One person asked why it's selling well, and here is the response :

そりゃ、バカップルでいちゃラブなところだろう
他のラノベはハーレムばっかりで、カップル物が好きならこれくらいしか選択肢が無い
いちゃカプ物もっと増えて欲しい
女向けだと多いけどな
Translation : Well, it's due to the lovey-dovey idiotic couple point in it.
Other Light Novels feature mostly harems, so for people who love couples, this is the only option available. Wishing for more lovey-dovey couple genres to be made. If it's aimed for female readers, there's plenty of them.
My Comment in response to his post : Indeed. But some male readers like me also likes Multiple Couples settings in my Fantasy Action series/stories, so hopefully there will be more LNs like Kenja no Mago in the futute with a Multiple Hetero Couples settings than Harems, Reverse Harems, Yuri Harems or Yaoi Harems.
3 people or more having romantic feelings on the MC reeks of overdoing wish-fulfillment delusions, but with the rest of the cast focusing their romantic feelings on not just the MC, but towards other characters, makes it seem more believable and realistic, and more entertaining ( from my opinion, since my experience from watching harem shows is that they're all boring, since such shows lacks a "Object of Comparison" or Hikaku Taishou in Japanese.
A man like me truly views an object of comparison for myself in another man, so a harem show where all girls likes only one male, lacks that aspect, since there is no 2nd male present that also gets his own harem too, so there is no other friendly rival male to act as an "Object of Comparison" 比較対象 for the male MC.
But with Multiple Couples present, we can compare the MC's relationship with his girl to other male characters who also gets their own girls, to see the varied and myriad differences in the entertaining and funny interactions between all those differing couples, which is something that is absent in shows where all the characters likes only the MC.
It should be like Kenja no Mago, where I'm reading to the point where there are 3 normal boy-girl Hetero couples present in MC's group, including MC's own. Heck, even the Main Antagonist in the story is paired with his own loyal woman on his side ( Her name is Milia or something ).

The fact that Hiatus x Hiatus can sell this well despite being hiatus just show how good it really is. Can you imagine how much Hiatus x Hiatus can sale if it's not because of the hiatus.
The sales really would not be significantly higher or be much different. Someone who has 20+ or 30+ volumes wont all of a sudden stop buying new volumes just because the volumes takes long to come out, its a collection habit.
Take game of thrones or other books taht takes forever to be release, not matter how long they take people will buy them because they are huge fan of the series, and because they want to collect all volumes.
I don't know where people get the idea that consistence equals big increase in sales. hxh simple has a dedicated fanbase.

Nothing amazing about that tbh, it just means the series has a dedicated fanbase, collecting 30+ volume and to all of a sudden stop buying newer volumes just because they take forever to come out seems more ridiculous to me.
And the most important point is Tankōbon volmues are extremely cheap in Japan, which makes all these praise and surprise, even more underwhelming.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to undermine the sales of hxh, because its per volume sales are impressive and it is the 3rd best selling manga in terms of per volume sales, its just that people always make a big deal out of something, that is normal.

SasuMago ( Sasuga wa Kenja-sama no O-Mago-sama desu ).
Now I can't wait for the Anime to see Shin, Cecily, August, and Maria in action, along with the rest of their colorful bunch of comrades with distinctive personalities ( There are no Tsunderes in Kenja no Mago ).
