'Golden Kamuy' Adds More Cast Members

A special stage held at this year's AnimeJapan on Saturday has announced additional cast members for the upcoming Golden Kamuy TV anime. Additionally, the stage featured the series' second promotional video. The series will begin its broadcast on April 9 via Tokyo MX, Yomiuri TV, Sapporo TV, BS11, History Theater Channel, and streaming channel FOD.

Kouhei Nikaido, Youhei Nikaido: Tomokazu Sugita (Aho Girl)
Tetsuzou Nihei: Akio Ootsuka (Vampire Hunter)
Kazuo Henmi: Toshihiko Seki (Mobile Suit Gundam Wing)

PV

The anime is an adaptation of Satoru Noda's award-winning manga of the same title. It began its serialization in August 2014 in Shueisha's weekly Young Jump magazine. The series has received 13 compiled manga volumes with the latest released on March 19.

Sugita's sure doing some peculiar characters, lmao. About pacing, I'm not quite sure what they'll do. Henmi's introduced in chapter 37. They can reach that if the series is only 12 episodes, if they choose to do 3 chapters per episodes, which is absolutely doable. Some episode can easily adapt 4 chapters too. However, would Henmi really be a season finale thing?

I'm almost certain it's going to be 12 episodes, since the BDs come with a serial code thingy, and according to Amazon.jp, collecting [b]all three[/s] will give you some kind of slip cover for all the volumes (I assume). Each volume has 4 episodes and there's three episodes. Then 12 episodes total.

Sugita as Nikaidou? That's... unexpected, but fits? In a way. Still I'd prefer if he was voicing someone more handsome lol. But wacky character is good too.

First BD/DVD seems to contain 4 episodes. Is a good sign for more than 12 episodes? Cause usually they sell them in 6x2 packs, if it's 12 episodes.

This better be a 2-cour. Henmi appears like close to Chapter 40, yet he already has a seiyuu? Are they leaving out all the Ainu culture/cuisine stuff and just concentrate on the Abashiri convicts, or what?

I liked the PV for showing the theme song and a bit more of the cast. Besides, they did not show so much new scene. Although those that have already shown are very good.
