Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikutsu na Sekai

With the introduction of strict new morality laws, Japan has become a nation cleansed of all that is obscene and impure. By monitoring citizens using special devices worn around their necks, authorities have taken extreme measures to ensure that society remains chaste.

In this world of sexual suppression, Tanukichi Okuma—son of an infamous terrorist who opposed the chastity laws—has just entered high school, offering his help to the student council in order to get close to president Anna Nishikinomiya, his childhood friend and crush. Little does he know that the vice president Ayame Kajou has a secret identity: Blue Snow, a masked criminal dedicated to spreading lewd material amongst the sheltered public—and Tanukichi has caught the girl's interest due to his father's notoriety.

Soon, Tanukichi is dragged into joining her organization called SOX, where he is forced to spread obscene propaganda, helping to launch an assault against the government's oppressive rule. With their school set as the first point of attack, Tanukichi will have to do the unthinkable when he realizes that their primary target is the person he admires most.

First and foremost, I do not watch comedy amines like these most of the time, but this one was just so funny and out of pocket [in a good way nonetheless.]

Take aways; It's funny, random, it's really really reallly RAUNCHY! I repeat IT'S RAUNCHY. I feel like if you watched Knoa Suba then this would up your alley. It is a lot more excessive on the sexual jokes though.

Nonetheless, if you are looking for a good laugh and have no clue what to watch I would definitely recommend this anime.

I feel like the story line is a bit crazy but honestly what would ... life be if we didn't have jokes to rely on, especially adult like jokes.
There really isn't much character development unless you think going from hiding the fact you like the jokes to being open about like the jokes then there no character development whatsoever.

Mixed Feelings

It has some interesting undertones about government surveillance and freedom of expression hidden under dirty jokes. Every citizen is constantly being monitored by the government to check if they're saying stuff like cock or pussy, but that also means that they're monitoring every other word that is being said.

While within the show itself, they detain you for indecency, who is to say that such a system could not be abused further? It's pussy today, but tomorrow it could be people with decenting political opinions. Not only that, but the censorship laws presented within this show explicitly have robbed the youth of sexual education, which ... could be seen as a method of population control since it is the government that decides who gets to have access to this knowledge.

It starts fairly interesting and intriguing, but the plot gets increasingly messy and cheap as it progresses. If you're older than 18, this will most probably let you down.

The anime is supposed to be a joke, and in the beginning they are pretty funny because they're unexpected. Once the element of surprise wears off, the sexual jokes and puns start to become very repetitive (and they do repeat some sex jokes more than once, sometimes in the same episode), mostly because they're not very witty nor accompanied by equally funny contexts. They're just thrown out for the sake of it. Ironically, they have no real ... impact on the story or any of the scenes.

Perhaps if you understand Japanese fluently, with all its vulgar expressions and intricacies, or if sexual themes are still very novel and cheeky for you, then you'd enjoy the anime more.

There is surprisingly, and disappointingly, no reciprocal romance or sexual relations, not even implied, between any of the main characters, which to be fair may be due to it's limited length (12 episodes). The anime is at its most interesting when exploring the way sexually clueless students behave when they slowly find out about sex, but unfortunately this is almost never in focus (Anna's arc, for example, had potential for dealing with such a theme, but rapidly devolves into oversimplified nonsensical hornyness). After a few episodes, there's barely any engaging emotion involved in the stories. They instead chose to focus on a sort of goofy, mildly political "super-hero saves the day from today's bad guy" kind of story. Which I guess is the source material's sin and I should've known what I was getting, but still.

The show ends with the impression that there's supposed to be more. There's no real conclusion, no major issues solved, no "wrapping up". Important characters like Sophia and Fuwa get no resolution, or any form of address to the problems that defined them as characters in the story.
The latter, by the way, is easily the most enjoyable person in the anime. If there's ever a season 2, it should feature her as MC.
