7 | ![]() | 86 This first season is amazing, and is not afraid to just kill off characters, and it makes you feel for people that you expect to survive but don't. It also shows the flip side of the kingdom who controls the 86, and how one person is trying to change it all. All the characters are interesting, the story is captivating, and the animation isn't terrible. | 10 | TV | 11
8 | ![]() | 86 Part 2 This part of 86 doesn't really focus on Lena, but focuses on the remaining 86 in spearhead, which honestly I think I prefer way more. It also shows them in a new kingdom, when we thought everyone outside the republic were dead, which is also amazing, and I love more that they are offered a new life. It was also nice seeing the characters finally want to live, and the ending where they finally meet Lena made me sob. | 10 | TV | 12

11 | ![]() | Akame ga Kill! Akame ga Kill is pretty good, even if Akame does literally nothing in the series and isn't the main character. I really love how this series isn't afraid to kill off main characters, and when it does, its emotional as fuck. I wont spoil anything, but I really like the ending, as it goes against the norm so much. BUT WHY IS THE NAME AKAME GA KILL WHEN SHE BARELY APPEARS AND DOES ANYTHING. EVEN SHE SAYS SHE SHOULD HAVE HAD MORE SCREENTIME IN THE SPINOFF. | 10 | TV | 24

14 | ![]() | Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai. This anime deals with both dealing with your childhood and growing up, and the loss of someone you love. It digs pretty deep into both topics. It shows that people grow apart, but things they mutually love can bring them back together. Really fucking good, all the characters are unique and it made me cry. | 10 | TV | 11

16 | ![]() | Ansatsu Kyoushitsu 2nd Season This was one of my first anime and man was it fucking awesome. The 2nd half of Assassination Classroom really ramps up, as class E has to take on the rest of the classes, and prove that they aren't the worst. On top of that this last season is EXTREMELY emotional as the students have to deal with the fact that after spending all this time with their teacher, they will have to kill him, which obviously was a goal since the start of the anime, but was put off as the students started to enjoy his company. I cried. A lot. | 10 | TV | 25

28 | ![]() | Bocchi the Rock! | 9 | TV | 12
29 | ![]() | Boku dake ga Inai Machi The main characters revive ability is never really explained, which I find a bit strange. I also always hate it when the protag travels through time or some shit but never tells anyone he did it (tbf I understand why he and most anime protags dont, they would sound fucking insane). I feel like the last few episodes after Kayo were kinda rushed, but didn't completely ruin the show for me, but I also kind of do hate it how it feels like they are trying to make Kayo's mother more sympathetic, even though she is a despicable human being. I also hate how Kayo just kind of disappears after the first 8 episodes, because I was really invested in her and the MC's relationship. What I really hate is the last 2 episodes, or in other words, the ending. I REALLY hate this ending. First off, I HATE timeskips. Timeskips are the laziest plot device and it adds so much more problems into shows. I was really invested into the show and there was so much momentum and tension that just got reset because of the timeskip. I always think that timeskips should only be at the beginning or the very end of a show, this is more of the middle (even if its the last two episodes), it time skips at the climax. I also hate Yashiro's motivations as a villain, but it doesn't bother me too much. One thing I REALLY FUCKING HATED in the show was how Kayo and Satoru's relationship was handled near the end of the show. We were so invested in their relationship throughout the story and how they became friends, but in the end she ended up with the femboy with who we knew barely anything about and they had a child. I get what the story is going for, that people move on, but damn did they do it poorly. Maybe if Kayo and the femboy kid had a relationship throughout the show it would be good, but after pushing Satoru and Kayo together, building up everyone's emotional investment just to ruin it, that fucking sucks. They could have made her stay single or at least show us the relationship with her and the femboy kid progressing. It wouldnt be too farfetched considering there is literal time travel. The ending is also just not satisfying. When a main character sacrifices themselves, its usually their choice, but the coma wasn't a sacrifice, that was something that just happened. It would be so much better if Satoru was given the choice of saving Misato or going into a coma, it would make it so much more interesting. A show like Steins;gate shows the main character sacrificing many things and it is HEARTBREAKING, but its GOOD. This just feels thrown in. Otherwise, everything else was good. The soundtrack is amazing, the plot is good for the first 8 episodes, the characters are interesting and you can get invested in them (the ones that we know for a while anyways), and the visuals were also amazing. EDIT: After making all these points, I found a youtube video that discusses the EXACT SAME POINTS AS ME which is funny as fuck but even more of a coincidence is that they also used Steins;gate as an example. Here is the video link for those interested: https://youtu.be/B2665NR6yxg | 8 | TV | 12

