leave it like that with a big butthurt of time problems cause this series is really worth investing some graphics work but with no time that does not happen.

BTW End Art in the spoiler
WOW MOE! The MOE is amazing with the art style of Yuuko there. Truly enticing to say the least of it.

It will be bad and bittersweet... I knew it, damn it. So, yeah, based on the stuff after ED, it will be sad. The last episode, that is.

"Welcome back, me."

Yuuko finally reconnects with her past and becomes whole again. It turns out that Yuuko and Teiichi are connected via his grandmother, Asa. So, that explains how Teiichi could see Yuuko even though he isn't related to her by blood.

Quite a touching episode, especially when Yuuko and Teiichi were outside walking in the snow, after Yuuko becomes one. Yuuko's seiyuu Yumi Hara singing the ED this time was also a very nice touch.

Great episode! I'm so happy this show followed the story I wanted it to. And I'm happy Teiichi-kun made that decision<3

It's also cute that Teiichi-kun's grandma is Asagi. ")

The bell at the end was kind of scary though... I guess we're gonna see the repercussions of the reunification.

Another strong episode
I thought it was the end already, but 1 more to go
Somehow I suspected Asa having some kind of relation to Teiichi
The scenes around the end were beautiful

I didn't wish for this kind of ending for this anime... =( I guess it was somewhat to be expected but that doesn't mean I have to like it =/ But oh well, I suppose it's good that Yuuko is able to move on... *tearing up*

Generally this episode was really great, it was interesting to see how Yuuko reacted to Teiichi's touch, not being able to see him anymore. But I have to admit I'm a bit disappointed in the way how she was able to accept her other self, it all happened kinda too fast and "easily"... or something... something left me unsatisfied :P

Gonna watch the final episode tomorrow~

Now I'm dying to know how things will go in the manga o_O the plot's so far apart now that I'm really curious how it will end up ><

So Yuuko can accept her bad parts because Teiichi doesn't mind? o.O What was her reason to cast away her negative emotions and memory in the first place? It feels way too easy, it's like "I can overcome my trauma because someone I love doesn't mind it." lolwut it doesn't make much sense.

The revelation at the end tho.

Wow Kirie went full tsundere on Teiichi and smacked some sense into him.

Looks like Yuuko and Shadow Yuuko have now become one and Yuuko has now accepted her memories.

Don't know why but I expected Yukariko to have died to the plague.

Glad those crazed villagers died. They deserved it for killing Yuuko. That explains all those names that were on the Rock of Curses.

ASA IS TEIICHI'S GRANDMA?! WHAT A TWIST! Seems almost a little too convenient in my opinion.

Good episode.

7.5/10 Next episode is the finale. It doesn't look like there's much left to the story. I wonder what this anime has left to throw at us?

I see that you all are talking about that Teiichi is Asas grandson, and Asa was Yuukos friend, etc.

Maybe someone said it but with quick search i didn't saw that.
But did you all thinked about this? - that if Yukariko Kanoe is younger sister of Yuuko and grandmother of Kirie, than Yuuko is Kiries Great-Aunt :O

Maybe at the end of this episode it's self aware, but still i didn't saw one saying that, but for me it was interesting thing.

I had this anime in my shelf for more than a year since I really dislike horror animes, I regret it now so much.

The drama and intensity of each revelation is on par with A+ animes out there like Kimi no na wa.

I just hope it will still be a happy ending.

Well, cam't say that Yuuko passing on won't be for the best... I mean, how long can you be with a highschool girl that is technically dead and can't leave the school grounds, before problems arise :p...

I enjoyed the flip in this time Yuuko being the one not able to see Teiichi. Really satisfying conclusion to Yuuko reuniting with herself and facing her past memories. I really liked Yuuko saying her suffering wasn't meaningless because she saved Asa and got to meet Teiichi because of it. Thought that was really endearing. But the foreshadowing with the bell at the end of the episode. :( Expecting a bittersweet ending with Yuuko moving on.

This episode was so beautiful! I loved the part with the notebook!

It was heartbreaking when Yuuko could not see Teiichi. It was like when she forgot him in episode 8, but much worse because she was suffering the whole time. At 4 minutes in, when she was sitting in the corner next to Teiichi's desk, I wanted to hug her so bad.

I shed many a manly tear during this episode.

I didnt like the first half of the episode though. He was so useless and so depressed, i dont like this type of men.

I feel the need to repeat what has been said before: Teiichi is not a man. He is a 13-year-old boy, with no special skills, faced with supernatural menace he does not understand. He does his best. He is brave when it counts.

i REALLY want the best ending for yuuko and teiichi, especially after all the things they had to go through :/

i would really rage if they go for a bittersweet ending...

I feel this. I was praying to all the gods for a good ending for Yuuko and Teiichi.

Blue_Monday said:
Although I wouldn't say a relationship with Kirie is altogether implausible, Kirie would have to go on always knowing Teiichi was only with her because he couldn't have Yuuko.

Another way to see it is this: Teiichi met Yuuko first. He was already in love with her when he met Kirie. It would be completely unreasonable for Kirie to expect Teiichi to dump his girlfriend and be with Kirie instead just because she showed up. It is still conceivable that, if Yuuko were not there, Kirie and Teiichi could be happy together.

Striderfang said:
All I can say is "Motha trukin Teiichi!!!". I giv Teiichi the award for best male character at crying for this season.

I agree so much! I usually do not like male characters like this - I prefer them strong, confident and resourceful. Teiichi is a rare male character who turns weakness into strength. I love him and feel with him because he is not powerful but he still tries.

He and Yuuko deserve good things.

The moment Teiichi became conscious and Yuuko found out that he inherited the memories he got from Shadow Yuuko through touch, she activated her selective memory and straight up deleted her cognition of him as a result. It must've been frustrating to not be able to see the person you always spend your time with all of a sudden while being fully aware that they're there with the only way of communicating was through writing. I know that feeling...

Somehow, the bell tower's ambiance gave Kirie the idea that posing like someone who has 8th-Grader Syndrome would be a great idea~ It's a surprise that Yukariko was in the school the whole time and kept her pictures with Asa-chan all along. Okonogi also ended up helping Teiichi realize the solution by giving him those 20th century Grave of the Fireflies candy to him. Teiichi pretty much forced her to notice him and actually made Shadow Yuuko's hatred wane by showing her that Teiichi really does care and feel sorry for her too.

Both sides of Yuuko came to a mutual understanding and finally came back together. The outcome wasn't bad at all and Teiichi drops the revelation that he's actually Asa-chan's grandson making his relation with Yuuko not be as random as initially thought but it means that her unfinished business is already taken care of and she's ready to move on whether she likes it or not...

So, we have conclusion and then we get a cheap drama part in the end to set up another story arc. Also the last epsiode should have been called Dusk Maiden of Amnesia. It's so obvious what's going to come in the last episode...

Episode was very emotionally charged, I thought the interactions between Shadow Yuuko and Teiichi was excellent, and I am glad he was able to accept her, and best of all.. she was able to accept herself.

Now, I'm hoping for a good resolution.

That talk with Kirie at around 08:00 is just hilarious.. ;P She's so much Jojo posing or something.. ;p Guess, it's a parody for dramatic talks.. ;p
And later Kirie continues to Jojo pose.. ;p
Well, I didn't really feel the scene where both of her sides made up.. But I didn't expect anything too great in this part anyway.. Well, it got resolved, I just don't find characters too clicking with me.. But it still everything is done alright.. I think I'm about 7-8 about this anime now before final episode.. It's ok in itself, done objectively not bad, but I don't really like characters that much, even if they have qualities I like..
