The first time i saw kabuki on cable tv it was so boring and dull that i yawned a lot, though my big bro seemed quite fascinated about it. But hey, if rakugo shinju could make an obscure artform that i have no idea about interesting, maybe this series can do something about it and be more than guys dressing in creepy make ups.

Also, everything drawn by CLAMP is a must watch

Guys your comments disappointed me. I got exited that the pv actually had BL in it but nope.
Male characters exist. They LITERALLY exist.

Clearly it's unquestionably yaoi. I mean, there's not even an underage girl with her vagina hanging out on the front cover. Clearly it's yoai.

It wouldn't hurt to check this out. I always like trying new things..
There isn't a lot of anime about Kabuki so this can be refreshing ;p

@tingi Yes, it's not BL! No need to worry ^^ there are plenty of BL mangaka who did a non BL work! Tho maybe you will get some bromance vibes!

Yeah that LN cover definitely seemed like BL style art, and looks like the author has written some BL manga too. That being said, I don't think it's BL though? The first reviewer on Amazon said it's not, at least not in the first volume. But I mean it's kabuki, I don't think anyone should be expecting many female characters, if at all. Kabuki is an interesting topic though :)

The cover looks like something a BL mangaka would do..
INSTANT WATCH.

This sounds pretty interesting for me.

And more BL because why not.

The premise of this thing has me somewhat intrigued.

My life needs a kabuki anime, thanks.
I'm even more excited because boys start a kabuki club.

It looks like the author is a BL mangaka, it could be a shounen ai/yaoi anime *_*

The author uses the name 榎田尤利 (Yuuri Eda) mainly for her BL titles 榎田ユウリ (Yuuri Eda) for this work possibly non-BL.

Art style doesn't stand out immediately but more theatre-related anime is always good to see!

i was always interested in kabuki, maybe this will give me an excuse to finally do more research on it.

I thought Kabuki was a person and thought this was a really creepy yaoi series, but apparently Kabuki is a form of theater (which they're faces are painted like old japanese drawnings, if that's a good example.)

Now I can take a breather.

LIGHT NOVEL AIMED AT FEMALES WITH ART FOR FEMALES.

That's all I need. I'm sold.

@mogu_
Thanks for the better description! I've seen lots of other manga/anime with poor descriptions but are good.

Mod Edit: Removed quote of deleted post.

If it's just the summary thats causing the bashing let's try a slightly more detailed one?

sorry if the grammar is poor but here's a quick translation:

High school freshman Kurusu Kurogo (Kuro) grew up to adore Kabuki due to his father's influence, and wanted to join a Kabuki club. However there was no such club. "In that case, let's make one!" and so, not long after entering high school, Kuro went to his homeroom teacher and requested to make a 'Kabuki Club'. However the reception was not well received and the club could hardly even be considered as a Kabuki-lovers club. Even so, it was necessary to have 5 club members. Starting from his own glasses wearing childhood friend Tonbo, Kuro begins to recruit comrades. But the person he chooses to attack next is none other than his senpai Asagi, a guy known for his reckless behaviour in the drama club...!?

Muh. Like 2016 isn't enough with the sports anime. *rolls eyes*

I read a review earlier today about the series on another site (Goodreads) and heard was good.

There is nothing wrong with this novel, what wrong with you people? Time to start my work!
Look interesting and the mangaka is a BL artist! I like it, hope it's a bromance show because we need more.

Before posting bullshit, read here

Then how about bitching about how poorly the synopsis was written?

I think....i'l give this novel a try. Not entirely a fan of kabuki per se, but theres plently of series about some random sport/game that you may not like in real life but still make a really interesting story.
