I heard this might adapt the first three volumes...

Well looking at the characters I assume it would be fairly probable

And the worthless clueless hater club is out in full force already :) ... my goodness.

I'll out myself as a big fan of the show first. Even as such, I would readily admit that the overall story is standard fantasy swords+magic school fare and nothing to write home about. Nothing out of the ordinary - if you generally like the setting, you will like Rakudai.

What sets the show apart from the rest are the characters. The male MC is a likable guy with a spine. Contrary to almost all of his colleagues, he is neither a clueless wuss (Ichika) nor an overbearing demigod (Tatsuya), and he does something flat-out amazing: He is pursuing his romantic interest actively and is getting somewhere with it. In fact... (major spoiler warning)

Stella begins looking like a standard Tsundere, but once her initial misunderstanding with Ikki is cleared up, she acts refreshingly normal. She still has a temper and spunk, but with a much bigger dere component and for her character type fairly amazing honesty, she's a joy to behold. If you like girls with grit, but hate the standard tropes that tsunderes seem to always be laden with, this is your chance to see something truly refreshing.

All things considered, this is a lightweight story with a very unusual and (for people like me) incredibly tasty seasoning. If you always despaired how the OTP of the story never seems to get anywhere, this is your show.

To be able to emphasize with people one needs to put oneself on their level, so I answer buzzwords with buzzwords. I also answer elitism with even more elitism. Therefore my strategy is perfect and I will never lose in the internet.

Was the PV screened at Comiket a different one, or was it the same as the one from the anime website?

Now that the thread has calmed down, someone who has read the LN can answer these questions for to see if this is worth my time:

The more yeses to my questions, the more likely I'll give this a shot.

Answers (having read LN vol. 1 and vol. 2):

Agreed. The story is very typical and has a very common setting but it surprisingly feels different to other alike stories and is very enjoyable to watch. Rather than OP, Ikki's considered as the weakest but that's also for a reason. He isn't over powered but he has a nice ability which he trained hard for.

He's not even one of the MCs. Do you want him to quit VA or what? lol

Yes, he deserves to be quit and get a new job.
Or maybe he`ll voice random fodder/background anime characters who always die in early episodes instead.

truth has been spoken.

What truth?

A kiss that lead to nothing besides Ikki still viewing his sister as a sister.
A minor character who doesn't reappear in the 2nd arc.

Seriously while i can understand people misunderstanding because of Shizuku since she's one of the three main characters along with Ikki and Stella but Ayase, that's the lousiest example in this series.

Her main focus was only in V2 and she barely even appear again after that. She merely showed her support to Ikki on his final selection battle with some of Ikki's friend in V3. Then she had a brief conversation with Oreki in V4, and that sums up her entire appearance in the LN. She doesn't even appear after that and people actually use her to say this is Harem. =___=

So we finally have the PV. Rakudai and AntiMagic Academy are some of the most different type of Fantasy, School and Romance series. I am really looking forward to both of them.

Let's also add Asterisk into the mist.

the show isn't starting yet and look at all these comments...how much if the if it started...if i guess the strongest will be at least from episodes 1-4

Eh, not a huge fan of the music in the "Preview 2" but I do have a headache right now.

The whole magic-user / non-magic-user kinda reminds me of Zero's Familiar. Here's hoping the girl is less annoying. I doubt it'll happen but I kinda hope the girl loses because that'd be a little more interesting to me.

I added it to my to-watch list but right now I'm cautiously optimistic about this. I'll probably watch this after it airs if it turns out to be good. I wonder how many cours it'll be?

It's all lies.

And yet it isn't , I swear MAl people with their fkin assumptions, you could just not bother commenting at all if its THAT generic to you you know, but wait, you must satisfy your attention needs first, all his answers are correct and the protagonist isn't dense at all, the only generic thing in this is the tsundere female lead but that changes before 1st volume even ends, so people who don't know jackshit about it shouldn't misinform others who are interested, it's called logic, and it's something you lose when your attention needs are over the top. stay classy mal

...the protagonist almost banged stella in the latest volume and u want it listed as a harem? The only other girl in the show is his slutty imouto, how can this be a harem? Read the LNs first and the act like smartasses, he literally makes her his girlfriend in 10 chapters what the hell people

Apart from the typical faggots in mal, I have to say good god damn job silver link, they adapted Ikki's speed perfectly, opening is good, ending will probably be epic as hell since its Ali Project, all looking good, people who are looking for a harem should drop this, you are not getting that.
