'Mushikaburi-hime' Reveals Main Cast, Teaser Promo, Fall 2022 Premiere

The official website of the Mushikaburi-hime (Princess of the Bibliophile.) television anime revealed on Thursday the main cast, a teaser visual (pictured), and teaser promotional video. The anime is scheduled to premiere in October 2022.

Reina Ueda (Sekai Saikou no Ansatsusha, Isekai Kizoku ni Tensei suru) and Ryouhei Kimura (Mairimashita! Iruma-kun) are starring as Eliana Bernstein and Christopher Selkirk Asherald, respectively.

Tarou Iwasaki (Amaama to Inazuma) is helming the anime at Madhouse. Mitsutaka Hirota (Kanojo, Okarishimasu) is handling the series composition and Mizuka Takahashi (Kimi no Koe wo Todoketai sub-character design) is designing the characters.

The anime adapts Yui's historical drama series which launched on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in September 2015. Ichijinsha began publishing the novel through its Iris NEO imprint the following July, featuring illustrations by Satsuki Shiina. The sixth volume shipped on February 2.

Yui Kikuta began drawing a manga adaptation in Comic ZERO-SUM magazine in August 2018. Ichijinsha published the sixth volume on February 28.

J-Novel Club licensed the light novel and manga in English for digital release in February and June of 2020, respectively. The fifth novel and manga volume went on sale on last March and March 1.

I suppose one of the appeals of our genre is that we're like diamonds in the rough... Very rare 😂

But if you haven't seen them, some newer shoujos are: Ore Monogatari, Orange, Snow White with the Red Hair, Requiem for the Rose King,and (coming up) Tokyo Mew Mew

Very, very true! I'd love if they went the route of Chinese novels and dramas and used ancient Japan as a setting for a change...! But I forgive Bibliophile Princess, I like the art in the LN and manga ❤

Not particularly impressed. The image presented alongside the original announcement had a fairly unique style, but that seems to be entirely lost with the adaptation.

Those middle ages, knights, princesses, blonde princes, white horses, victorian clothes shows/LNs are certainly a thing in Japan, arent they.
