| My question is in the topic. I don't mind marathoning Strike Witches but I need to know if its something I should do |

| Original spin off series so can't really say. Though a couple of the main characters have made appearances in Strike Witches. Doesn't really feel necessary though. |
| It's highly recommended you do. Don't find excuses to not watch something great, even if you watch the original 2 series just for the movie, because that movie is outstanding. That said it doesn't seem to be imperative. |

| Yes I really recommend you go watch the old witches series. 1 Strike witches 2 Strike witches 2 3 Operation victory arrow 4 movie The story is fun especially season 2 and the movie, exciting part is when they face the final boss in every series. Interaction between the characters are also the best, you might even find one of them your favourite:) |

| No you don't "have to". You'll fully be able to understand the universe and it's characters. You'll certainly just miss some cameos or winks that could be made to the fan during the show so this is not a problem. I don't know if you should, but if you enjoy the first episodes of Brave Witches, yes I think you should give a try to the first series. SW1, then SW2. After that you have the movie and the Operation Victory Arrow episodes. Movie -> OVA is the release order while OVA -> Movie is the chronological order. Do what you want with this. |
| You don't have to but I'd definitely recommend it I mean the characters are all different but you'll get a ton more depth and information about the world itself that way (plus Strike Witches was actually a pretty good show in the end anyway, especially the movie) |

| If you "don't mind marathoning Strike Witches" then by all means do so. Brave Witches is a spin-off of Strike Witches not a sequel to it, so it'll stand alone as a series, meaning that a Strike Witches marathon isn't strictly necessary, but why deny yourself a pleasure to which you're already inclined? |

| I checked the OP's list and he's now finished all of Strike Witches, and gave it 7's across the board. Happy ending. There's an inherent appeal in watching shows as they air, along with everyone else, while everyone is talking about them. In this case, to catch up chronologically, only the original 12-episode series is needed, so even people with large backlogs can do it. I've been trying to encourage newcomers to watch Brave Witches regardless, though, because the show was intended to attract new fans, and if anyone's saying "I'll either watch just BW for now or none of SW at all," then yeah, please watch Brave Witches. |