35 | ![]() | Boku no Hero Academia 6th Season Have watched till the 23rd episode as the final two have not come out yet, will update the notes/review and score as needed. Would give this a 9.5 if I could, I love how this season really shows the darker more grittier side to the My hero world, with the deaths of some of our favorite characters and the public turning on the heroes. It is also insane to see Midoriya start developing and using all of his quirks but also getting more and more brutal and terrifying to the people he is supposed to help. He also stops working with friends to protect them and I love the moment where Bakugo apologizes as it shows not only character development for Bakugo but also shows how Bakugo managed to work together as a team with UA while Midoriya is on his own. This season really emphasizes hopelessness and shows that even heroes can be broken. The Toya reveal wasn't really that surprising tbh I guessed this as far back as when he appeared, but it still hits a major plot point. Overall I love this gritty take on My hero and the scenes of Lady Nagant, the Toya reveal, All might crying, and Bakugo apologizing is pretty fucking good. Edit: I watched the 24th episode, and I am now considering giving this season a 10/10, the speech Uraraka gave was amazing and the whole episode was just so emotional. Edit 2: Watched the 25th and final episode and stain coming in to lecture All Might was awesome, as well as him making up with Midoryia, Bakugo trying not to call Midoriya "Deku" and our first glimpse of heroes from other countries. So glad they didn't fuck up the ending of this season, can give it a 10/10 without any worries. | 10 | TV | 25

46 | ![]() | Chiyu Mahou no Machigatta Tsukaikata Refreshing to see a king not turn on the MC and try to save him, its a goofy but fun anime, does get a bit generic at the end during the war, kinda just wished it was more slice of life stuff | 8 | TV | 13

49 | ![]() | Code Geass: Fukkatsu no Lelouch My goat came back to life, did a reveal to all his friends who betrayed him, got an apology from all of them, outsmarted the villain and destroyed em, still got to live after, married the girl who took care of him, and gets to live happily ever after. Peak. | 10 | Movie | 1
50 | ![]() | Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch This is just Death Note mixed with the plot Final Fantasy 7. And its really good. The only few problems I have with it is that Suzaku and Nina are the two most goddamn annoying characters to exist (Suzaku is literally defending segregation and Nina is just racist and yet the plot wants us to like both), the art is strange, and the whole thing with Euphey is kinda bs, like: "Hey wouldn't it be funny if you killed every Japanese person?" "Oh yeah that would be crazy" "Oh shit my geass is permenantly on what happe- oh fuck" AND EVEN AFTER THIS HAPPENS AND EVEN WHEN PEOPLE DON'T KNOW SHE WAS UNDER THE CONTROL OF GEASS THE STUDENTS STILL ARE AGAINST ZERO LIKE WTF YOU DIDN'T CARE ALL THE ELEVENS GOT MASSACRED? SAME THING WITH SUZAKU, WHO BEING PRESENTED WITH THIS INFORMATION STILL CHOSE TO SAVE HER (Even know he was told later she was under control, but wtf dude). | 8 | TV | 25
51 | ![]() | Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch R2 Score is undecided because I can't tell whether that was complete dogshit or really good, there is just so much shit happening, some of which just comes out of nowhere, but it also makes sense at the same time, but then the ending happens, which was REALLY predictable, but I kinda wanted Lelouch to win, but then all that happens, and for some reason people are fine with Britannia now even though they are basically nazis and I'm just so conflicted. | - | TV | 25

