Sora no Otoshimono is probably the first anime comedy that made me laugh (and that's saying a lot). The characters and art style of this anime is top notch and will make everyone laugh
Probably the most disappointing aspect of Sora no Otoshimono is the story. There really isn't a main story. This anime is basically a big filler but a very funny filler. The last couple of episodes try to contribute to the main storyline but it is a bit rush and most people won't like that.
AIC is known for developing some of the best animations in the world and they don't disappoint here. Everything is crystal clear and Ikaros looks stunning and funny every time she steps on to the screen.
Speaking of ikaros, she's one of the many awesome characters that are in this anime. Tomoki Sakurai is another one and he is beyond funny. I think the only reason this anime made me laugh was because of him. He has some of the best lines I've ever heard in any anime. They are epic.
This anime is really enjoyable. Anyone who is looking to watch a really funny comedy should definitely try this anime out. And anyone who is looking for some epic characters that will leave you wanting more needs to watch this anime. read more

Ah Fullmetal Alchemist. The anime that officially got me started watching anime. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is it's sequel (or is it) and fixes every flaw that it's prequel had.
There is a lot about FMA Brotherhood that makes me want to watch it. One if it is it's complex yet simple story. Two boys lose their bodies trying to bring back their mother so they try to get it back by studying alchemy. Easy, right. but there's so much more to FMA Brotherhood then just getting some bodies back. As this anime goes into more detail the viewer realizes everything in this anime works together in some way. That's what makes the story so fascinating and watchable.
Before I watched FMA I had no idea that there existed an anime company called Bones. Now I do and whatever they release I watch. Something special about Bones is their animation. The animation for FMA Brotherhood is meant to be the way it is. Bones did an amazing job in figuring out what works in this anime.
There is a lot of different sounds in FMA Brotherhood. Some of them are repetitive, especially in fight scenes, but they never get old. There is also a lot of older types of music in this anime like 1930's jazz and waltz.
Ed and Al are your main characters in this anime and if you watch this anime you will like either Ed or Al or both. I haven't met a person yet that hates both of them. Other character like Roy Mustang are also very amusing.
For me the enjoyment factor in this anime was great. I couldn't wait for the next episode to come out so I can watch it. I'm sure if your a person that loves shounen you will love this anime. And if your looking for an anime that is really in depth and is fast paced then you should definitely give this anime a go. read more

Suzuka is a manga by Kouji Seo which takes the best from sport and romance and binds them together. From the first chapter this manga had me hooked and will hook you too.
Yamato Akitsuki, has just moved from his home in the Hiroshima Prefecture to stay at his aunt's dormitory in Tokyo. Yamato falls in love with his new next-door neighbor, Suzuka Asahina, a girl from Yokohama who was scouted by a local high school because of her high jump athletic ability. These basic romance elements set up the story and the drama of Suzuka.
The artwork of Suzuka are what makes Kouji Seo a great manga artist. The artwork is detailed and doesn't miss a beat.
There are many characters in Suzuka. Most of them play a major part in the story. Yamato Akitsuki and Suzuka Asahina go throughout a major development from the first chapter. The people in the beginning of the manga are completely different from the characters in the end of the manga. These two however are not the only characters that develop throughout the manga. Honoka Sakurai and Yasunobu Hattori are two other characters that play a major role in this manga and develop immensely in the manga.
I read this manga in about two days. I enjoyed it and I'm not even a romance kind of guy. This manga is outstanding and is a must read for all romance lovers and even ehounen lovers. read more

When you have two rival clans that hate the living guts out of each other your bound to get a blood spilling manga, and that's exactly what Basilisk is. The Iga and Kouga clan are the two clans that take their differences to the battlefield in this exciting manga.
First of all I basically told you the story plots in my introduction. Other than the fact that these two clans fight to the death to see who would become the new shogun of Japan there's isn't much to the story. It sticks to this all the way untill the finish of the manga.
Art is very good. It's a manga that makes you visualize every fight scene and it makes it look great. The artwork is very realistic and it feels like your watching the anime and not reading the manga.
Now to my favorite part of this manga, the characters. Every character is so special and different from the rest. There are twenty main characters. Ten from Kouga and ten from Iga. You will like at least one of them by the end of the manga. Every character shows different feeling to different things and every one of them has a special power that you can't wait to see. My personal favorite character was Kisaragi Saemon.
This manga was very enjoyable. I was able to finish it in about two hours. It isn't too long so anyone that is looking for a nice quick read and is a fan of ninjas and Japanese history should read this manga. read more

