The official website of the Fate/strange Fake: Whispers of Dawn special anime revealed additional cast, staff, the theme song, and a preview video on Saturday. The anime is set to broadcast in Summer 2023.

Shun Enokido (Manga de Wakaru! Fate/Grand Order episode director) and Takahito Sakazume (Princess Connect! Re:Dive Season 2 episode director) are directing the television anime at A-1 Pictures. Daisuke Oohigashi (Mahoujin Guruguru (2017)) is handling the script, and Yuukei Yamada (Fate/Apocrypha) is designing the characters. Hiroyuki Sawano (86) is composing the music.

The special anime adapts Ryohgo Narita's action fantasy light novel, which originally began as an April Fools joke on Narita's homepage, titled Fake/states night. It was presented as a prologue and introduction to a role-playing game. The second volume of TYPE-MOON Ace reissued it as a stand-alone novel form under the title Fate/strange Fake in January 2009.

Kadokawa began publishing it through its Dengeki Bunko imprint in January 2015, featuring illustrations by Shizuki Morii (Fate/Grand Order: Zettai Majuu Sensen Babylonia). The seventh volume went on sale on March 10.

Type-Moon concurrently began releasing a manga adaptation by Narita and Morii digitally under its Type-Moon Books imprint the same month as the light novel, with Kadokawa publishing the print version. The fifth volume was shipped on February 10.

- The animation producer was busy with Engage Kiss
- The director was involved in Chainsaw
- A1 pumping out a bunch of shit (Aniplex being Aniplex)
- The team also have to pump out a short CM like every month or so

Yes, all that, it really should be TV series with 24-26 episodes! Archer is Gil of course. Also don't understand why he was listed as other here.

Also, who put the "other" Archer with Tomokazu Seki's voice on the MAL page. The Archer listed here is Gilgamesh. Already requested removal.

nah its a big delay so there is clearly a production schedule problem

but when it comes to talent or time in terms of production then talented staff matters more than production time and this show got great talented core staff that can draw really fast and make less drawing mistakes helping the production quality a lot

The fact that they delayed a special, from the end of a year to summer of next year shows me that there are some production problems with the planned TV series thats ahead.

Its just one special, why such a big delay ?

So this 7 min is what ended up being completed and the rest are just in the SB/KA stage?

Enokido directed my favorite Fate CM, so saying anything less than I'm extremely hyped would be an understatement.

The pv was really cool, really nice nearly 7 minute pv. Looking forward to seeing this when it comes out, bit of a long delay but that's fine. The animation in the pv was pretty good, I think the art style looks cool, The theme song was also pretty cool. They've probably got some other plans for this after the special episode, wonder what those will be.

Summer.. That's a long delay,
Hoping for something good, for (supposedly) one of the best Fate/ spin-off.

Given the PV, I have hopes that it's a series. Might be a movie, but it really doesn't seem like it's just one special episode.