54 | ![]() | Dandadan I understand why so many people like this show, because it is great. Everything from it's art, to the story, and ESPECIALLY the sound design feels so unique and unparalleled from anything I've seen before. I also love the humor, combat, and the wonderful characters as well. Even Aira, who I found extremely annoying at first became a well liked character. I love both Okarun and Ayase and love the dynamic they have. The colors and composition of many scenes also just look amazing, especially things like the scene of the one ghost running chasing after her child, and the whole water sequence being different colors. Making the ghosts very sympathetic instead of outright scary is also a choice that really paid off in the end, as the design is still scary, but they become either funny like turbo granny or sympathetic like the others. I wish there were more types of aliens we saw, but I liked the lobster guy and some of the other aliens we did see. I just don't understand why they'd end off the show like how they did, because that wasn't even a cliffhanger, they straight up ended the first season in the middle of an episode. | 8 | TV | 12

63 | ![]() | Dr. Stone Modded Minecraft the anime Honestly, the start was very slow and boring, and I thought Taiju was annoying and wanted him dead, while Yuzuriha didn't fit in this type of anime and was p bland. But as he went to the village, met a lot of the people, it got really good. I also like how its not some random high schooler and its someone who knows about science, because in things like isekai the main character is jut a normal high schooler who somehow knows how to do impossible shit, but this is somewhat grounded in reality, like when he says make a phone, it's not literally making a flip phone or an apple phone, but a very primitive version. I also just am not a fan of the whole war thing going on, and would much rather this show be a surivival type show. | 8 | TV | 24

72 | ![]() | Dungeon Meshi The first half of this season is a 6/10, it was fine, and watchable, but barely. It felt like there wasn't much of a plot except for the sister thing and it was just such a basic plot that I wasn't too interested in it, and it felt like every time something needed to be taken seriously it just wasn't, but the comedy was pretty good and got a few laughs out of me. The second half of the season was a 7 or 8/10, and I feel like if this was the tone of the whole series, it easily could have been 8 or 9/10 for me. I like how there were moments of seriousness like Senshi's backstory, but I still liked how comedy was a major point. I loved how the black magic used to revive Falin was the start of this more serious half, and it made things a lot more interesting, bringing in black magic, the elf, the lost kingdom and its inhabitants as well as finally bringing together all the groups of people in the story. It was way more interesting and engaging, while in the first half I went on and off. Overall the anime was pretty good, the art style is really good, the comedy is funny, and the whole point of creating monster food is consistent and they never really stop doing that. My favorite thing however has to be the characters, all of them being written so well and all are so loveable. | 7 | TV | 24

81 | ![]() | Evangelion Movie 1: Jo Still bad, but the visuals were nicer (even though it did kinda feel like it was more souless than the show), and I only had to sit through an hour and a half of this garbage. Hated that we still had to sit through Shinji bitching and moaning about piloting the Eva, more than once btw. | 3 | Movie | 1
82 | ![]() | Evangelion Movie 2: Ha Eva writing team finally woke up. I like the direction of this, as instead of a pure remake of the original show, they change up a few things and those things make all the difference. Shinji's refusal to pilot the EVA actually felt justified in this movie, and the only reason its a 6 is because I feel like 70% of the movie is just filler for the ending of it. | 6 | Movie | 1
83 | ![]() | Evangelion Movie 3: Q I really wanted to like 3.0. But goddamn is it kind of a mess. I usually hate timeskips, but I felt it was warranted in 3.0, but usually we would get some sort of explanation on something. But for the first 30 minutes we were as lost and clueless as Shinji. You know the crazy part? There wouldn't have been a possible fourth impact if someone just explained what the fuck was going on. Im glad they explained some parts like Yui and what happened after 2.0, but everything else like Kaworu and the gate or whatever the heck and unit 5 or 6 was just so goddamn confusing. They literally scrapped any explanation for why Asuka and some of the others are still the same age and just never explained it. 132 | ![]() | Jujutsu Kaisen 2nd Season A lot of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 was ruined for me by the JJK fans, so thanks for that guys. Gonna be real, I would have loved a season on just Gojo and Geto and would have probably rated that a 9 or 10, but I also can get why people would just want the main story back. I think its worse than the 1st season, and I loved the more comedic parts of the 1st season, but I will say I love how there is more of a plot this season. But it was just kinda eh, and sure I felt bad for mechamaru and Nobara but I don't think I cared about either of them enough to care about them dying (I don't even think Nobara is dead). As usual, the show is carried by both the animation and Todo, and I love how they brought back Todo. If they made a series with both Itadori and Todo it would be a 10. If Todo dies in the future seasons, I might come back and give every Jujutsu Kaisen season a 1/10 cuz he is just the only character I like or care about tbh. | 6 | TV | 23

