After more than 20 years, we have gundam seed the movie in next year, but imagine if shinn and lunamaria join this movie, it will be a great story

I've been waiting this movie since I was in collage. I thought it will never happen for so long. I'm glad with this news.

Kind of felt like there was nowhere interesting left to go, I suppose they can talk about the space whales though. Kind of hope that they'd at the very least make Shinn an antagonist in this one, seems like the least they could do to achieve a sensible character dynamic with him and the rest of the cast.

I guess it's at the very least interesting to see how the monopoly on power which Kira achieved in the last entry played out. The world building in Seed always favored the power of eugenics, I guess they could explore that.

Better late than never, LOL. I remember when this show's fanbase was rabid.

Dont let internet shitflinging fool you, Seed isnt infamous its high and far the biggest property to come out of the franchise in the past few decades and it still carries an absurd level of influence in japan. It kind of became this cool to hate thing in western-speaking territories but its a massive property that the franchise will probably never come across again.

The only reason we didn't see the cosmic century become a new UC like they were trying was cause of real-life health issues with the series writer that eventually cost her her life that has delayed this movie for many years and

Well, I'm exaggerating of course, it just intrigues me that right now G-Witch is essentially their only all-new non-UC content in the franchise.

Aus have been fading out relevancy in the 2010s. Those who were hoping g witch would be able to run long got their dreams crushed when Sunrise pulled the rug underneath and rushed the series.

Goes to show anitubers hyping up Gundam despite having no experience and not watch uc or knowing the hierarchy of aus are poor reference point.

I expect g witch stuff to now mainly be p bandai and them not get much of fancier non hg releases. Sunrise really jumped ship fast with the series.
Do you think that they could continue and develop the show further than now?

Finally some animation. This has been 17 to 18 years in the making.

I don't think this was made in reaction to their recent series, it's just that they have some animation and art they can show their audience now, and one series has finished.

I thought the sequel was a dream since it was not really mentioned in the MAL news.

I hurriedly contacted a friend who had watched the TV series in real time and we both confirmed that it was not a dream. It took longer than expected to make the movie, but I am happy to say that I will be able to see it next year.

We promised to go see the movie together if our schedules allowed.

Gundam has really entered the Terminator Effect phase if people are willing to give a second chance to scapegoats from the franchise's past after the new anime. I actually like IBO and I don't think G-Witch is a "shit show" but even Sunrise seems to feel like they need to get back to their roots.

Seed seems to be pretty infamous and I haven't seen Destiny yet, so maybe it really is at the level of Valvrave, but it still sounds better than melodramatic orphans from Okada Mari or sodomites from Mercury. Both Gundam and Frontier produced some awful garbage in recent years, so I'll take even rust from 00s mecha.

It is about damn time. The new au wfm practically tore the mecha fandom in half by bring a ton of toxic yuri shippers that ironically don't even buy the kits.

Seed has always been the king of aus with the best designs in the franchise and a captivating story on race that still applies today. I do hope they can give it a western release

Jul 2, 2023 8:14 AM by icefirestone23

I like seed decent enough and destiny was awful but not enough to kill interest in this, so fuck it im down. I do just hope they dont try to build up more of this universe I'd really rather move onto a new AU entirely than trying to build out existing ones, and personally cosmic century might be my least favorite setting of the AU's cause even with all the designer baby drama its just too copied from UC to really stand out to me.

lol after 18 years? the final arc is here eh

Jul 2, 2023 7:25 AM by deg

Okay, I'm actually down for this. SEED might've been the first great mecha shitshow, but it's gonna be worth seeing for the Sahashi music and the MS design alone. And of course how far will Kira go in his Jesus ways.
