Voice Actress Shizuka Itou Announces Divorce

On her personal blog, voice actress Shizuka Itou revealed that she is now divorced. She announced her marriage on the same blog in December 2012.

Itou shared the news on Thursday, April 30, but stated the divorce occurred some days prior. As she was preparing for it for some time, she assured her fans it won't impact her daily life, and asked that they watch over her while she continues to do her best in regard to her work.

Her career in voice acting began after enrolling at agency Ken Production's training center in 2002. Her popular roles include voicing Akeno Himejima in High School DxD, Hinagiku Katsura in Hayate no Gotoku!, Lenalee Lee in D.Gray-man, Koko Hekmatyar in Jormungand, and Rindou Kobayashi in Shokugeki no Souma. Itou is also a singer, having performed numerous anime theme songs and released her own music. She debuted outside of anime with the mini-album "Devotion" on April 21, 2010, which peaked at 54th on the Oricon Albums Chart.

I know I'm coming late to this, but with the sudden marriage of Japanese voice actors lately, it's sad to see how she divorced. She's one of my favorite voice actressess ever (and one of the firsts I remember liking), so reading this breaks my heart a bit.

Really wish the divorce was at least civil, eight years living together is a lot of time. Anyway, I hope she's able to find love again in the future.

Well, I do hope that the ex-husband did the things very well think. Because how could he such an beautiful and nice women like she is let go. I had fight for this marriage, he didn't deserve her then at begin already. The one positive thing that we could take, that they didn't have child/-ren. Because it'd be more worse the situation for all parties.

I do hope that Ito will find sooner or later (but hopenly sooner) an soul mate that he her respects and till to live end loyal is, and they together a happy family could be.

I remember that i despised her a while ago and kind of skeptical about her due to being typecasted for only sexy but useless characters. But eventually her voice on Kaori Kanzaki changed my mind. Also she's getting different roles recently and just started to growing on me... Then i saw the news right now, idk what to say... hope she moves on as soon as possible...

2020 seems the worst year for the seiyuu industry.