134 | ![]() | Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute! This anime broke my brain, it's so stupid that it loops right back around to being good. It's the misfit of demon king academy done right and not dogshit. It made being an OP character who doesn't lose any battles somewhat entertaining, and it blends together comedy really well. Only thing is it throws in subplots that don't get developed or built on and that go kinda unanswered. It feels like shit happens randomly. Somehow that makes this anime work and not work. I was really considering giving this an 8 but for some reason my body and mind physically refuse to do so. Maybe the idea of an isekai with an OP protag is what is stopping me, as I've seen so many. This anime is so overly edgy but its actually somewhat cool and not cringe. I don't know how they did it. This anime is a paradox and everything contradicts itself, but it all works. | 7 | TV | 20

149 | ![]() | Kimi no Koto ga Daidaidaidaidaisuki na 100-nin no Kanojo idk if its because I've grown out of harem anime or maybe this was straight up just bad, but this anime was just too corny, cheesy, and cringe inducing. I watched all the way through because a friend recommended me this, but it's actually painful to watch. Shit at least other harem anime make the main character somewhat likeable or give him more of a personality than just "anime guy", or make it so he's not interested in all of em and make him a tad dislikable, but this show does none of that, just please give him some sort of personality other than "the boyfriend". Sucks too because I like a lot of these characters but a show like this is wasting them. There are some jokes that are pretty good, but they are rare. The thing is, I wish the jokes kept pace like in the first episode, where there were so many jokes you knew this show was a satire or parody of harems. But as it went on they phased out the jokes for speeches about how the MC loves his gfs which we already knew and don't need to hear again for the 90th time. I think the worst part was when one of them finally put their foot down about not being able to wait for MC and Hakari when they run away, which is extremely reasonable, then walking it back and saying they would its so stupid and I hate the writing so much. Idk if disgust is the correct word for what I felt when watching this, or maybe it's an ick, but something about this show makes me wanna puke. | 2 | TV | 12
150 | ![]() | Kimi no Na wa. I would give it an 11/10 if I could. This is probably the best anime out there. My new favorite. Relatable in a weird way. Probably the only anime to make me sob uncontrollably (Edit years after watching this, my taste in anime has improved and I have this anime to thank for it cuz it redefined my view of good anime and I've uncontrollably sobbed to way more anime now). It was so good it completely redefined anime for me and I changed my whole list to only give 10's to masterpieces like this. The only way I could describe watching this is like going to Disney World for the first time. Absolutely magical. | 10 | Movie | 1
151 | ![]() | Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai WARNING: THIS IS ONE OF THE SADDEST ANIME AND ANIME MOVES EVER CREATED. This anime movie is about a normal dude and his meeting with an eccentric girl who has pancreatic cancer. It is very melancholy, as you realize how much each character values the time they spend together with each other. You can't really call this a romance. There isn't really a type of name for this type of relationship, as I dont think it can be called a friendship either. Nevertheless, it is a beautiful film that doesn't joke about the idea of death and cancer, but reminds everyone to focus on the times you have had and are currently having with the people you love instead of dreading what is to come. SPOILER: The ending of this movie slaps you in the face hard, as instead of dying from her cancer, she is instead murdered off screen. This ending is also foreshadowed throughout the movie with the murderer being mentioned multiple times. It really is a slap in the face that is so much different than the ending we all expected. It is brutal and devastating. As the main character sits down with her mother and starts to cry, the movie goes through all the time they spent together, and it is beautiful. This is the greatest anime movie ever made. | 10 | Movie | 1

