So they did go for a grand performance of sorts, at least for the first half. They sure put a lot of budget into the lights and dance movements on stage.

Dem memories.

Holy Stage for 51, please make it happen!!! Omg, the clips of recollection totally nailed it, so much feels.. All the songs were great in this episode, the performance was awesome. Ahhh I love this show so much, I am so gonna miss the cast..

The call for encore feels like it's voicing my thought.

It was funny, I actually thought they were gonna confirm season 3 after the encore chanting and they did :P

First half of the episode was kind of slow with the self-introductions and the performance wasn't anything special. However, the second half made up for it. Liked both performances by the trio followed by Kakeru and Amaki duo. It seriously tingled! XD

The recollection of the idols' journey in Shounen Hollywood were nice. Wished the Presidents showed up too.

I was hoping for a new song in their last performance instead of them using the OP song. If the studio intended to use it anyways, they could've omitted the OP in the beginning. Hearing the same song twice in one episode can be a bit tedious.

Overall, decent show but quality wise, it's the same as S1. But this season had some of the better episodes though.

I think it was more like a tease rather than confirmed. I highly doubt a sequel would happen, it sold pretty badly.

Finally they showed their concert~ and I loved it it. My favorite parts being Kakeru and Maki's Tingle song~ >.< and the last part showing like a home video of them growing up as idols to where they are now. I am so going to miss this show and how dare they tease me about a season 3 when it's very unlikely that it may happen, though I wouldn't mind I would so watch it~ ^O^

The concert was a nice way to end the series and the surprise video was touching. :) 7/10

I hate them for hinting at a season 3... There's no way we'll get one.

Too cruel right...

Beautiful last episode. All the performances were sooo fun to watch (loved the outfits), especially the sub-units ones. The Tingle song was too cool and catchy, perfect for Makki and Kakeru. And the video was so emotional and touching, I love seeing them grow and their experiences. I wish the episode was longer so we could watch the whole concert, but it was still a great way to end the series. Again, I smiled the whole way through, and although I'm not a huge fan of Holly Trip, I did like watching them perform it. ENCOOORE please T_T I'll miss this so much. Especially Makki haha.

Wow, they actually did all the dancing in 2D drawings instead of 3D.

I've seen so many anime just cop out on scenes like that, so this was refreshing.

Overall, I liked this season a lot more than the previous one.

Ahhhhh-

My heart was tingling, from the beginning. I was overwhelmed by this urge to cry and laugh and sing with them.

It really has been a wonderful ride with ShoHolly ; A ; I loved seeing all the costumes and the various performances, it was great.

(Hopefully someone will make a MAD for the second season because there was a really fantastic one for the first season)

I get the idea that this didn't sell very well, however. A third season is unlikely then, looking at all the comments above..? I would really love to see more of the boys.

All in all, the second season did well! T u T

They gave us a full performance for the last episode. Beautiful.

And when Kakeru and Makki did Makki's theme song, Jingi Green, I was so excited and loved the performance. It was my favorite ED. <3

The clips were nice. Ah... I'm going to miss this series, male idols and 2D performances...

I doubt there's S3. S2 was a miracle enough considering the sales of season 1. And now that they're disbanded, it will probably be new members so it won't be the same even if they do have another cour.

They did not disband. Last episode we found out that Shime and God had played a 'prank' on them of sorts to bring out their true spirit or something like that.

Loved how the performance opened up with Hello Sekai.
Great job Shounen Hollywood!
The video of flashbacks was so heart warming. Ahhh I'm going to miss it.
What a touching ending T~T
So there's going to be a 51?

Wow, that was surprisingly a very good ending episode. And finally, we were able to see the concert. That surprise video was a nice touch too! This really made me smile from start to end. I hope that there will be a sequel! Very underrated show.

The animation for the choreography was really nice!! It was a satisfying ending, I think. It would be nice if there were a third season... But not likely since this series did pretty badly. But if they ever are able to make a third season, I'd definitely watch it! The show is okay overall, but it's just that I've grown attached to our main guys. I'd like to see them keep growing together~ But it was a solid ending! Maybe someday we'll get another season~

Last episode already... Nice animation. Some poses were weird tho, too real (for example - the buys glancing sideways during their 2nd performance. There were some derp faces as well) Let's Party is one of my favs from this show so it was nice to hear that. The song after that party one was decent, more or less. I liked Amaki and Kakeru's costumes esp.

