'Grendizer U' Unveils Supporting Cast, Second Promo for Summer 2024
The official website of the Grendizer U television anime unveiled four supporting cast members and a second promotional video on Tuesday. The television anime is scheduled to premiere in July 2024 on TV Tokyo and BS TV Tokyo.

Hayashi: Shinya Takahashi (Edens Zero)
Yamada: Riho Sugiyama (Synduality: Noir)
Saeki: Hironori Kondou (Kidou Senshi Gundam: The Origin)
Ooi: Sora Tokui (Arknights: Touin Kiro)
Chief director Mitsuo Fukuda (Kidou Senshi Gundam SEED) and Shun Kudou (Kimi dake ni Motetainda.) are directing the anime series at Gaina. Ichirou Ookouchi (Kidou Senshi Gundam: Suisei no Majo) is in charge of the series composition and script. Yoshiyuki Sadamoto (Neon Genesis Evangelion) is the character designer, and Kouhei Tanaka (Planet With) is composing the music.
The anime is based on Go Nagai's UFO Robo Grendizer television anime, which was produced by Toei Animation and aired in 74-episodes from October 1975 to February 1977. The UFO Robo Grendizer is a spin-off in the Mazinger Z series.

Not to be a doomer but unfortunately the trailer did not leave that great of an impression on me, mainly due to the glaringly limited and ugly looking 2D animation which I don't think is doing sadamoto's designs justice. suprisngly though (unlike the unfortunate situation with getter robo arc) this has good looking 3D models and animation, so the action should be good along with the music. I am still interested in watching it even though I haven't watched the original yet

the U stands for Unwatchable, the designs are ass, the story will probably get changed too, the original is a masterpiece