165 | ![]() | Kusuriya no Hitorigoto This anime is like one of those isekais where the protagonist uses things he knows from modern day Japan to help the kingdom or get super rich, except it's set in imperial China and stars a female lead, which is very unique for anime nowadays. I really like the imperial China setting and the fact the MC is an apothecary helps ground it in reality. The artstyle and animation is also very beautiful, with the VAs being spot on. The writing makes it feel like it's not one of those "MC solves all the problems" anime even though it is. Also some parts, like the 2 frames showing Maomao's disdain for her father when Jinshi asks if she wanted to meet him were small things that just added on to the anime. Sure some things like her having to solve murders were a bit unrealistic, but they tried to tie it back to her being an apothecary as much as they could, so I do appreciate that. Overall a really good anime. | 9 | TV | 24

167 | ![]() | Log Horizon This is what Sword Art Online should have been. I also love how they don't make Shiroe into this super badass who can do everything and anything and is extremely charming. They split that into a different character in Krusty. I only wish they gave more character development to other characters. I love how it feels like this show was written by people who know how MMORPGs are like, and I love the rule bending they do in the world to make it different from a game, but still feel like it, like how if you make food using the crafting menu it tastes bland, but if you make it normally, it tastes like actual food. Its such a clever way to make it so they can't just craft everything or do things the easy way. It shows that this world might be based off a game, but it's not exactly a game world. Everything about the world of Elder Tale feels so thought out, making it more interesting to learn about the game, its lore, and its mechanics. | 9 | TV | 25
168 | ![]() | Log Horizon 2nd Season I know in my notes/review for season 1, I said everything was perfect except a little more character development to other characters would be good, but holy shit why was the whole season about the other characters, I wanna see Shiroe doing cool shit and doing political stuff, not see children going to do a quest or the people on the Chinese servers. It's so frustrating because all they had to do was what they did with the first season and add some side character development and it would have been a 10/10. Also I know they changed animation studios but some of the characters look very strange and it took a while to get used to it. | 6 | TV | 25
169 | ![]() | Log Horizon: Entaku Houkai I really enjoyed this season of Log Horizon, and it seemed like they fixed a lot of the mistakes I had with the second season. While I don't think it's perfect, it's still all very good. Some of the good parts was that I really liked how they were willing to shake up the dynamic of the round table by having Ein leave (and the other guys too but they were kinda eh) and the best part is it's not even out of hatred for each other, both parties want to improve Akiba, but in their own way. I think it was supposed to be a metaphor or stand in for real life political parties, and how although they may disagree ideologically, both want to help their respective country in their own way (although I don't think it works as well considering in the U.S, it's people who want minorities to have more rights vs literal nazis, but then again this a show made in Japan, maybe it's different there but I wouldn't know). But I really do love how in the end, there was no bad blood between the two parties, and the new roundtable brought in the old guild that had previously left as well as many NPC ones, which I thought was a really cool addition. One gripe I had with this part of the season was that I thought the ending was a bit predictable (not the portal part I didn't know he was gonna do that), but it was very obvious that Shiroe was going to bring in voters from other places to vote on the day, because as soon as I heard that rule I knew he was gonna exploit it. The next party was Krusty's story, and I really enjoyed that part because it showed how he's been doing this whole time, and I just love Krusty as a character. Finally, there's the part with Minori and all the low levels. I LOVE how they did this. They foreshadow it so well, with the two ancients being low level and still being able to face it, so the higher ups think its no big deal, and in the meantime, Minori gets prepared to go on a raid soon. All of this comes back to bite them as the top ranks are now weak in the raid from the genius, while the lower ranks aren't, and I feel that is such a natural way to put them in this position without having to make it feel forced. On top of this, we get a lot of time with Shiroe and the grown ups, and I'm so thankful they didn't make half the season following the kids. Even still I thought the part with the kids doing the raid was fun, and showed a lot of character developement for them and growth. Other than that, I don't have any huge complaints, just that the plots felt a bit more predictable and basic this season, as well as the name of this season is Log Horizon: Destruction of the Roundtable, but that only lasts like 4 episodes or so, and so I don't know why they made it into this huge deal. Maybe not even political or world building, they still need to find a good balance between that and the combat, similar to season 1, but that's about it, this was a very solid season. | 8 | TV | 12