I liked dat movie. It was nice and felt nostalgic. Also, Makki really is the best boy.

Man, I am going to miss this show. it was a great slice of life in true words. Shame it's underrated but it's understandable. Show's not for everyone. Most of the guys will avoid it. The girls will not find the guys attractive enough, so few will stick with it. Shame they are missing something good.

Wish we could see the group members' expressions on hearing the word "encore" I mean, it is a special feeling so I thought they would show their faces but I guess, there was too less time for that. The episode felt incomplete as a result but oh well. 8.5/10 for this show.

; -; (sobbing ugly tears)

It's already been 4 days since I've seen the last episode and I'm still feeling bitter sweet about it. After (maybe) 5 minutes into the episode I was already crying ugly tears.. thinking about it being over just overwhelmed me.. (sigh) (probably because I've grown so attached to them).

THIS was the last episode I've always wanted ;_; That was so good. The cracker song was adorable lmfao

I have to admit, I found myself pretty bored when watching this series sometimes, but overall- it's a pretty decent slice of life. I'll miss these kiddos, but it's been a good ride.

First I'd like to say, this is one of the best shows this year. I really want to score it higher than an 8 but it's lacking in a lot of components that bring it down like consistency and pacing.

I must say, the last episode was really impressive. Even if it was a 1:1 concert, the pacing felt really well done and it induced "the feels". Also, good repetoire. They actually added new songs. Holly Trip was a weird choice as the encore though! I would have picked another song.

But yeah, excellent overall!

Third season? Hell yeah~

I'd just like to say how impressed I am with the quotes from this show.

I agree :) Especially all those Kakeru inner-thoughts throughout the series, which were interesting, thought-provoking, or just relatable.

This is the episode they should have started with.

The animation wasn't always the best, but it was ok and there was a lot of it. All those individual dance moves. They must have spent so much of their resources on this. But the only ones that will appreciate it are those of us that have followed the show to the end. And judging from sales and popularity we're not that many.

It did look like an announcement at the end, but given the lousy sales of both discs and associated goods I just can't see it happening.

this episode was just what I hoped it would be!! perfect
that encore ending was so eerie tho... it was like they were talking to us... like the makers were saying "it's okay that shonen hollywood is coming to the end, it's just the beginning of a new adventure"
pretty well thought out actually

8/10 for Makki and for the music and for everything!!! much better than s1 :)))

Sooo we're in 2022 now, 7 years later. I just completed the 2 first seasons but it feel like stage 51 or any sequel adaptation will not happening anytime soon

tvtropes.org said:
The series received a sequel in the form of the web serial Shounen Hollywood -HOLLY STAGE FOR 51- on the Future Orange fanpage, but was taken down shortly after the fanpage expired. After the fundraiser and premiere for "HOLLY STAGE FOR YOU" went successfully, the creators announced that they'd be willing to do a third season of the anime, HOLLY STAGE FOR 52. Another crowdfunding effort went up in mid-2019 for audio adaptations of 51 and said possible third season, with the whole project retitled Shounen Hollywood 2020; this project also saw to a successful funding campaign. 51 is now a seven-track audio book, and the original prose recollected as a limited edition bonus for purchasing all tracks.

In late 2018, an announcement went up for a mobile game: Kaijou Hollywood, which features an entirely new cast of characters.

Nice performance, but overall this season was much weaker than the first one. Too many boring/annoying episodes.

That backstory episode (2) about the first Shounen Hollywood group and Cat was easily the best episode.

This Christmas concert was what I was expecting for the season 1 finale, but it's fitting to have it here (given they knew at the time they'd get another season and it brings things full circle at the end here). Bonus points for the effort they put into the animation. The heads looked very weird, but they didn't rely on CG. It's a shame that it's been a decade since this finished airing and chances are less than zero that there'll be a Holly Stage for 51, because there's still so much left that this series could've further explored: Kakeru's relationship with his family, Makki's attempt to win Cat over, their continued rise to stardom, stalking or other issues that could come with the career, etc. The president in particular had a lot of untapped potential as a character, but I really enjoyed what I got and am glad I watched this series on a whim. I can honestly see myself making it a tradition of sorts to rewatch this around the holidays.
