It has been announced that Masao Ohtake's Hinamatsuri (Hina Festival) will receive a TV anime adaptation for Spring 2018.

Synopsis
One night, a strange object falls on the head of Nitta, a member of the yakuza. Inside the box is a strange young girl named Hina. She has tremendous supernatural powers, and Nitta finds himself reluctantly taking her in. Her powers can come in handy for his yakuza business, but he also runs the risk of her using them on him! Not to mention, if she doesn't use her powers, she will eventually go berserk and destroy everything around her. Nitta and Hina's strange life together is just beginning... (Source: MangaHelpers)

The series is drawn by Masao Ohtake that began its serialization in June 2010 via Enterbrain's Fellows! magazine, and still continues after the magazine changed its name to Harta in 2013. The series currently has 12 compiled volumes in print, with the 13th volume scheduled for release on September 15.

I heard plenty of good things about the manga. I am definitely going to watch this anime. :)

I might start reading the manga too since the anime will be arriving on April next year anyway. :P

I read things about it being similar to Gintama, something that doesn't have me too hyped tbh, I hope it ends up surprising me.

other than boke tsukkomi style and exagrated expression, i don't find it particulary same... maybe equally funny...

OH DEAR LORD!!!

I, no jokes , just finished this series (so far). And this has a lot of potential, the manga overall has many issues that take away from the humor (like lackluster character art and weird dialogue)...whilst reading it, I kept thinking to myself how the polish of an anime production could make this quite a classic, due to the nature of the events being fairly removed from what would be considered common anime cliches.

Even if part of the plot gets a bit too ridiculous to my liking sometimes (Hitomi and her whole OP loli bs)-- but having Anzu and her whole Arcs animated will make up for that.

I was attracted to it expecting Mob Psycho 100, but instead I got cute , even with the bad designs, girls doing harshly realistic things that don't even make sense in Japanese Society, so do suspend at least part of your desbelief.

While this seems really cool, I think it's only fair to be healthily skeptical. I'm waiting until the Studio and Director get announced to be hyped about it. Always nice to see original stuff get greenlit though.

I remember reading this manga very long time ago..yes its been 3 years last time I red this(yeah that time I wasn't mature so I couldn't understand the story :\ )

Anyway, finally this manga coming back into animated format :') so far I remember the weirdness of the manga that approved my HYPE.

YESS!!!! My favorite manga actually got adapted <3!!!

Argh! Everyone is so lovable in this manga. Hitomi is best girl though while Anzu is best daughter!!

MAN! They're going to end around chapter 47, don't they? If they do, please be two-cours, please!

I just want to see more Hitomi and Anzu T_T

Also, Kaguya-sama when? I know Grand Blue would be hard to adapt with all the under-aged drinking with the laws and all, but maybe they could use Oolong tea for the censorship, fans of GB would understand that.