175 | ![]() | Make Heroine ga Oosugiru! Thought this was going to be some run of the mill 5/10 anime when I first saw it on MAL, but I saw clips floating around on Youtube, and the clips were funny enough that I wanted to give this show a shot. My first impressions were of how beautiful the art style and animation was, and it looked like almost a movie style budget with how good it looked, but I think that's just because of A-1. In the beginning, the plot was really good, and explored the ideas of heartbreak and realistic depictions of it and how people cope and deal with heartbreak. I didn't expect the show to really go through these realistic talks and expected more gags and shitty humor. The problem is, half way through the show, that's exactly what the show becomes. As it veers off its main point, and just starts feeling like your everyday slice of life school romance. I feel like the author should have gone with the 100 girlfriends approach of introducing more rejected heroines instead of keeping the same three, as I feel like they all get sidelined at one point or another to focus on something else. Another glaring issue was with Komari's story, where she was having trouble with the fact her senpais were graduating, and has to also deal with the fact she's the president of the literature club that she loves so much. The thing is, when Nukumizu starts to tell his feelings about how she isn't alone, I kind of expected him to get serious and get it all out, except the author fucks it up by having one of the other girls barge in and interrupt it, which I would expect in normal rom coms, but I think it just makes it so much worse in a series like this, which has shown that it takes its points and talks very seriously. Another thing is that for some reason the role of president of the club gets passed on to Nukumizu, which I thought went against what Komari wanted and thought was very stupid. Finally, the worst thing that could happen to this series: romance. This series was supposed to be getting over heartbreak, and it was also about Nukumizu making friends from these girls and not looking to date any of them, but judging from the final episode, it seems like the romance route is where the story is headed, which is a shame because I thought that this would be one of those stories where the MC didn't need to end up with one of the girls, and they could just remain friends, similar to Ichigo and Rukia in Bleach. Alas, I fear that Nukumizu will get together with Yanami and that this will just become another boring slice of life rom com, but the first half of this season did well enough that it earned itself higher than average, alongside the amazing animation and voice acting. | 7 | TV | 12

When it finally comes time for the second half, it ramps up a lot, ending with Reigen finally revealing himself as a fraud to Mob, thus allowing him to become one with his other self and confess to tsubame. He gets rejected, but they still talk, hinting at a possible relationship down the line, so its not all bad. Reigen finally isn't alone as the last time we saw him celebrate his birthday he was alone and had no one to wish him happy birthday. Also love that even though Naruto and the rest have grown so powerful, people like Kakashi can still keep up with his susanoo. It also has a very unique plot that a lot of anime don't explore, and is also unique in the fact that it uses a bit of true history (even if very loosely). On top of this I love the way they use holy power and god to explain the fourth wall breaks in the anime, and the theme of god and the future, and how as the future progresses, many of the things that were considered to be a gift from god were natural occurrences. The main characters weren't anything too special, but all of them were extremely likeable, with my favorite being Mr. Yorishige, who unlike most of the cast was special and unique. Another sort of bad thing was the reliance on CGI, which made a lot of scenes look strange and out of place. I feel like it wasn't terrible, but there was way too much of it. | 8 | TV | 12

I loved the idea of 4 people betrayed by their previous parties forming up to make a new party, but then after that idea, they just fight a dungeon with slimes, then a dungeon with a sword that turns into a human, then fight a kidnapper who for some reason they all feel bad for when dies. If this was a traditional "beat the demon king" fantasy anime it would have done so much better. You have all these characters with distinct personalities and interesting backstories, so why not do something with it? 211 | ![]() | Odd Taxi Odd Taxi is certainly a very original and unique anime, but it's pretty predictable and very slow at some points. The first few episodes are a bit boring and jumps between different characters but when the story starts coming together and combining all these stories, it gets pretty good. I feel like the "mysteries" of Odd Taxi are so very obvious, like how there is a cat in Odakawa's house which I guessed from episode 1. Another thing was how Odakawa was suffering from some sort of mental issue that made him think everyone is an animal, which was also very obvious. The Tapir looking dude was the boss was very obvious. And when they introduced a replacement to one of the idol girls it was very obvious that the replacement girl killed her because she was 4th. None of these twists really made me lose my mind when I saw them because I already knew they were true. That being said, I can't lie and say it wasn't entertaining, as it really was. I do hate how in the end they leave it on a cliffhanger. | 6 | TV | 13

