Damn, those girls must feel very cold in weather like.

Well this episode felt more like a test imo for them. Not the test to see if the pass but if they can work together under difficult circumstances. I think overall, they did work together well especially when trying to stay warm under that cold weather.

So the Neuroi this time was a very cold one.
The girls finding that KV2 to hide in was nice it's turret was way to big which caused lots of trouble on the front but it's perfect for hiding from a blizzard.
And eventually they managed to beat the Neuroi.

Also the cooking part of this episode was funny.

Why would they get OUT of an igloo and into a KV2? Pretty dumb decision as METAL IS A GOOD THERMAL CONDUCTOR. Snow and ice is reflective enough to hold the heat in.

They should have shown the girls opening the hatch or some vents when in the tank, because you'd guess otherwise they would have suffocated with that campfire.

Again an underwhelming episode in my opinion. There is so much more potential to this setting that what we've been shown so far.

Not really, and those things aren't exactly airtight. A clean burning fire won't make much smoke at all, and it was small. The original series had a lot of casual episodes early on for character development and so on as well.

...Why doesn't Yoshika get called in to heal up Hikari's sister?

I'm not really convinced, I wouldn't try that at home. But anyway the point was that the whole episode was pretty poorly done. They should have went back to the base to call for reinforcements, and Shimohara wanting to prove her worth didn't felt like a good enough reason for their foolhardiness. Then leaving the igloo for the tank was stupid. And the final fight felt kinda stupid to me too.

Yoshika can't heal everything either, and they clearly want Hikari's sister to stay unable to fight for plot, so they just have to say "She can't be healed right away, end of discussion.".

Hikari is really dedicated. There was no hesitation to hurt herself to allow Georgette to heal her, even thought that makes no sense at all.

Shimohara was once under the care of Sakamoto before, she even said out Sakamoto's favourite slogan "nothing is impossible for a witch":)

Members might not really understand why Hikari and Georgette congratulated Shimohara after the neuroi died eventhou the 3 of them defeat it together. There is actually a killing records something like whoever deal the most final blow to the neuroi and the killing count will goes to her, when she reach a certain killing amount she will receive the badge of honor some kind.

demn .. with those clothes no wonder you get cold in snow but the "sharing body heat part" is good.. georgette is adorable, despite being shy ,she's doing her best to help her team like cleaning their rooms ofcors .. and shimohara good in cooking and that ability in her eyes is quite cool thou . I didn't even bother to mermorize their name in the previous episodes but now I will ..

If there's a cold front and snow heading in, I don't think I'd be going out in my swimsuit or underwear... no wonder they froze!

Cute episode, I like the interactions between the characters, although they do seem pretty hopeless for an elite unit :) I don't know why the Neuroi seem to be regarded as such a threat, they only seem to be a minor irritant in this series so far.

They need more than one chef. I don't want to eat the "Mystery Soup X" myself if it was the only food left on earth. >_<

Still, it was a pretty good episode though. The Neuroi was a lot more unique than the ones we've seen in Brave Witches so far and it almost screwed over Karibuchi, Georgette and Shimohara. But thanks to some knowledgeable survival skills, the girls were able to weather the storm, get themselves flying again and used their makeshift weapons to defeat the Neuroi.

Next week does look interesting though, potentially looking into one of the characters backstory. Looking forward to it. =)

Only flaw I undigested, is the haste in making close the case in question, the narrative could better articulate and make it more interesting and even more addictive. But I want to commend the friendliness and humor expressed by the characters. Drawings and animations, more than good. Too bad for the CG not excellent, beautiful scenarios and catchy soundtrack.

I thought it was cool to see a KV2. I liked the strategy the trio used to vanquish the Neuroi, as unlikely as it may be, but then again, we're watching a show about flying teen witches in panties with mechanical/magical leggings.

This episode is great, and it seems the next episode is all about Aleksandra (kind of like that episode we had on season 1 of strictly about Minna), so I'm looking forward to it. My guess as to the reason they didn't call Yoshika is because the military haven't realized how powerful her magic is yet. The only ones who do have knowledge is the whole of the 501st wing and Akagi. Also because the military wants to keep everything hush hush and Rall also keeping takami's hospitalization a secret. It's probably only after season 2 that Yoshika got famous for having powerful healing magic, but this is just my guess.

This was a pretty good and enjoyable episode actually
It was that that they featured two of the support characters and expanded upon them while at the same time reinforcing Hikari's personality.

Hmm so Georgette is avoiding Hikari because she's shy eh
we all been there so i understand how she feels

The medic is shy while the cook is conscious of being called the best cook
and the medic also cleans as well
man she has such a kind personality

Wow Georgette's healing abilities are pretty good
seeing the bump just shrink and vanish like that in a few seconds is really cool
But it looks like using her abilities tire her out as well

It must be hard on Hikari on not being able to tell the rest of the
girls about her ability to use contact eye though
still her excuse of doing stretches was funny

Hikari's ability to bond with just about anyone is actually
quite amazing.

