Yep, that synopsis sure is very Shinkai. It doesn't sound overly interesting in concept, but I have faith that I will be surprised by the actual end result.

Eagerly looking forward to this!

Synopsis is not overly attractive or anything of the sort, but I have faith that Makoto Shinkai will take this project, too, to the next level! It’s nice to see the Art Director of Kotonoha ni wa here too, we’re definitely in for a sweet treat of glorious animation too! I really hope some more soothing Radwimps songs will also be played in this upcoming movie!

Hoping it'll be as good or even better than Kimi no Nawa.

Wow. Another Makoto Shinkai Movie, can't wait to read rhetorically written dialogues. It has been a while since any movie has left an impact on me. Really hoping it would surpass Garden Of Words quality. Although i must admit, at first i got the "The Place Promised in out early days" vibe.
Synopsis is a bit idk not so appealing till yet, let's see how Shinkai Sensei does his magic this time around.

The wait is going to be really painful.

I'm looking forward to seeing this. Your name was great, despite it's many plot holes. Whether it's good or bad, at least it'll be nice to look at.

Visually appealing. Storywise? I don't know for sure until I see a trailer.

Looking forward to this, hopefully Shinkai himself feels at ease going into these because with Your Name being such a massive success hopefully the pressure to create something equal or surpassing that doesnt weigh down on his shoulders.

I similar scenario will be Psy after gangnam style, old reference i know, but in interviews after that he did comment on the pressure now that eyes were on him all around the world

nevertheless looking forward to this, definitely going to watch this is cinemas even if it means going on my own

More Shinkai is always a good idea! <3
The synopsis doesn't sound too innovative, i guess comparisons to Your Name will be unavoidable, but we'll see.

Strange plot. I want to see more Shinkai non-sobrenatural works, like Byousoku 5 Centimeter and Kotonoha no Niwa.

Definitely won't be as big as Your Name, but it's still going to get a lot of attention like all his films.

Also, it may just be me but the premise sounds really...bizarre, even for a Shinkai film. I'll hold my judgment off until it comes out, but at the moment I'm not expecting much other than the typical overworked production values.

I think he has realized that those type of movies just don't work with the anime community.Just look at the rating of 5cm/s,there is just no end to the drop of its rating.

Lol watch this take the number 1 spot and cause another shitstorm like Your Name.
I'm no special story or anything. I'm just a manga that wants to be read, like you could find anywhere. But, if, for argument's sake, you were to adapt me into an anime series, it would certainly be....a tragedy.

That poster is beautiful. And with the power of weather manipulation, we're sure to see a wonder of different seasons (sunny, stormy, snowy, windy).

With Shinkai, his artwork is so beautiful that at times the story in his films becomes unimportant. So I look forward to this.

The Byousoku's case is because many people were disappointed with the end. They were expecting a happy ending. That ending is so hard as real life and anime fans are often childish when things don't end by way they fantasized.

So, who wants to bet that it will ultimately be about the distance between people? I've never seen someone rehash the same theme so many times. I do enjoy his works, but every time I watch a new one I feel like I've already seen it before. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong in the end; I'd love to see him tackle something else.

Lame title but I cannot wait. At the very least this will be a visual masterpiece but I trust Shinkai will create something great.

The synopsis sort of has a Place Promised mixed with Your Name feel. I wonder if this will be a full-on 90+ minute film or a shorter film.

True. I also hope Shinkai makes another movie like that. Something that focused more on the real-life aspect, beautiful and bitter at the same time. I do like Kimi No Nawa but not as much as Garden of Words or Byousaku.

All his works involve weather in a way or another, and I like this fact. I'm not sure about the plot yet but I don't doubt Makoto shinkai's abilities and imagination, and I can't say much about a movie I haven't yet seen. But I'll say one thing : I will never compare it to "kimi no nawa". As much as it holds a special place in my heart, it's just unfair to compare "Your Name" to his other works. I believe that each Movie is a special case, a special world that needs to be looked at and rated individually, if I may say so, without making a connection to another world that it's completely different, in terms of characters, story line, atmosphere, music, value and significance.. basically everything. That being said, I'm so hyped for this movie !