I loved the Marine's story and how he admires Luffy because of Marineford. I also like that we get to see how a normal marine without Devil Fruits or any abilities looks and how their lives act. I also like how many people in the story either directly or indirectly see/interact with members of the Strawhat Crew, but don't know its them, with the ending credits showing us they were close by. 244 | ![]() | RWBY: Hyousetsu Teikoku "What would a RWBY filler look like?" said no one ever, as the thought of writing something worse than the mediocrity of the original RWBY series is insane. They should have made this anime a team JNPR spinoff, as JNPR is actually entertaining, but I'll rant about that in a bit. Man I was so ready to get back into RWBY and give it another chance, and once I did, I was extremely disappointed. As a former RWBY fan, I was really excited when I found out RWBY was getting an anime, replacing that 3rd grade project animation of the original RWBY series for actually good animation (no hate to 3D animation, there are a ton of good 3D anime, RWBY is just not one of them). I actually really liked the first 3 episodes, as it followed the first season of RWBY. I'll say it, the first 3 seasons of RWBY were actually decent, if not good. Honestly I wouldn't have minded a remake of the first RWBY season in anime form, and up until the 4th episode, I was really interested in RWBY Ice Queendom. But then I realized, "WAIT A MINUTE THIS IS JUST FILLER THAT TAKES PLACE RANDOMLY IN THE FIRST SEASON" and I swear, it is the most boring shit I have ever seen. The only reason I made it to the final episode of this series was when Jaune joined them when saving Weiss, because LITERALLY ANYONE FROM TEAM JNPR IS MORE INTERESTING THAN ANY OF THE TEAM RWBY MEMBERS AND I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL. It takes place in what is basically a fever dream with them infiltrating the dream MULTIPLE TIMES only to fail. It is the most jarring and boring piece of work that the RWBY team has released. Id rather be forced to watch every season of the original RWBY than watch this crap again. I will say however, the animation was good. At least, for the first 3 episodes and the last 2, because thats where all of its budget went. Other than those 5 episodes, the rest seem like the RWBY/Roosterteeth animators did the animation in the fight scenes because they kinda suck. The first 3 episodes and last 2 are AMAZING with their fight scenes and shows what this anime could have been. Its a shame really. I've said this since the start and since the start of original RWBY, but they really should have made team JNPR the main characters, because team RWBY are all so goddamn boring. JNPR are interesting and I was way more interested in the Jaune and Pyrrha plot in the original RWBY than I was with team RWBY themselves. Also they didn't show the best character, Qrow so fuck this anime. | 3 | TV | 12

