I am really worried about how gintama is doing, isnt this a massive decrease from what the past seasons normally sold
i'll say something that' pretty important. Gintama has NEVER ever sold Blu rays of the tv series before.....so when you look at the sales always add the DVD and Blu ray sales together to give the actual sales. So they've actually sold around 6000 which is just under 7400 for Gintama Enchousen.
Yeh so not anywhere near as big a drop as you thought (also Blu rays cost more, so there's extra profit in that) :) I've kinda made myself less anxious now, because i was worrying as well haha
Edit: And another thing i realized was that Gintama 2015 volume 1 and 2 surpassed volumes of Gintama Enchousen in terms of sales. Volume 3 was only a little bit under, so i don't think there's too much to be concerned about :)

How sad ufotable didn't place the sex scene from the vn. right guys
No.
What's sad is that they wasted screentime on motherfucking dolphins instead of just fading to black and spending those precious minutes on Shirou actually being a person instead of a viewer stand-in.
Its also sad that half the Ufoubw is gross malegaze anime original ass shots of Rin instead of actual depth and complexity
Its also sad that I still bother replying to some of herd mentality vocal minority who spends all their days trying to defend that mess of a show by harassing others.

It is also sad that you don't realize Ufotable wasn't the one to make the decision to adapt the sex scene or not since they can't change anything without the original creator permission.
It is also sad the the fan of a show who is in the Top 100 became the vocal minority.

You mean the same people who bought Prisma Ilya 2wei Herz?
Difference being that that show did NOT sacrifice quality or adaptation faithfulness for sake of otaku pandering and most of it is limited to BD extras.
One can have their cake and eat it too. Something Ufo was too dumb to realize.[/quote]

Why, sure. Detalied preteen lesbian selfcest tongue kissing (with leg humping) is at the same level of a canon alternate ending and the scena of a an evil sorceress groping the ass of her female prisoner. Sure. Whatever gives you the kicks, dude.

Mind you I am not talking about the definition of Otaku the western audience have but the actual japanese NEETs, who could not care less about actual story and are in it for very specific creepy reasons.

Actually Utapri is there because of the gacha tickets you can get through buying the DVDs, IIRC. And because of the seiyuu fandom. Season 3 doesn't much much manservice (as I wanted).
Well it is the same for FSN and Love Live.
And waifus.
How do you even differentiate between a 'fanboy' and an 'Otaku' in the first place as it's essentially the same thing in the end. They want to buy the series no matter what, the price isn't a deterrent to these guys. F/SN is pretty much a brand name for the Otaku, so you would be wrong on that part.
The preferences of your average TM fanboy are VERY different from the typical Otaku.

The show clearly targets the latter and not the former.

Isn't that a standard sequel drop that happens to the majority of series with multiple seasons? The Monogatari franchise for example has lost nearly 50% of its disc-buying fanbase from from Bake to Oni and Gintama is way longer. Gundam, Love live, Utapri and the like are rare cases.
There's a blu ray version which has sold over 3k, so no the drop is not that sharp.
Gintama 14,640
Gintama' 12,575 ~14% drop
Gintama' Enchousen 9,465 ~25% drop
Gintama° (so far) 7,411 ~22% drop
Seems normal to me.
Let's compare to Monogatari (which is much shorter):
79,201 Bakemonogatari
60,709 Nisemonogatari ~23.3% drop
42,133 Monogatari Series Second Season ~31% drop

Yes, so they should adapt everything in this season cause I don't think it's getting another season.
If the movie didn't surprise everyone with it's sales we wouldn't even be getting this season.

I'm sad that Gakkou Gurashi is not in the list. :(
Gakkou Gurashi was out 3 weeks ago, and received a total sales of 3.4k by last week. It is kind of normal for a series to drop out of ranking by their third week of release.
