That performance was fabulous! I don't know what to say... Chiaki is amazing and incredible skills there. He motivated Nodame to practice and that itself is impressive.

Nodame got raped by him alreaedy near the end, he was sitting on top of her xD My OTP got such a nice moment.

That episode was just perfect. Even if I would have wanted to hear more from the melody, it was just so beautiful, it gave me goosebump...

I guess he really deserve his title of genius.

Celebrate for four days... Our old jiji is still the same old perverted he is xD

I really hope Chiaki will do a concerto with Nodame, I'm sure he's the only one that can addapt to her. They also have such a good chemisty.

Saiko's a bitch. Only when he became famous, she start to have more interrest in him and she even manipulate other men just to bother her rival...

Hmm, didnt liked that episode much.
Like 5 min. were only the concert. I'm still forcing myself to watch this series. The end was pretty funny with nodame and chiaki.
But im still waiting until the romance between them begins. Compared to Itazura na kiss it takes forever.

The music in this episode was amazing. Loved every bit of it.

Don't really like Saiko that much especially when she did that petty thing to Suganuma.

Last few minutes were hilarious and made me feel good inside.

It made me want to go and learn an instrument.

And the ending was funny! Shinichi is such a sweetie but in a very weird way :P he has a soft spot for nodame :D

I've recorded Rachmaninov concerts before--professionally--but I wish I could have recorded THIS performance. It was like none of the regional orchestras I've recorded in northeast USA. It had SOUL. The animation was ratcheted up a lot, too, which made the visuals do it justice. Overall, this is becoming one of my favorite series.

Damn, that performance was certainly something. I used to be in an orchestra back in high school and the feeling of being on stage after a wonderful performance is a feeling I really miss. This episode certainly brought back those memories.

Saiko's so confused, lol.

The episode started very serious like but became really funny in the end . I was Lmfao at the last scene ...
There’s no hope on the battlefield.
It has nothing but unspeakable despair.
Just a crime we call victory, paid for by the pain of the defeated.
Yet humanity has never recognized this truth.
And the reason for that is, in every era,
a dazzling hero has blinded people with their legends and prevented them from seeing the evil of bloodshed.
The true nature of humanity has not advanced a step beyond the Stone Age!

THIS EPISODE IS AMAZING.

Chiaki played the piece so well. I also play piano, but... HE'S 100000X BETTER THAN ME.

The animation is accurate. The positions of his hands are not random. The music is beautiful too.

Noda-chan was inspired. She never gave up, but didn't take a bath for days, lol!

Chiaki's girlfriend was insecure. And she saw how Chiaki and Noda close to each other.

Such a great episode!! Loved every bit of it. The Rachmaninoff was so amazing. Even though animation is not the strongest point of this anime, but the music is outstanding. You can see that they did a great job on music recording. Yet the instrument movement during the concert was really on point.

I'm in love with this Nodame Contabile, nothing to say!

Loved the music. The old man is slowly getting likable too. The only complaint I have so far is that the show is focusing too much on Chiaki. Noda needs some attention too.

I may have absolutely no clue about classical music, but I enjoyed the performance quite a bit.

Poor Nodame, tho, she was so dedicated, she even ended up like that, even tho that scene was presented in a comically manner it was still sad to see for me.

Had to lol at the dinner scene, never get tired of Chiakis way to care for her.

After seeing Hibike! Euphonium, I do find the animation, especially the CGI of the instruments to be pretty awkward... It doesn't bother me that much, I know when it was produced, but still. The music on the other hand was absolutely perfect :3

I kinda get Saiko and her personality, I don't think she's THAT terrible for typical ex-girlfriend... but it's also pretty clear that Chiaki's gonna fall for the more passionate person, Nodame.

Chiaki's performance was amazing, just straight up amazing, however, to me, Nodame's was better. Poor Chiaki, taking care of that old geezer for 4 straight days. Well, he's gone now. That girl is still going after Chiaki I see, that's fine whatsoever, since she just saw Chiaki's relationship with Nodame with her own eyes.

This episode was notable in introducing me and many others to Rachmaninoff.
The fact that they dedicated a little over eight minutes to it was a bold decision.
Also, wished we could've seen Suganuma's performance. Fantastic episode.

Ahhh, yessss! This was no doubt the best episode yet. I can't believe how much time was given to that performance and it was worth every second! Also, great story development and a bit more of a complexity presented with the ex and all, making it just that much more interesting now. Loving the pacing of this show and the characters are all so great!

They actually featured a good chunk of the first movement. The phase-out didn't feel off, either. Colour me surprised but that was actually really nice. The rest of the show is still not good unfortunately. Bland "characters" in the character-driven story doesn't work. I skimmed through the comments here and some people seem to appreciate the animation. I saw a lot of stills and bad CGI. I feel like I went into this with the wrong expectations and now I'm just disappointed at almost every turn...

It was a pretty good episode to finish the first half of this season.

Chiaki's performance, Nodame moments. This episode was just perfect. I'm going to give 9/10 to the first half.

Goosebumps for Rach's 2nd piano concerto as usual. Not my top Rach's piece but whenever you need to show the rigorousness and longingness of classical romantic that's capable of moving me to actual tears, just use this piece and it'll work like a charm. I wasn't the biggest fan of cutting that last part of the 1st movement but it was alright, we did get to the climax after all. (Also I fucking adore those wide shots of the entire orchestra, and those sideway pianist close-ups, definitely a big, big plus.)

Also I'm glad Nodame was moved enough that she decided to take music more seriously now. It's quite evident in the first episode when mountains of trash can be seen on the piano proves how she just does not give a single shit. I hope she will stop being just a comedic character (albeit very adorable) and become a more serious one after this.

Chiaki's performance was incredibly emotive, it's likely that he's secretly person who's most crushed about Stresemann leaving Japan.

It's always a risky play to overpraise the MC to the point where they become flawless and barely experience any hardship, in this case so far I really don't mind seeing Chiaki being an overly perfect character, it's always fun to see him leave the biggest impressions on side-characters, regardless of that, it's pretty predictable that Nodame will be on his level at some point.
