TV Anime Adaptation of 'Kono Yuusha ga Ore Tueee Kuse ni Shinchou sugiru' Light Novel Announced

Publishing company Kadokawa announced a TV anime adaptation of Light Tuchihi and Saori Toyota's Kono Yuusha ga Ore Tueee Kuse ni Shinchou sugiru (This Hero is Invincible but "Too Cautious") light novel on Wednesday. The series will be produced by animation studio White Fox.

Synopsis
Goddess Listarte, the savior of the super hard-mode world Gairbrunde, summons a hero to her aid. The hero, Seiya Ryuuguuin, holds the cheat-rank status, but he is ridiculously cautious. For instance, he would buy three sets of armor: one to wear, a spare, and a spare for the spare. Beyond keeping an absurd amount of item stock, he remains in his room for muscle training till he reaches the max level and fights slimes at full power just to stay on the safe side.

The adventure fantasy novel has been published on the Kakuyomu website since June 2016. Kadokawa began releasing the series under its Kadokawa Books imprint last February with illustrations by Toyota (Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu). The fifth volume (pictured) will go on sale on November 10.

Kadokawa's Dragon Age monthly magazine will serialize a manga adaptation by Koyuki (Log Horizon: Nishikaze no Ryodan) beginning this Friday.

Have not read the source but if this keeps the story light and fun, no retarded love triangles or 'serious' harem plots, then we will definitely have an AOTS contender.

It IS quite light and fun but at some point the story becomes downright depressing and super dark. Still keeps the funny elements, but the overall tone heavily shifts from lighthearted to to really depressing, at least in my opinion. It felt even more depressing than Made in Abyss to me if that is any reference. But depending on the pace of the anime the story might not even progress to that point or it might end just when it starts to shift. I really love the source material btw. :)

That's what we thought about Zombieland Saga at first. But we still loved it when it got serious, didn't we?

Looks fun. Hopefully it will be mostly comedy without any attempts at "serious" story.

Oh, seems like Yukari Tamura will be voice acting the main character!
(She also voiced Togame from Katanagatari, which I absolutely adore)
Definitely looking forward to this one, I have high expectations for anything White Fox does

Well this looks like an easy and fun show to watch. An overpowered hero who can never be too overpowered and will never underestimate the weakest of his opponents. "And an absurd amount of item stock." I wonder if he's going to be one of those guys who never uses an Elixir...
