Subaruichi originally serialized the action adventure manga in Ura Sunday magazine and MangaONE application from December 2014 until December 2020. Shogakukan shipped the 20th and final volume on March 18 last year.

Shogakukan Asian licensed the manga in English in November 2015 and released up to volume 8, which was released in July 2018.

Synopsis
Far to the north of the world lies Hell's Gate, a portal formerly used by the Demon Lord to invade the human realm. Thanks to the legendary hero Shion Bladearts, wielder of Excalibur, and his loyal band of companions, the Gate was sealed off and the demonic threat was vanquished.

Unfortunately, the seal was incomplete and has begun to weaken, allowing the demons to once again begin their attack. Worried about the safety of his village, selfish and perverted farmer Touka Scott dig pitfalls to defend against the demons. But fear not, for Shion is on his way to reseal Hell's Gate and save humanity!

Or at least he was, because the legendary hero is dead, having fallen into one of the pitfalls Touka dug. Luckily, dealing with the dead is the specialty of necromancer Anri Haynesworth. While she can't revive him, Anri can at least salvage their quest by forcing Touka's soul into Shion's rotting body and dragging him along to Hell's Gate in Shion's place. Not wanting to be left behind, Touka's childhood friend Yuna Yunis tags along. Together, the three of them set out as what just might be the most unsuitable party to ever try to save the world! Ahaha. I've been obsessed with adapting this for over 5 years since I found out about this manga. Weird feeling.

First Onimai and now this. I'm eating good lately with anime announcements of manga I've read and love. Didn't expect this one cuz the manga ended some times ago. I can't wait to see its hilarious characters and thicc thighs again in anime format.

So, a complete adaptation? Since the manga has already ended.

Well, I can't find anything actively wrong with it, so I guess it piques a little attention. I'll wait and see what actual footage looks like.

I'll be honest, I've never read the manga, but I think it's going to be interesting because it's one of my favorite genres, can anyone tell me about this? should we hype this up?

I wouldn't say to overhype it, but the manga is definitely a fun ride. Somehow, EVERY character is a joke character, and yet the action scenes are still legitimately badass and the tender moments can hit you in the feels.

Oh wow, i think i should watch it because seems fun, i liked comedy too ahaha, thanks for telling me this.

Ah man, I literally just finished this last week! Super excited for this one. Here's to hoping Himejima Akeno/Kobayashi Rindo's VA voices Diana.

Been wanting to read this manga for a few times already (since it ended not too long ago, especially), but I guess I'm gonna wait for the anime first. Lidenfilms doing this too, just like Yofukashi no Uta, huh?

Oh pog! I read this manga last year and it's great, was such a fun ride, and kinda long as well, considering the 200+ chapters ahah. Prepare to see a ton of kneesocks and thighs of the highest caliber ^^ Curious to see how they are going to adapt this, hope it doesn't get overly censored, kekw.

PS: just give me Diana animated and i'm a happy man

Nice didn't think this is actually getting an anime. One of the funniest manga I've in recent times. But also worried that this will get a Shuumatsu no Harem level of censorship.
