Short Web Anime Adaptation of 'Tales of the Rays' Announced

A livestream broadcast that celebrates the 22nd anniversary of the Tales of franchise held on Saturday has announced that the latest game, Tales of the Rays, will get a short anime. Titled Tales of the Rays Gekijou, the short gag anime will be available online in 2018.

Tales of the Rays is a Tales of smartphone game series that released this February. The game also features main characters from past series. Wit Studio animates the opening animation to the game. The announcements also include the release of the final chapter with the current main characters: Ix Nieves (CV: Natsuki Hanae) and Mileena Weiss (CV: Haruka Terui), as well as a new arc with the new main character Korquis (CV: Kouki Uchiyama).

Though I guess it makes sense to just make it as an special which is fine. I don't think its a bad thing.


Yeah, its pretty nice to see past tales characters making jokes around each other.

Em I am not familiar much with this but this could have been a full series rather than an short (from what I'm getting here). Just saying.

Though I'll keep an eye on it so.

The event was a huge disappointment.

ufotable has new projects in the future but we got this instead. There wasn't a new game that was worth mentioning. (well, there's a new mobile game if you're a fan of those) Not even a port from some of the older games.

But why not a full series? The last adaptation was quite successful, even taking into account the absence of "traditional" romance.
