No, they're part of the reason why a lot of folks despise dubs but FUCKERYmation & c:o mostly have themselves to blame.

Moving goal posts now, are we? And no, that still doesn't necessarily make one a weeaboo, the same line of thinking when it comes to subs ruling and dubs drooling can be found in sub only countries as well but I have yet to see anybody claim that sub only nations automatically are globalist mongering countries.

K bye

Most of the dubs Animaze produced were good or decent and they had a good reputation despite the fact that muh the evil dub companies apparently ruined everything. So, still not an argument. Also, we've already been over this, hating dubs doesn't automatically make one a weeaboo.

I would never buy an indie game I don't like so that comparison doesn't make sense.

Lel animaze dubs don't compare to Funimation dubs, they are good but the others were shit. Most dubs for old shows like NGE are pure cringe, that's why many old viewers refuse to watch dubs.
Hating dubs doesn't make one a weeb, sucking the Japanese VAs dick and typing comments like "all English voice acting is bad kek" makes someone a weeb. At least you admit that there are talented English VAs out there so you aren't one of them tbh. Anyway this conversation isn't going anywhere...

@Cyborg_Icarus29 If there is not enough of a demand for your product then you have to try and find a way to create it by making your product more appealing, that's capitalism 101 for you. It's not the market's fault that not enough people are interested, it's FUCKERYmation's & c:o's fault for not being interesting enough.

naaah it's the old companies fault for ruining dubs and producing a shitload of garbage in the 90th and i blame weebs who refuse to support english voice acting even if it's good. "FUCKERYmation" have done a phenomenal job with most of their modern dubs but they aren't a huge company and they can't produce FMA:B quality dubs and bring troy baker and crispin freeman for every single show. if you want good dubs then support the dubbing companies, it's that simple. if they don't produce good stuff AFTER they get support then go and spit in their face lol. you remind of the people who want indie games to have the same high quality game mechanics and graphics as the big AAA games without supporting the indie developers lol.

@Comic_Sans not really, it is not bullshit. if there isn't enough demand then they won't bother with putting enough money or effort into dubbing small unknown series. btw these actors left because there they don't get paid enough and the reason why they don't get paid enough is because there isn't enough demand for dubs, it's that simple really. i'm pretty sure most companies would bring their A game and produce good stuff all the time if people were more open minded about dubs and if they have enough support.

@Cyborg_Icarus29

That's a bullshit excuse, good dubs of foreign animated media (including Japanimation) have been produced before and have been well received despite les evil dub haters ;( that apparently lure in every corner.

And what do you think has happened to those voice actors? That's right, almost all of them have left the anime dubbing industry and entered the domestic cartoon industry instead because the American anime dubbing industry has nothing to offer them.

Which is still a shit implication, so my point still stands.

I want the kind of quality that I hear in standard American cartoons, it's not a difficult concept to grasp.

Lol that's won't happen with every single dub because there isn't enough demand or budget and most companies don't want to take risks because people will shit all over their work even if it's good. I mean Funimation and aniplex have improved a LOT and people still shit on their best dubs (FMA b, steins gate, space dandy, durrara, fate zero, hellsing ultimate ect) for no freaking reason. These dubs were acted by experienced actors (J Michael Tatum, crispin freeman, Laura bailey, Troy Baker, Ian Sinclair) and many other good VAs and directed by experienced voice directors so I don't see why you don't like them. The voice acting in these is on the same level as many good American cartoons.

You wrote "lol you weebs can go and get fucked". That implies that everybody who said something negative about dubs in this thread is a weeaboo, despite the fact that accusing someone of being a weeaboo because they don't like dubs is like accusing socialists of being nazis.

I have checked out some of their dubs on sites that aren't Youtube before and my opinion didn't change one bit.

No, that implies that people who dislike English voice acting for the lulz and generalize are weebs.

So your opinion didn't change,,, hmmm what kind of English voice acting do you want to hear in anime dubs? I mean seriously what do you want the voice actors to do? You want them to sound EXACTLY like the Japanese cast? Do you want them to overact so you can feel le emotions? If they tried to sound exactly like the Japanese cast people would complain that it isn't 100% natural, if they tried to act normally people would complain that it doesn't feel the same (no shit)

lel i hate to break it to you but aniplex's dubs are pretty good. they didn't "violate" shows like fate/zero , ERASED,Durarara and YLIA with their dubs.
the gintama dub is a mistake but don't compare crunchy's dubs to aniplex's dubs PLZ
And you necro this thread to tell me some random opinion that changes nothing of what I said and accuse me of being something I am not based on anecdotal evidence because?

I didn't accuse you of being anything lol.
>"because"?
there's no particular reason. I just wanted to say my opinion and tell you to check out Aniplex's dubs before leaving negative comments.
Brotip : don't watch some shitty YouTube clips because the sound quality is bad in most of them, download an episode from a good dual audio encode and check it out.

I hated AnoHana and that white haired chick's voice actress was god awful but I wish American anime dubbing companies could stop violating anime (especially anime that already have been out for years) with their shitty dubs.

The Gintama dub was a mistake and so is this dub probably going to be.

I have ZERO expectations

(Note that I specifically said ANIME DUBBING companies and not DUBBING companies as there are competent American voice acting companies and American voice actors but they usually don't work in the anime dubbing industry)

I'm not sure if anything can save the most dramatic parts of this show; they're too over the top. It didn't work with the Japanese dub and it almost certainly won't in the English one.

Still, Anohana was a pretty good show overall. Hopefully the dub will be good for the dub-only people.

I actually think the dub will be able to tone down the over dramatic stuff, since
voice acting in Japanese is almost always way over exaggerated, so in Anohana it kind of makes the melodrama even more eye-roll inducing.

I won't be buying this release, but good for the fans.
