'Zombieland Saga' Anime Series Receives Sequel

Production company Avex Pictures announced a sequel for the Zombieland Saga anime series on Saturday. The sequel, titled Zombieland Saga: Revenge, was announced at the franchise's Zombieland Live: Franchouchou Minna de Orabou! in Saga event in Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture.

The event also announced that the series' best album, Zombieland Saga Franchouchou The Best, will be released on November 27. The album will contain the anime theme and insert songs, the in-play songs previously bundled with the three Blu-ray volumes, two new songs by the idol unit Franchouchou, and an animation music video of one of the two new songs.

The 12-episode anime series, jointly produced by animation studio MAPPA, Avex Pictures, and mobile game developer Cygames, premiered in Fall 2018. Crunchyroll simulcast the anime with subtitles, while Funimation streamed an English dub.

Megumu Soramichi (Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry) launched a manga adaptation on Cygames' Cycomi website last October. Kodansha published the first volume on February 22.

Synopsis
Sakura Minamoto dreams of becoming an idol. Unfortunately, reality hits her like a truck, and she dies in a sudden traffic accident. Ten years later, she wakes up in Saga Prefecture, only to find herself a zombie with no memory of her past. While still coming to terms with her demise, she meets a man named Koutarou Tatsumi, who explains that he has resurrected her and six other zombie girls from different eras for the purpose of economically revitalizing Saga by means of an idol group. Assuming the role of an abrasive manager, Koutarou begins scheduling events; the girls go along with it, eventually deciding to name their idol group Franchouchou.

An absurdly comedic take on the idol genre, Zombieland Saga tells the story of Franchouchou's heartwarming struggle to save Saga Prefecture while hiding their zombie identities and rediscovering their past lives. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

i did not know that Cygames is part of this shows production committee lol thats like weird considering they did Shingeki no Bahamut which is more serious stuff

EDIT:

i just read the wiki page of Cygames and they also own The Idol Master franchise so ye its not out of character for them as a game company to have another idol property like this

They don't own the Idolmaster franchise, they just worked on a Idolmaster game. Bandai Namco is the one who owns Idolmaster. Incidentally, they also own Love Live as Sunrise is their subsidiary and Aikatsu as Bandai is their subsidiary.

ah ok thanks for the correction