When I decided to watch this OVA I really wasn't expecting anything special. I decided to watch this just because I had nothing else to do on my Monday afternoon. Thank God I had nothing to do because this OVA was very much worth the 17 minutes I spended on it.
The story of the "Blind Alchemist" picks up with Ed and All deciding to go to an alchemist who is believed to have been able to do a transmutation of some sort. This story doesn't seem too exiting and maybe a couple people can make out the ending because of the "Blind Alchemist" part of the tittle but trust me most people will be very surprised to see what happens. It centers on the main theme of the anime. Ed and All doing everything they can trying to get their bodies back. But going to this Alchemist should have been the last thing they do.
The animation is typical Fullmetal Alchemist. There's nothing to say about it. If you watch the anime you'll know what I'm talking about. The sound is also typical FMA. It's sad when it's supposed to be and exciting when it's supposed to be.
The characters in this OVA are all really special. Every character is somehow important, even those gardners play some part. By the end of this OVA you'll feel something for at least one of the new characters.
I really enjoyed this OVA. Like I said before I wasn't expecting much especially after I saw it was only 17 minutes long I thought it would have been a poorly done OVA by my favorite animation company. This was by far bad and it was very enjoyable.
Overall this OVA is a quick watch for anyone that's a fan of the anime. If you think FMA is a good anime then you will love this OVA. read more

Before watching this anime I thought to myself, "This is probably one of those harems ecchi shows where a lot of girls fall for the same guy." Well it was almost that.
Instead of a lot of girls there was only two, Ibuki Ikaruga and Ayame Ikaruga. They fall in love with Yoichi Karasuma. But unlike many harems this anime has a credible storyline. Unknowingly Ibuki has a fiance. After many years he has finally come to wed his belowed. That's basically the jist of it. Yoichi and the girls try to overcome obstacles and challenges that are thrown at them.
AIC is known for creating some of the best animation in the anime world and they don't disappoint with Asu no Yoichi. Color, character design and background are all animated really well. One of the bright spots in this anime is "Washizu visions" and "Tsubasa visions." These are "visions" the respective character has funny visions of what he or she believes will happen.
Every character plays a part in Asu no Yoichi. There isn't a lot of character development but interaction between each character is huge. They all have a special moment with each other. Secondary characters such as Washizu also play a big part in the anime. They all have a big part during the last few episodes.
There are many golden comedy moments in this anime. They all contribute to the enjoyment level of this anime. Asu no Yoichi is enjoyable and fun to watch. On the other hand it doesn't have many epic moments that will make you remember this anime. If you have the time this you should check this anime out.

Black Lagoon is a action thriller that doesn't really have a storyline but does have enough action and character development to keep a person interested.
The story is the weakest point in Black Lagoon. To put it simply, there is no story. The Lagoon Company is a group of thugs that went into piracy because there isn't anything else in life that they accept as a job or that will accept them. So the Lagoon Company undertakes missions for various bosses. And that's just what every episode entails. It's either a continuation of the previous mission because it wasn't able to fit in with the first episode or the episode is a introduction to a new mission. The pacing of an episode could hurt or help this anime. For example the pacing for most episodes is very fast. To a person that likes a lot of fast action this is great news. But for a person that likes an anime that takes its time the fast pace could make this anime less enjoyable.
The animation is absolutely beautiful. This is where Black Lagoon shines. Everything, and I really mean everything, is drawn so cleanly it's like you can reach out and touch the characters. The water was my favorite thing about the art. The animals in the water were animated like they were real and the look of it is incredible. It's just amazing how well the animation for this anime is.
When you can have the opening song get on my iPod, you got something going on. I really mean it. I added the OP to my music. It's that great. The gunfights sounded like they were happening outside of my house. Everything felt really real about the sound.
The development of the characters, mainly Revy and Rock, is pretty good for a 12 episode anime. In the beginning Rock was absolutely nothing much to the series, but after a couple of episodes, his whole character seemed to have changed. I mean, he was even able to stand up to Revy. And don't even get me started on Revy. She changed so much throughout the show, it was just amazing. The only bad thing is that we didn't see enough of Dutch or the computer techie, Benny. Other than that the characters were great.
I enjoyed this anime. There were a lot of good action spots. I think my favorite episode was episode 9, when the maid that kills a lot was chasing the Lagoon Company through the streets. I just thought that was really well done and it kept me tuned in. This was a very good anime. I think if there was a story behind it and a couple more episodes I would have liked this anime more. Other than that it was really good and deserves a look. read more