And Shinohana like Georgette while not as powerful in combat have their
own unique skills that they use to support the squadron.
There's no need to feel inferior about it.

wow the whole town was frozen over
Thats one hell of a power the enemy has
to control the weather i mean

Hmm its nice to see that Sana was able to make a split decision on
whether to fight or run though
Still i think they should have fallen back tbh

Man using the weather as a weapon
that Neroi was a tough one

man being shot down and landing in the middle of a blizzard as well
things look bad so far

Georgette's slap was right on though
you can blame yourself later after you save Hikari Sada

Lol Kano is such a tsunadere

Lol sharing body heat eh
well whatever works in this case lol
Hikari's face though lol

ah so the reason that Georgette always avoided Hikari was not just because she
was shy but also because she felt guilt of not being able to heal Takami

Its nice that all three of them managed to become friends after this ordeal
though

Its good fortune that they found that tank though
and that Sada found something to burn to create a fire
though with only biscuits its not much

Lol back at the base
hilarity ensures as they try to serve food when Sada isn't here
That soup doesn't really look edible lol
and using up all of Edytha's rare ingredients as well
no wonder she's angry

Its lucky that they actually found the relic gun from the soviet era to
shelter inside though

hmm using bows and arrows as weapons instead eh

Wow injuring yourself deliberately to allow Georgette to use her magic to
unfreeze the unit
thats some determination

That was good teamwork there
knocking out the enemy with bow and arrows and flammable materials
and Hikari managed to make two more friends as well

lol Edytha's chide at Waltruds cooking skills

Levi is also healer. Lol tsundere's bump gets healed.
Hikari quite brave, smart (?) to bump her head for heals. Full metal tank looks very cold.
Reverting to homemade explosives & arrows was an interesting tactic.

The whole "character development" scene made no sense to me. I don't understand why she was shy. What was the deal with the entire "conflict" at all. Maybe it was just rushed.

Taking off clothes doesn't automatically give off body heat. You need to contain that heat with the person you are trying to warm up. That means warping BOTH you and her in the same clothes to trap that body heat. This is just a stupid excuse for fan service.(Though I actually enjoyed it :P)
Though it could of been worse. At least they tried to make it more subtle and didn't focus on ti so much.

And KV-2! yay. Overall the idea to take out the neuroi wasn't such a bad idea, but I really doubt a small combustible and a fire arrow will really be enough to take out a neuroi.

this mission was interesting overall. Could of been expanded in to more detail spanning at least 2 episodes. Which would of been great. Instead this felt like another one neuroi per episode format they always do. Which really takes away the plot points used. I understand Strike witches typically goes for character development, but so far I haven't seen them ever succeeding in that. So might as well emphasize on the combat mission and how they complete it... Like you know? Most war shows. In fact such teamwork allow more subtle and less cliche development.
The best way of developments are subtle one you don't notice until when the series is over and the viewer reflects back when the show first started.

Perhaps a bit too hasty the part of narration in which there is air combat, but the fact that there has been a very accurate strategy behind the defeat of the enemy, is an element that must not be underestimated in an anime. Overall it was not a bad episode, at least we understand Jose's attitudes towards Hikari and we know the characters of her and Sadako. The new ending is always catchy.

Ah, that healer witch and a chef witch. They both held the same identity from Miyafuji. Lol.

Georgette. From these episode, she confessed that its not her shyness that caused her ignoring Hikari for the whole time. Its because her failure to healed Hikari's sister in a better situations back at episodes two. Its glad seeing her confessed the reason, they both already reach a nice term of relation after that confession. Meanwhile with Sadako, its good seeing her at a good sense again after having such a bad emotion due to her 'desperation'. Well, its actually not your all mistakes. Its just your unfortunate that led you all into that kind of situation. So, if you all could be cooperated in a nice way, the result would be satisfied you in the end.

So, here they were, Georgette and Sadako, a duo witches that had a nice ability on their bodies. What a clever idea by Sadako, using their little resources they had to overcome a cold situations into their advantages. At first, its looks like they might've failed again. However, with a hardwork they showed to me and a great team works thanks to Hikari's effort, until reaching that pretty dramatic end, finally they could defeat the Neuroi that caused an anomaly in the air. A little glimpse of the reaction from the rest of the girls, pointed out that how glad they were having them all back to the HQ safely. Nice!

And Krupinski is playboy, I guess?.. Or playgirl..
And Georgette avoids Hikari for some reason..
And Shimohara is the cook.. Which she doesn't like for some reason.. Well, maybe she feels that she's being as if praised that she'd better stay on the kitchen instead of fighting, or something?.. I have no idea.. You can be great cook and great Witch at the same time, really.. But maybe we'll see, what is bothering Shimohara..
And if you have skill to see further.. It is quite useful in battle skill, Shimohara.. Though, I like this a bit of drama.. That character is not sure in his strength and how useful he is..
Ah, so Georgette felt guilty for not being able to heal Takami.. Ok, understood..
Well, maybe the best team work we saw this season.. Well, how it feels to me.. ;P Hikari, Shimohara and Georgette should group more in the future, to be honest.. ;P
Also sweet dinner together.. Seems like group finally feels like a family.. Sweet.. ;P

I think these witches are finally growing on me. They are not very welcoming to Hikari, but I think they will all get along soon enough. Brave witches seems to be more dramatic than SW, but brave witches lacks the fan service and yuri that SW has.

Maybe it's just me but the members of the 502nd are weaker than the members of the 501st, what do you guys think?

Edit: I think Hartmann could use Georgette to clean her room for her lol.

Better than the first four episodes, but still not great. Best part was Krupinski's cooking, and that's because having seen the series adds context to the Krupinski/Rossman dynamic. Like, "what was Krupinski really doing in Rossman's room ;)"
