'Battle Athletess Daiundoukai' Franchise Gets New Anime

The official website for web magazines Comic Ruelle and Comic Jardin announced on Friday a side-by-side anime project for the newest manga in the Battle Athletess Daiundoukai (Battle Athletes Victory) franchise, Pale Blue Dot: Battle Athletess Daiundoukai ReStart. The anime is currently in production, but a release date has yet to be determined.

The news was announced with the release of the prologue chapter for Pale Blue Dot: Battle Athletess Daiundoukai ReStart in Comic Jardin. The manga is a reboot of the original series penned by Rui Takatou (Mikarun X, Tetsuman: Tekken Comic). Chapter one will be released next month.

Battle Athletess Daiundoukai is an anime and manga series that began in 1997. The original manga by Yuuki Nakano was serialized in monthly Dengeki Comic Gao! from May 1997 until November 2008. Shufunotomo compiled the 22 chapters into four individual volumes.

A six-episode original video animation was released alongside the manga from May 1997 to June 1998, and a 26-episode television anime aired from October 1997 to March 1998. Both were produced by AIC and feature the same premise and characters, but the television series is a retelling with changes to the plot.

Someone who haven't even watched Battle Athletess Daiundoukai sure seems to thinks he knows best =P

Me on the other hand acutely have watch the old Battle Athletess Daiundoukai and it was very Yuri strong

So I dont need to "convince" myself of anything

Not saying the new one is going to be a Yuri.But the old one are so I do have some hopes for the newer version

@Yuri-Crusader There is no need to convince yourself. Hiring Takatou Rui for such a job is tantamount to request for Chikatilo to write a manga about little girls. This will at least have big ecchi yuri bait.

@FMmatron If it will be at least partially also lewd and gore as the standard work of this mangaka, then I'm not sure that this can be shown on TV at all, lol.

They can still tone it down and there was already a TV series in the 90's.

The original was the standard fabservice-ish 90s all-female show. Of course, Takato Rui belongs to the old school ecchi action authors too, but his standard style compared to this is as "Team A" and "War and Peace".

The grils seem to have nice legs. I might check it out. Whether to continue it or not depends on production values.

Yes many of the strongest Yuri also have the sports tag

I haven't even heard of this anime before I stumble over this thread .But I did watch the first episode of Battle Athletess Daiundoukai last night and it was gay as hell =) So if this new one is going to follow we are in for some fierce competition and a lot of lesbian sweetness,,,YEEEEEES

I'm really curious how it will turn out as I loved both the OVA and the TV series.

@MegamiRem It seems it'll be a new story set in the same world.

The story of the sequel manga is set in in A.D. 5100, 100 years after the original series. And according to the author Takato's tweet, no descendants of the original series' characters are planned to appear.

Personally, the first thought that came to mind is that the cover photo looks incredibly mediocre. Sailor Moon-esque which really isn't my thing sadly but I'll keep an eye on this nonetheless.
