SynopsisHis skill with a sword is magnificent but his social skills still need a lot of work!
After many long years perfecting the art of fighting, 17-year-old Yoichi Karasuma is sent down from the remote mountains where he has been raised thinking that he's going to study some new martial arts techniques... but what he's really going to learn about are some slightly more practical things, like electrical appliances, modern clothing and, most especially, how NOT to make girls want to kill you!
Unfortunately, that last lesson is one Yoichi may not survive, as his new dojo is infested with the infernal creatures in the form of the Ikaruga sisters, and they don't really seem to understand how "proper" girls are "supposed" to behave! Will Yoichi's bushido blade be struck down by the fearsome charms of Ibuki, Ayame, Chihaya, and Kagome? Or will the equally lethal girls from the rival Tsubame school be his undoing?

This anime is about Karasuma Yoichi, who is a samurai with great skill with the sword, but not as much with social skills. The story is mostly about how Yoichi tries to blend in with the city residents and the four Ikaruga sisters.
The story sets up good for a harem comedy anime with Yoichi going to the residence of the Ikaruga sisters and how he goes to school, even though it is a pretty normal harem comedy it has action added in it as well, which makes it pretty good actually, though it is a bit boring how Yoichi is a "little" overpowered.
They actually don't have the same old boring supporting characters, but they have Washizu a former delinquent who is actually really shy towards girls and we have the antagonist who once every two episodes sends assassins after Yoichi to take his life.
The action itself is pretty one-sided as Yoichi always seems to defeat his opponents in one blow, and they never trouble him really, which is kind of boring, but at the same time it is not an action/shounen anime.
They art is good and simple, bright colours and pretty standard character design, nothing to say about it really.
The opening is catchy and fits in well with the atmosphere of the anime and the ending is a relaxed and slow paced song. The voice actors are all very experienced and if you look in their roles you will most likely find one you are familiar with.
The characters actually disappoint me a little, they are very standard and the only outstanding things is what they do, also the problems they seem to have for my taste were not dramatic enough they were all a little on the small side, like how Ayame complained how she was constantly in the shadow of her sister and how Chihaya was tired with the manga work she was doing. Even though the main characters were not too interesting, the supporting ones were.
So what do we get with an interesting story and mediocre characters, well we get something decent, something original, but not too mind-breaking, furthermore they actually divided the content really well, with only 12 episodes airing time it told its story and therefore left no questions unanswered.
So if you are looking for a standard harem comedy with a small twist, Asu no Yoichi is the anime for you. read more

Before watching this anime I thought to myself, "This is probably one of those harems ecchi shows where a lot of girls fall for the same guy." Well it was almost that.
Instead of a lot of girls there was only two, Ibuki Ikaruga and Ayame Ikaruga. They fall in love with Yoichi Karasuma. But unlike many harems this anime has a credible storyline. Unknowingly Ibuki has a fiance. After many years he has finally come to wed his belowed. That's basically the jist of it. Yoichi and the girls try to overcome obstacles and challenges that are thrown at them.
AIC is known for creating some of the best animation in the anime world and they don't disappoint with Asu no Yoichi. Color, character design and background are all animated really well. One of the bright spots in this anime is "Washizu visions" and "Tsubasa visions." These are "visions" the respective character has funny visions of what he or she believes will happen.
Every character plays a part in Asu no Yoichi. There isn't a lot of character development but interaction between each character is huge. They all have a special moment with each other. Secondary characters such as Washizu also play a big part in the anime. They all have a big part during the last few episodes.
There are many golden comedy moments in this anime. They all contribute to the enjoyment level of this anime. Asu no Yoichi is enjoyable and fun to watch. On the other hand it doesn't have many epic moments that will make you remember this anime. If you have the time this you should check this anime out.

Lots of fun, lots of accidents, lots of punches, lots of love. Besides Keintaro is a normal Student, Yoichi is a Samurai.
I think you'll find the characters and situation to be VERY similar, so unless you have some sort of pathological fear of something in one anime or the other, you should enjoy both.
Both have harem, both have the same kind of ecchi situations and both Yoichi and Keitaro sometimes "fly" after kick by girl ;P
Has a very Love Hinarish feel to it.
Both of these series involve a dense, perverted, and slow (typical harem lead) male that goes to live in a place full of girls. In both series, all of the girls start to like the male lead for various reasons but can't bring themselves to admit their feelings.... very typical harms on both accounts.
Both feature a male who is more or less forced into a situation where he is living with a number of very different girls.
The characters in both have virtually the same personality types, as both series's feature:
- A level headed, fairly pleasant male who's your typical tsundere victum
- A bossy, violent 'head of the household', obvious love interest girl
- A grumpy girl who's involved in a love triangle with the above
- A mischevious, creative girl (one in 'Yoichi', two in 'Hina')
- A 'cute' little moe girl (these two are virtually idenitical)
Ecchi related misunderstandings and fanserivce are of the plenty in, aswell as girl on boy violence.

Both anime have harem, cute girls, fights, kantanas and kendo :D
If by some stroke of fate you actually liked Asu no Yoichi, specifically the comedic portions, then you'll also enjoy Bamboo Blade.
Both very funny and have to do somewhat with samurai. Asu no Yoichi is more focused on a boy surrounded by girls rather than focused on girls.
