Manga 'Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu' Gets TV Anime

It was announced that the historical manga written by Haruko Kumota titled Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu will get a TV series adaptation. This was announced in the 23rd issue of Kodansha's ITAN. Its OVA adaptations were announced previously. According to the source, the TV series will debut after the second OVA. The main cast was announced, and additional cast members will be announced at a later time.

Oh I might watch it. I like josei genre quite a bit cuz it has minimum action (better have no action than some mediocre one) and explores more of mature themes.

The amount of Josei anime in the directory is way too low. It's good to see one getting animated finally after quite a while.

The synopsis does sound good. Will watch for sure.

Josei is better than OTHER shounen titles, I daresay. No nonsense fanservice, no humongous boobs, no fanboys lurking in, no bullshit. To hell some of the well known shounen written by a female: FMA, D.Grayman ( to name a few ) those aforementioned title made it big in west and east. Let me add it my list :)

Cool, a josei. I added the manga to my PTR list a long time ago, but I don't think I found it anywhere. Looks like the anime will be my salvation.
