Dragon Ball Super

My rating would've been just 7/10, but I'm giving full because of the exaggeration of how bad it is from 1/10 reviewers. I share some of your frustrations too.

I'll start with what I disliked. The way they presented the different power levels was questionable. To state a quick example, one moment a certain form beats the shit out of this fella, the next saga, it became questionably weak. Some fights are also annoyingly painful to watch too. Too much dialogue in the middle of battles, but I suppose nothing beats how draggy mid-battle dialogues were in DBZ. Chichi barely got ANY screentime aside from being ... a patient wife and mother. She's the main character's wife yet Bulma gets the best lines lol (no hate, I adore Bulma and its understandable BUT) all the anime did was to make her look and sound annoying, extra and just there for comic relief.

Moving on to the positive stuff:
Goku is a crappy character. But he is a great example of a one-dimensional character who doesn't ruin the show at all. Absolutely zero character development, but that's exactly what we want. Why? Because look at the others. Gohan FINALLY protected Piccolo instead, learnt his lesson (#prouddadmoment), got his warrior sense back (could've been more though). Krillin got over his fears and made a comeback, and I did not expect Master Roshi to overcome his weakness and actually looked cool when we thought he had already retired. But Beerus, I absolutely loved his development. Towards the end, he respected and acknowledged the names of the fighters (especially Gohan because I was pretty angry at how everyone was saying "Goku's son"). We can mostly agree that Vegeta is a more lovable character than Goku, Piccolo as well. (Apparently people didn't like their character development and wanted them to stay 'badass'?) They both started out as villains in the series, then slowly they became allies. Piccolo became the father figure Goku was lacking in, Vegeta became the family man (he will never admit) he never expected himself to be. Because of Goku, I came to appreciate the other characters more. Andriod 17 unexpectedly became one of my favourites too.

For some, the comedy was dumb. However, it made the show more enjoyable, at least for me. I enjoyed seeing the serious Vegeta flustered by Bulma, Piccolo babysitting Pan... Almost every episode has something to make me smile, laugh or cringe (the universe 2 girls...)

All in all, satisfying ending. I felt some frustrations, but it was satisfying. The battles were tiresome, but boy were they exciting with many (cliché) twists and surprises. I wished there were more work on characters though. Regardless, this is all just my personal opinion. You are free to judge this anime based on your liking, but I'm just tired of people whining about things like your character not being badass enough.

While Dragon Ball has its strengths, including memorable characters and iconic moments, its mediocre storyline can be a barrier for viewers looking for more depth and complexity in their anime.

"Dragon Ball Super - fanmade sequel to Z that completely misses the point of what made DBZ great" - a perfect description.

Pros:
1) Super Saiyan God Form (I liked the design, but the way to achieve it is stupid).
2) Music (this is the best thing in DBS. Of course it is worse than the soundtracks from DB-DBZ-DBGT, but still they are cool).

Minuses:
1) The original characters were turned into their archetypes (the new characters are completely empty and have no depth).
2) The story is shit (be it arches, plot holes, retcons, etc.).
3) Terrible scenario (the movie Battle of the Gods explained to us how Pilaf's team turned ... into children, but the main series did not? The manga also explained how Seventeen was able to survive after his alleged self-destruction, but the main series did not? Umm... What?).
4) Censorship.
5) All forms (except SSJG) are shit.
6) No voltage.
7) The art style is softened (now it is for children).
8) Disgusting animation.
9) No drama and also bad comedy.
10) Zero fight choreography.
11) Terrible Power Scaling (in DBS it is: A>B and B>C, then A<C).
And all this annoyed me for 131 episodes.

Conclusion: DON'T WATCH THIS!
