Shinkai Makoto's New Movie Hoshi o Ou Kodomo Announced

According to Cinema Today, Shinkai Makoto's new anime movie "Hoshi o Ou Kodomo (Children who Chase Lost Voices from Deep Below)" was announced to be premiered in 2011. A trailer will be streamed on Yahoo Japan on November 9th.

Synopsis:
Asuna lost her father and lives a lonely life listening to mysterious music coming from her father's crystal radio. One day she sets out for a journey to see a boy again. Through the adventure, she experiences a parting and finds the cruelty and the beauty of the world.

OMG, I've just heard of this movie and I'm already totally excited!!!!

I just hope that this time he manages to put a good story together since it looks like as if this movie actually has a story and is not "slice of life" only like "5cm per second". The place promised in our early days was rather disappointing in the story-telling departement.

Holy crap, how'd I miss this news update? Makoto-san's work is awesome! =D

Has the same art directer and animation directer as 5cm, as well as the guy who made the music from all his recent movies, as well as the ef series.

This is definitely going on my Plan to Watch list...as soon as someone adds it to MAL! =)

Wha...a new Shinkai movie and I haven't heard about it for 2+ months? Can't wait ^__^

I'm expecting a lot, and from what I've seen, the artwork's gonna be breathtaking as expected, and the movie's probably gonna be amazing. But I wonder if it can top 5 cm/s...

I've waited too long for this, def'n holding high expectations. Shinkai mentioned that a major theme is going to be "distance" like 5cm so I'm expecting another gloomy/melancholic movie. Although 5cm was a success, Shinkai and his work is still minor/underrated so I hope this will be the movie that puts his name up there, at least to the same lvl as Tokikake & Summer Wars. cant wait

Excited! But from the trailer it looks like it'll be taking more of a Ghlibi route than a 5cm one. Resemblance to Tales from Earthsea(?)
