The official Twitter account for Libre Publishing's Kurofune imprint announced on Monday that Tomoko Yamashita's Sankaku Mado no Sotogawa wa Yoru (The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window) manga is receiving a television anime adaptation.

Synopsis
Shy bookstore clerk Kosuke Mikado has the ability to see ghosts and spirits, an ability he wishes he didn't have, since what he sees usually terrifies him. Rihito Hiyakawa, an exorcist whose supernatural powers are as strong as his social graces are weak, doesn't seem to fear anything, mortal or otherwise. When this odd couple gets together to solve the bizarre cases that come their way, their work methods may not be entirely safe for work! (Source: Sublime Manga)

Yamashita began publishing the supernatural mystery manga in Magazine Be x Boy in March 2013. The manga ended in the latest issue of the magazine on Monday. Libre published the ninth compiled volume on September 10.

VIZ Media licensed Sankaku Mado no Sotogawa wa Yoru in English under their SuBLime imprint in September 2014, and has published it since March 2015. The eighth compiled volume will go on sale on March 23, 2021.

A live-action film adaptation starring Masaki Okada (JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken: Diamond wa Kudakenai and Gintama live-action films) will premiere in theaters on January 22, 2021.

Does anyone know what sort of direction this anime will go in? I don't mind bl but if the premise is only that they have a lot of sex and stuff and it isn't too focused on the detective side then it's probably not for me. Would anyone be able to help me out?

It's been licensed in English, but looking at pages from the manga, it looks very dated. Wouldn't be surprised in the story and characters have dated BL tropes, as it was first serialized in 2013.... BL manga has become so much better in recent years.

I will admit that some of the better BL I've read, aren't from long running series consisting of multiple volumes. you can't really do an TV anime adaptation of a BL that is only 1 or 2 volumes long

Maybe this is really popular in Japan? hence why it was picked up. Or it could be because of how long running the manga has gone on for? idk. I just think there could be so much better BL manga choices to pick for a TV anime adaptation

Agreed! There are better BL manga to pick from that would make great anime.

Look interesting! I love mystery shows a lot so this'll be a cute lil treat with some romance on the side.

Right on the tail of the the live-action adaptation.

While yaoi is not my thing, I hope the romance is a good one.

I haven't read this one but I'll give it a try. The "SUPERNATURAL" word is picking up my interest!

Wondering if this one deviates from the Japanese animation industry's typical portrayal of gay (sexual) romances..

I read a bit of the manga and it was fairly dull, but at least it's not another BL in high school.

i'll do the big ol' skip

The manga is on my to-read list, I'll probably end up watching the anime first.

YEAAAHHH, MORE YAOI. YAOI SHALL CONQUER THE WORLD!!!

Speaking rationally, it s mystery, so it s always good, and supernatural, so I really want to watch.

The description made me think of Natsuyuki Rendezvous at first

This is getting an anime as well? As if the live action trailer hadn't already made me want to read the manga so badly. But, I can't seem to find the manga anywhere.😢

supernatural BL yay

Never expected that after its live-action. More mystery anime is always nice.

Giving me some Jeweler Richard vibes minus the fact it's supernatural. Looks neat.
