A stage event at AnimeJapan 2016 has revealed that the previously announced continuation of the Arslan Senki (The Heroic Legend of Arslan) TV anime will air in July 2016. The new series will be titled Arslan Senki: Fuujin Ranbu and air on Sundays at 5:00 p.m. on the MBS and TBS networks.

The anime adapts the semi-historical manga drawn by Hiromu Arakawa, which is based on the light novels by Yoshiki Tanaka. Singer Eir Aoi will perform the opening theme song of the new series, while musical group Kalafina will perform the ending theme song.

I don't think they can conceivably go too much further ahead seeing how the source manga is still not that far along. I do hope there is a true followup series that covers more in the coming years.

But the original novels are way further along. shame only 5 episodes but I guess it can't be helped. Full sequel one day please .

Yea but I thought that when they were 'going ahead' of Arakawa in the anime, they relied on her story outlines given for the upcoming manga. I'd be worried of having a seriously divergent anime from the manga if they kept moving forward.

So is it 5 eps or not now?

Also in that picture, is he carrying Daryun's spear?

I think that's his own spear. Daryun's spear has a black spear. I feel like perhaps the spear is a euphemism for something, like Arslan growing some balls ;>

Looking forward to it

I really doubt it will be that short... it's probably 12-1 3episodes minimum, don't try to scare people without any announcement....

aaahhhh yess arslan senki♥ and it looks like he grew up a bit from the visual? a timeskip maybe?

Arslan looks great on The 2nd season Poster
Looks like he's going to do something at least...

and about 5 Eps...
I think it's good from one point...
at least we can hope that the medium visuals of S1 never happen again..
S-1 was lacking in technical visuals

Tbh I can't see LIDENFILMS make better quality even if there's only 4-5 episodes.

That's a Possibility...
But except CGIs I think they will improve Designing of characters and in-between Animations

Damn Arslan looks bad fucking ass....which is exactly what this series needs going forward. Not too familiar with the source material but I hope it's 24 episodes again.

Edit: Only 5 eps? Lame.

So it's not 5 episodes? I hope for at least one cour.

Hoping Arslan will start doing something in the sequel cuz most of his squad did the job for him in the first season. Yeah, you could have easily rename the anime into Narsus Senki instead. And Arslan was numerous times saved by his gang; hah, it once came to that point when even his falcon needed to save him. Yes, a bird. *facepalm*

Will watch only for Silvermask. He's the only character that won my sympathy and liking. I couldn't care less for the others.

Anyway, the key visual looks magnificent.
Eir Aoi and Kalafina will perform again - Great!

It's nice to see Arslan back, if only for a few episodes. Hopefully it will keep interest up and we'll get a proper second season next year.

By looking at the cover, i hope Prince Arslan will get actual character development.
I hope it will be better than 1st seaon.

Considering the writing style of both Hiromu Arakawa and Yoshiki Tanaka, Arslan will get the development. The question is only when but with this incoming few episodes surely will not produce that character development.

Too bad for Arlsan and Nanatsu, but don't they dare touch Gundam IBO S2 è_é

Mar 27, 2016 6:55 AM by vnusia

So, 5 episodes of Arslan Senki: Fuujin Ranbu and 4 episodes of Nanatsu no Taizai: Seisen no Shirushi means that the timeslot is open for September? I wonder what they'll do with that since Gundam IBO S2 is coming back in October.

Shorter runtime should result in higher average quality. Show was wonky at times.

Main problem wih the series was how one note all of the characters are. We'll see.
Tbh I can't see LIDENFILMS make better quality even if there's only 4-5 episodes.

Which makes me even more sad that they are going to do the new Berserk...
*sigh*

Apparently, mori (fansubber) said that the "日5" is just the 5pm timeslot on TBS and has nothing to do with the number of episodes.
