Seriously, why are MADHOUSE producers are so dick-heads? I just wanna punch them.
Western shows sickens me to death while my favorite shows don't get another season. Also, loved your statement! Yep, it's gonna be war if they release OPM S2 but I think the war will be outside JP :P

Thanks, k_s! I didnt know it was mainly sold from kyoani shop, since recently I read that free has sold somewhat around 650k novels. Thanks again! (btw that novel is totally getting an anime, it was the winner after all xD)

They are sold from various other retailers as well, so volumes can get on Oricon. The highest reported sales for any KA Esuma Bunko release to date is 26476 for volume 2 of High Speed (which Free is based on), from 7.5 weeks of sales. If you're right about the 650k figure then that should give you an idea of how underreported the sales are on Oricon (the series has 2 volumes).

With regards to the new release, obviously it didn't rank on Oricon. It wasn't on the POS rankings and book-rank.net didn't even bother to list it as unranked. None of Osakaya, Tsutaya, Honto or Amazon sell KA Esuma Bunko releases at all.
Tora no Ana does, but in only a few of their stores, and their ranking is only for the top 100 of all books (which in a week like this one would not be easy to get on). They haven't released the rankings for the week in question yet anyway, and the limited nature of the release means that the data wouldn't be truly comparable even if they did...
Those are the sets of data we have.

oh ok. Really informative, thank you! :)

650k isnt really concrete, I only took a fleeting glance on the article about free's financial report, but yeah I think this number is pretty close.

Hey I just remembered, but wasnt the kyoani grand prize winning novel also released last week? How did it do?

A large proportion of the sales of KA Esuma Bunko series come from the KyoAni shop, which (as far as I'm aware) doesn't report its sales to anyone, so there's no way of knowing.

There's a rumors about NGNL S2 being planned for next year. Ands I don't get your problem with MadHouse. A bunch of their series got more than one season. Don't you mistake them with BrainsBase?

I could name at least 4 MadHouse series that got second seasons and a bunch that got OVA/movie sequels.

Nope, it won't.

What series from Madhouse that got S2??
Chihayafuru? Kaiji?
Barefoot Gen?
They're from Manga NOT LN, basically Madhouse never make S2 Anime from LN.
Boogiepop Phantom is the first LN adaptation from Madhouse, and it's been more than 10 years since 1st Season, still no news for S2 just RUMOURS.

Nah, they must make Mahouka first than NGNL because Mahouka have More Profitable than NGNL, also Mahouka have more fans in Japan than NGNL, it's gonna be RIOT if Madhouse make S2 NGNL than S2 Mahouka.

LOL. It doesn't have anything to do with MadHouse itself or type of source. If some other studio made S2 of their LN adaptation or if there were official announcement from publisher "we wanted to make S2 of LN X but MadHouse bosses refused" than your comment could be legit, but it's not.

Anyone know what the sales this week where for Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry? I don't know about if these sites and stuff show the lower ranked ones.

It is a bit odd that it isn't on there. Series sales were 7k lower than the previous week, yet sales of the latest volume were >10k lower. This may be down to a late post-anime boost. It was 209th on the POS ranking, which is slightly higher than most of the things that are at the lower end of the Oricon rankings.

In short, it was probably just a few sales outside of the rankings.

I estimate Vol 1-8 altogether sold about 9k for the week and almost 5k for the previous week.

Looks interesting indeed.

Great! I knew it'd catch people's attention, and certainly not because of its long title alone but the potential goodness it may contain. Bet some people thought I was making a mockery of that LN. Pfft.. :3

hmmm... let's believe! x).

yeah... is not easy to work without source material

?
Volumes adapted in the first anime series : 3 (volume 1-3).
Volumes currently out that have not been adapted into anime : 5 (volume 4-8).
That's not the problem here.

as I explained before in a previous ln sales thread, there will probably never be a second season. Because as usual Madhouse messed up the adaptation, doing something they shouldn't have done, that make a second season (which would otherwise have been fairly easy) highly improbable imo.
They put the end of volume 6 at the end of the anime adaptation. Which means that a new season adapting 4-6 would end exactly at the same place as the first season.
Even if they try to rush or to skip volume 6 that is skippable (although that's the best volume so that would be very sad) to avoid finishing at the same place(note :they can't skip 4 and 5 at all), volume 7 is the beginning of an arc so it won't work, except if they want the second season to skip the best part AND be rushed AND have the second arc reaching the place madhouse adaptation ended at the end of episode 6 . That or ending the second season in a very harsh triple cliffhanger. (since that's how harsh is the end of volume 7).

So yeah, very low probability, so I would advise anyone interested in NGNL to read the novels instead. .
