I loved the relationship, that Mato and Yomi had. They were so cute together <3

OK, now I did express quite a bit of disdain toward most of the redesigns and especially the studio, but now that we're actually getting footage I'm going to have to switch gears back once more.

Short of some CG that could do with a spot more integration, Bibury have made a - highly unexpected - phenomenal job. Very happy to see that Dead Master and Strength seem to have Black Trikes of their own, and that the latter has her proper hands again. Good song to boot, too.

Definitely the most relieving news I've heard in a while.

How is it possible that this franchise still has enough momentum behind it to generate another new anime? I can only assume they expect the nostalgia of people who liked this as young teens and are now grown adults to fuel this project.

This isn't the first time in the franchise that this happens. In the videogame BRS wasn't voiced by Kana Hanazawa, but by Maaya Sakamoto (Hanazawa took the character again in the 2012 anime, probably cause it had a similar school drama setting like the OVA). Either way, I would have loved for the old cast to return too.
Yeah, I was told something like that on another site.

Still, considering the fact that Kana Hanazawa, and Miyuki Sawashiro are still super popular (AFAIK), I would have expected them to reprise their roles.

As for a show with a couple of OVAs and one (so far) series, it has too many incarnations already.

I find it weird that they haven't brought back Kana Hanazawa, Miyuki Sawashiro, Kana Asumi, Mamiko Noto, and rest of the previous seiyu.
They're different incarnations from the charas from the OVAs and the 2012 TV anime, that's why they changed the VAs.

Super excited. Ngl I kinda wish they kept the cape in the previous design of BRS.

So now this is a post-apocalyptic action with more 3D and less of any reallife SoL?

Great to see Ishikawa get another main role!

The CGI seems to be an step down from the 2012 anime, who had wonderful CGI, but I like how the setting is gonna be more similar to the videogame. It sucks they changed the VAs from the previous series, but it makes sense as they're brand new characters despite having the same name. Either way I'm interested to see how the Black Rock Shooter franchise is gonna take it's revival in the 2020's.
