that moment when you get a "new story rejected because there is already a thread about it" several days later, even though you submitted the story first. i mean sure, my submission was just a few sentences talking about the show as well as a link to the youtube promo and this one is better laid out with info about the cast and what-not. I'm glad my translation of the story was helpful, despite not receiving any credit. anyways >_>

Finally! Sunrise going back to its roots and making PEAK Idol Anime again!

...They already went back practically to their roots earlier this month with Doan, though. Remember, Sunrise has been a thing since the 70s, LL has only been a thing since last decade. I get you being hype but it's objectively not their roots.

This is a rough translation of the story as written in the official website.
I gave a second, more liberal translation for the first sentence that sounds more natural.
Criticisms and comments are welcome.

Notice that 幻日 means parhelion, but is read the same as 現実 - reality, actuality. as such, maybe there's a play in words here.

Story

みんなが知ってるあの子の、みんなが知らない物語ーー。
lit:That girl everyone knows, [and her] story that nobody knows.
lib: The girl everyone knows and her untold story.

海と山に囲まれた風光明媚な港町”ヌマヅ”。
The scenic port city "Numazu", which is surrounded by the mountains and the sea.

幼い頃から周囲になじめなかった少女ヨハネは、街のみんなと距離をとって暮らしていた。
Since [she was] little, Yohane didn't wasn't able to get along/fit in with others and spent her days keeping a distance from everyone in town.

私のやりたいこと、私の本当の居場所、それはー。
What I want to do, the place I truly belong. That is - .

素直になれない少女と歩む、あなたの知ってる不思議な世界。
[You] walk along with a girl who's unable to be upfront with her feelings, [towards] the mysterious world you know.

『幻日のヨハネ -SUNSHINE in the MIRROR - 』
『Yohane of the parhelion - SUNSHINE in the MIRROR -』

いま現れた、もうひとつの太陽。
It has appeared now, one more sun.

Hi, it's me from the future.
なじめなかった is the negative, past potential inflection of なじむ, and as such instead of "didn't get along" / "didn't fit in", it should be "wasn't able to get along", "wasn't able to fit in".

Let's go to the isekai.

This was the last thing I expected from a Love Live announcement but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited. Genuinely curious how this will turn out.

Hate moe? Seriously? Much of the hatred towards various isekai and harem shows comes from the moe/CGDCT community. To the point that some of these people perceive these genres as a kind of competition with all-female titles for audience. The same people constantly complain about male protagonists and think that any male preference for male characters is self-inserting.

The problem is that apparently when people don't like a certain genre, complaining about its continuation is something completely normal and cool, but when it's their favorite, then any milking is already acceptable.

Relax, I'm not trying to start anything, just stating what I usually see, you're taking this way too seriously. A lot of your post history seems to just be talking about how people hate isekai, why should that matter? As long as you like it who cares what other people think? Kinda unreasonable to generalize as entire set of anime fans because a few people from that fanbse didn't like your favorite genre. (see: me a moe fan who likes isekai, and the person above me) You're an adult, part of growing up is realizing that people will annoy you or dislike your favorite things and there's nothing you can do about it and there is no use dwelling on it. *shrug* not going to be derailing this thread anymore by replying.

Why is it that every time you talk about part of a group, people start complaining that you're generalizing everyone? I didn't say anywhere that all LL or CGDCT fans hate isekai or Kaguya.

Ngl, I've never seen that, honestly the main people I see who hate isekai are the same ones who hate moe idol shows as well, and are the ones who enjoy "super deep psychological 2edgy4u" shows lol, no need to get upset I was just confused as to why you brought up Kaguya. I would probably be annoyed as well if I saw something like that, oh well, what can you do. It's nice to know people complaining online about stuff, especially on western internet, can't do anything to have an actual impact on the show.

maybe i'm an exception, but as someone who likes cgdct shows, i don't mind isekai. heck, i found some isekai shows enjoyable as well. princess connect was amazing and i plan on watching the slime series sometime.
i think this has less to do with a certain fanbase hating on another, but more of some obnoxious people in a fanbase being, well, obnoxious. you can find such people in every fanbase.

Well, it mostly comes from the part of people who are overly involved in yuri shipping and as a result have a very negative attitude towards male fantasy characters. No wonder when it comes to all-female isekai, or yuri harem, they immediately forget about their hatred for these genres.

The thinking of people who are obsessed with yuri shipping in straight romance and constant complaints about male protagonists works approximately the same way.

Talking about the fanbase in general, I think most people don't care about it at all. As much as we love to complain about the normies, they are much more reasonable than any geeks on this matter.

People complain too much but has yet to point out that there's no "TV anime" being mentioned, it seems to be leaning towards ONA and catered more towards existing fans. We're not quite sure about the episode lengths and the number of episodes for these. The staff they got looks interesting, though.

So, you do not know the context of my comment, but you decided to answer anyway? Okay, I'll give you another hint - notice what popular idol shows are often among the favorites of those who complain about the existence of isekai or the announcement of a new Kaguya's anime. It's not hard, I believe you can do it.

I honestly couldn't stand Sunshine compared to the other seasons but the idea of this is just hilarious, definitely gonna watch. And we need more AU spinoffs of popular franchises in general lol.

In fact, the VN franchise To Heart 2 already did this in the late 00s, including releasing a sequel and several re-releases for different platforms. Also an episode of the series and several events in Bandori. Classic fantasy-themed content.

Well Kaguya is in your favorites so obviously YOU would be happy about it getting more media, just like how people who have LL:Sunshine in their favorites would be happy about it getting more media, whether it's milking or not lmao, fans of a series would be happy to get more media. I'm not even sure what Kaguya has to do with any of this