Shikabane Hime: Aka is an anime that deals with the issues of death and life in an interesting manner. However, despite some of this anime's strengths, there were weaknesses littered throughout this series.
The main thing that the story gives is uniqueness. After being murdered, Makina Hoshimura turns into a "living corpse". Armed with dual sub-machine guns, she must kill 108 other corpses in order to gain entry into heaven. She is assisted in this task by Keisei Tagami, a Buddhist priest with links to an anti-corpse group known as the Kougun Cult. The setup of the storyline is rather unusual, and there have not been many anime that look at a living corpse working together with a living person to try to destroy other living copses.
The animatioin was very decent. Each character had their own distinguishable look. The background was very well done and the action scenes are pretty good as well. Gainax is known for creating some of the greatest animation in the industry, but in this anime the art didn't deliver what it could have. Something the animators did very well was creating the mood with the dark animation. You couldn't help but feel scared in some scenes because of the dark backgrounds. Gainax did very well in creating atmosphere.
The opening theme was very, very good. Other than that the sound was meaningless. I don't remember the sound being a big factor in the anime.
This anime seems to focus mainly on Ōri and Makina. There was only one character that I truly liked, and it was Makina. She is the main character and a contracted "living corpse". She is tasked with killing 108 corpses to gain entrance to heaven. She has formidable physical skills and her weapon of choice is an Ingram MAC11 machine gun. Makina starts slow but develops faster than Ōri and by the end of the season she becomes a great character. The main male character, Ōri himself, was really annoying at points. Ōri Kagami is a normal high school boy who was raised at Keisei Tagami's temple. He coincidentally appears at several points where corpses appear and the reason of this is unknown. Ōri is a bland character that slowly develops as the story progresses.
I didn't really enjoy this anime. I kept looking at the time and wanted it to finish faster. It wasn't all that bad. It was pretty confusing but there were a couple episodes that were really good.It was a pretty decent anime. Nothing special but decent. read more

Akane-chan Overdrive is a two volume manga by Mizuki Kawashita that is for all fans of gender bender mangas.
Story- (77/100) The story is something that I have never before experienced. Nineteen-year-old Takashi Amamiya dies after tripping on a bottle but is transported into a body of a cute girl, Akane Hagiwara. Amamiya goes through various trials and tribulations dealing with, being a girl, getting his body back, and dealing with old and new friends.
Art- (87/100) The art is very good. There isn't many sorounding images but the characters are all drawn amazingly.
Character- (70/100) This is probably the weakest point to the manga. You really can't figure some characters out. Takashi Amamiya seems to change personalities without a reason and the other characters aren't really helping. The only character tgat I feel for is Satoru Murai. I personally can relate to him the most.
Enjoyment- (73/100) This manga was enjoyable. There was a lot of things in this manga people would enjoy, and I don't mean the rape scene.
Overall- (77/100) This was a good ecchi gender bender manga. The art was what made me read the whole manga and the story helped out. What most people will probably not like about this manga is the characters. It is pretty enjoyable and is a must read for all gender bender fans. read more

First of all +Anima is a great manga for anybody that loves great artwork and awesome characters. It isn't for everyone becouse there isn't a lot to the story and there isn't a lot of action.
Story: The story received a 7/10 because it wasn't all that special. The four main characters,Cooro, Husky, Senri, and Nana, walk around the world of +Anima in search of a true home. This doesn't sound all that special but it is because on their travels they encounter villains and friends alike, as well as other +Anima which makes the story a little more interesting.
Art: This is what I think is the strong point of this manga. The artwork a amazing. Everthing is drawn to it's fullest. The characters are drawn perfectly. I really think Mukai Natsumi did a wonderfull job with his artwork. You will fall in love with the art.
Character: This is another strong point to this manga. Each character has strong points and weak points, likes and dislikes. At the end of a chapter Mukai Natsumi usually has character charts so you can compare all the characters together. Most people that read this manga will probably be able to relate themselves to one of the characters. This manga also doesn't just focus on the four main characters. It also focuses on supporting characters that Cooro, Husky, Senri, and Nana meet on their travels. So if you can't relate to a main character you probably will to a supporting one.
Enjoyment: Enjoyment only got a 7/10 becouse I personally am a shounen type of guy. Even with that this manga was good and kept me tuned in.
Overall: Overall this manga was very good. What made me really like this manga was it's artwork and characters. They were both amazing. The story wasn't as great but it was original so that made it special. While reading this manga you can just sit back, relax and be ready to be taken into the world of +Anima. read more
