About Me
Just got into anime a couple of years ago, because I had nothing else to do during the pandemic. Prior to then, I didn't really care for anime, I thought all anime was cringe shit for weebs lol. All the shows I knew at the time were Dragon Ball, Naruto, Demon Slayer, etc. basically all the most popular shows. I personally felt they weren't for me, so I didn't bother to waste my time with the medium. However, that was until I watched Hunter X Hunter, which was the one that started my newfound appreciation for anime. I loved everything about it, from the story, the characters, animation, etc. which made me want to watch more like it. And even though now Hunter X Hunter's no longer a favorite of mine, I will always hold it in high regard. Currently, my favorites as you can see from my bio, Eva, Spirited Away, Millenium Actress, etc. have now made anime/manga as one of my favorite mediums. It's between anime and live-action as my all-time favorite. If you're interested in discussing anime or film, that would be great, I love discussing both.
MY FAVORITE ANIME/MANGA
In Text Form:
Along with having absolutely stellar direction with well-defined and developed characters. Having some truly amazing moments that engulf you into its immersive reality, a favorite has to resonate with me deeply on an emotional and personal level. It means something personal to me. It's special. It just "clicks" with me whenever I’m watching it or done watching it.

And thanks for the follow on lb! I've followed you back, you've garnered a pretty impressive watchlist of films - nice!
Love your taste in animanga and film and it’s nice to meet you :)
I definitely agree that the visuals are stunning; I actually heard somewhere that the mangaka had some sort of connection to the field of architecture, which is why the landscape and various spires and similar structures are so intricate and beautifully drawn. I guess the messages of existentialism and meaninglessness and monotony of Killy's journey just didn't really resonate with me the way similar works did. Maybe I'll give it another try someday, but thanks for your perspective!
And yes I do have Letterboxd but I don't use it often
Starting the new year with Blade Runner wasn't exactly planned but it turned out to be a good thing cause I thoroughly enjoyed it to some degree. I'm sure this has been said countless times but the setting and the world in which Blade Runner takes place is what really engrossed me in the film for the entirety of its run. I don't particularly think the underlying narrative and characters were as strong as the rest of the film. I'm sort of in the middle. I don't particularly tout Blade Runner as this brilliantly crafted and well-written film, but I appreciate the aesthetics, the vibe, and the feel that Blade Runner was able to bring.
And yeah, I plan to watch the sequel for sure.
Followed you back on Letterboxd. I've had Taxi Driver in my watchlist for a while now. What's the appeal to it? I see that it's in your favorites.
I made a letterboxd account not too long ago since I just started watching film. Most of the films you'll see from my letterboxd are anime films or childhood films.
There was a good amount of time spent on abysmal films...
