| Well, seems this will be a zombie apocalypse type of show but this time it's a pyro zombie. Considering all the similarities, might as well insert the "It's been 5 years" line, because why not ? |

| I know a lot f people ave already said it, but I will say it again. This series reminds me a lot of Attack On Titan. Which isnt a bad thing. I really like the steampunk and historic Japanese aesthetic, which has been surprisingly blended well together. The world itself looks interesting and I hope the world building is done properly. Ideas for shows like this will only happen in anime, no other medium could have the balls to tell something like this. The MC is better than the average shounen protag, but that isnt a hard feat, lets hope it stays that way though. The animation, however is literally amazing. The artstyle is so beautiful and the colours are gorgeous. Some people are complaining about the character design but I actually really like it. The detail when they draw female characters hair and eyes is so, so appealing. The pacing is a bit fast, not too fast, and this is good anyway as it makes the anime more thrilling and action packed. So far, this anime is actually good. |
| From this first episode what can I say. Definitely stunning visuals and animation, for me also likeable characters so far and I absolutely love the music. You can't ignore the fact that this has a lot of AoT vibes, with the walls, the zombies who try to kill humanity, but you can't go wrong with that. Pacing is faster as I expected but the action and the fight scenes looked so good. There were a lot of gory scenes but it fits well. I just hope they will explain more about how all of that happened. I can't believe the MC didn't die there. I'm not exactly sure what he did. How did he manage to stop the virus and what ensured the virus to go away? Maybe it has something to do with the green stone he was holding? Or was it really just his inner will? At any case that was a badass scene with such an amazing OST in the background. Wow that little girl can fight. With one kick she beheaded the zombie. Didn't seem she had any problems. I'm excited to see what will happen next and how the story will develope. |

| The animation is really good especially the fight scenes! Hope to see an explanation on the next episodes how he stopped the virus from spreading. And I’m digging Mumei’s slippers! I have a feeling she’s gonna be a bad ass character. |
| Watched the first episode after reading a particularly negative review of this show on this site. Seems good to me so far. Apparently it's gonna go off the rails though, so we'll see! |

| Wow, great first episode. Engaging and exciting from beginning to end (just like AOT). Although the infected train breaking through seems like a weak writing point. The art style is something new, and it's pleasant to see. It captures the time period that the show is in. Also, the Kabane looks awesome—zombies on steroids. Getting a mix of AOT and Bioshock Infinite vibes. |

So mc somehow lives. plot armor kun strikes again. should have lowered the bridge only after train stops. it is shitty planning. also new mc backstory somehow that wants you to care about him suddenly. dropped. |

| I've memories of starting this one, but the reason of being unable to go past the very first episode has to do with how plagiarized similar the plot feels like to god knows how many shows. No it's not even similar.. it's just a complete knockoff. Like don't even have to mention the names lol. Anyways nothing to gain from complaining after all these years but it is what it is. Though hey I already don't like how main character sounds here, but wait, is it even possible to stop the flow of virus like the way dude did in the end??? No, right? Hope they've a reasoning. This feels like a good gore spectacle, but aside from that.. uh.. can't think at this moment. Also do Kabanes have genitals, unlike their long lost brothers Kyojins?.. :) |

| Woah, what an epic way to start a series! Beautiful art, animation, music, and of course that interesting setting, mixing - in an unique way - post-apo with steampunk and coating everything in elements typical for the Edo period of Japan. I already like this show. |

| These people just think anyone is a Kabane? They suspected Ikoma of being one even when he didn't have a glowing exposed heart, ashen skin and an inability to speak. Given how quickly the virus speads, how would Ikoma be working as a smith all that time if he was a Kabane all along? Besides that weird detail, this looks good. Ikoma's house/workshop having elaborate contraptions and inventions all designed to counter the Kabane demonstrates just how prepared he is. Haven't seen much of Mumei yet, but she's cute enough, and fighting with spiked clogs isn't something you see every day. |

| Man, what I just watched was insane... why am I only watching this now? The episode completely blew me away, The way the anime is presented is super engaging.. the production quality is on a whole other level, I just hope it doesn’t let me down **story-wise. 9/10 |
| A lot of people ended up not liking this series apparently. Could be poor writing or whatever, but one educated guess that could be made straight out the gate is that there's just so much attack on titan DNA in this; you can't help but compare this clone to something superior. But I'm still gonna give it a chance, trying to remove any preconceived notions. So far, even though it is only the first episode (the first episodes unfortunately might be the best this show has to offer), it's pretty solid. But alas, I guess I can't help but compare it to AOT, so it must be done: and in doing so I got two nitpicks. One, these lava zombies are nowhere near as terrifying or intimidating as titans were. And two, we got some dumb decisions here. These guys are not newbies, they have entire systems in place to deal with the Kabane. They've created trains as battering rams and walled off entire stations to serve as their cities. So uh like, before a train actually enters their walls, why not have it stop outside, and give some kind of signal at least, instead of lowering the bridge immediately? I know we have to get the plot rolling, but have it done some other way instead of through dumb decisions. Like in AOT, they of course had their walled cities set up and everything, but there simply was nothing they could do, the forces against them were just too great. Here, all they had to do was NOT lower the bridge. Oh and there was that scene at the start of the episode where they're chasing the supposed infected guy, but then they ALL leave him and point their guns at Ikoma instead. Shouldn't you leave at least one guy with their gun aimed at the guy you think is infected? Oh well, they manage to kill him anyways, but still. That could've been risky. Whatever though, people will probably be smarter from here on out- right...?? Characters are alright, no one is exactly interesting so far. But it's only the first episode, I'll give it some room to breathe first. I will say that the scene with Ikoma trying to prevent the virus from reaching his brain went hard. Oh and Mumei is a cute OP anime girl so I guess we got enough fuel to keep going for now. Gonna hope for the best, and maybe even find that it's better than people say. Fingers crossed. |