262 | ![]() | Shin Evangelion Movie:|| I will say, I really liked 3.0+1.0. I really hate Evangelion, the original series and the rebuilds minus this and 2.0. But 3.0+1.0 was really good, and the EVA writing team finally fully woke up. First of all I love how more understanding and compassionate all the characters are. Asuka seems more friendly and caring in the rebuilds than the original series, which I think allows Shinji to care for her more. Rei seems more personable and seems to have more life in her than the original series, and Shinji seems more positive and accepting than the original series. I love the butterfly effect that some of these changes made, from the slightly altered personalities of the characters to even new characters like Mari, who I feel even though wasn't a major character, her cheerful personality made the rebuild series more uplifting and cheerful and the end and because of that is as integral to this timeline as any of the other characters. I think her cheerful attitude was genuine, as opposed to the obnoxiously fake cheerfulness that Asuka had in the original series, which was because of her sadness and loneliness. I also like how Misato was more of a mother to Shinji in this one than the original series, which I think is represented with the photo of Shinji and her actual child, named after Kaji. The feelings that Shinji goes through in this feels more justified, although I still do think it goes on for way too long. I loved Rei finding herself, working in the village, and making new friends until she dies, which actually made me quite sad, as in the original series I didn't care about her that much. I also love that Evangelion 3.0+1.0 does what many people claim the original series did: subtly hint at what is really going on. The original series and EOE did not do this. Rebuild does and things that Kowaru says make it seem like he's been through all of this before. The flashback with Asuka and Gendo saying that he has offered Shinji a new world also supports this. Ok some bad things are that I think the whole "Asuka is a clone" thing is complete bullshit and I don't understand why it is a thing. Another bad thing is the ending. For some reason Evangelion can never do an ending without fucking with your mind. It is extremely confusing. We go through Gendo and Shinji talking then Gendo takes the spear and thats that. But then you have Kaworu, and once he disappears we don't know where, same thing with Asuka and Rei, both of whom are apparently somewhere else. Then for some reason Mari cares about Shinji (which they have been making a thing for a while for some reason) and travels to his new place to find him??? Then Shinji rewrites the world so that EVAs never existed and I guess that become the world we currently live in, except this raises way too many new questions. Does anyone remember the events before the rewrite? Do any of them still know each other? Why is Shinji with Mari? Why is Kaworu with Rei? If they don't remember the events, why does the collar on Shinji still exist and how is Mari able to take it off? Are Rei, Asuka, and Kaworu really in this new universe or are they copies of the other ones? Did the other ones go to their own universe with their ideal living? Is Mari actually a clone of the one girl who introduces Gendo to Yui who for some reason Fuyutsuki knows, so is she a clone? Questions like these that go unanswered, which is a common theme. Also WHAT THE FUCK IS AN IMAGINARY LILLITH. This series is so fucking confusing for no goddamn reason, for some reason they don't like to make things straightforward. But hey in the end they got their happy ending so that's cool. What never changes about Evangelion, whether in the original series or the rebuilds however is that Kaji will forever be a GOAT. | 8 | Movie | 1

276 | ![]() | Shinseiki Evangelion Unpopular opinion I know, but this show just kinda sucks. Would have given it a 1 if not for the opening and Kaji. It's boring until like episode 16 and even still its kinda boring but at least something is going on. Then it just becomes so fucking confusing that its hard to keep up with. Like Shinji tries leaving 2 - 3 times and keeps coming back like holy shit dude make up your goddamn mind. Asuka is just fucking annoying, and Rei is a nothing ass character. Shinji is also annoying, I didn't come to watch Daddy Issues: The Anime. Then the last two episodes were just an acid trip. Also fuck anyone that says the elevator scene had to be that long, it really fucking didn't. Yeah I get there is tension and its awkward but making us sit through ages of that one scene doesn't help me get it because I already know. The fans of this shit are the rick and morty fans of anime. I asked my friends about the anime and what any of this shit meant, and they said "You're just dumb its so obvious, their mothers are baked into the fucking robots and the last two episodes was to force evolution in humans!" They later admitted that they were full of shit and the show is in fact a hot mess and that none of that was obvious. Fuck this show man. 287 | ![]() | Sousou no Frieren This is the first anime where I can say I've read the manga before the anime came out, but unlike those who say that, I can say the anime is so much better. With the anime you can feel the emotional weight to every moment in the show, and the beautiful animation does not disappoint, and is on par with the beautiful art of the manga. The story about Frieren is truly beautiful, and shows someone trying to understand human emotion and relieve her best memories she had on the journey with the heroes party. It is such a novel concept, to focus on the elf that lives after the heroes pass on, remembering the good old days of their journeys. The anime also symbolizes how nothing last forever, and how things can change in a short number of years, so to take advantage of that and live your life to the fullest while remembering every small possibly insignificant but beautiful thing that has happened along the way. Basically, nothing lasts forever, so why not make the most of it? | 10 | TV | 28

I think Kurisu is the first not annoying tsundere, and one who I very much enjoy. In Steins;Gate 0, when she is dead and Rinatrou Okabe starts looking at Amadeus as Kurisu is so fucking heartbreaking. This is a masterpiece of an anime that is worth the watch, even now.
