Not 4.5 months after the last volume (as it is for SAO) they weren't. And Index has never been in the top 2 bestselling ongoing series in terms of sales per volume, whilst SAO is still comfortably sitting on the top spot of actual light novel series.

I didn't realize that this series is still going and doing quite okay. I still remembered that this was one of my first non-mainstream anime along with Oreimo.

Oh hey, look what we have here... The lingerie illustration in that volume is top-notch. Especially since both Kurumi and Kotori is featured in it! Although I've seen it on a Dragon Magazine scan... but at least this one has better quality and less words on top.

The volume was released on the 23rd ( Rankings cover 19-25 ) and even then it had a delay in the release according to the author's twitter so it had barely time to accumulate sales in 1-2 days of this week's rankings.

Okay I didn't even know that was a thing. Kinda curious what that's about compared to the main series

Edit: Well Google tells me it's seemingly a prequel side story about the Nivalen ancestor from the Great War era? Sounds interesting enough

Arifureta getting strong sales, like Slime. Another one that will get an anime soon.

Mushoku Tensei has pretty weak sales. It is the top novel in syosetsuka but it doesn't translate in sales like others.　I wonder why.
