Manga 'Taiyou no Ie' Ends, Bangai-Hen Starting Next Issue

The fiftieth and final chapter of Taiyou no Ie was published yesterday in the March issue of Kodansha's magazine Dessert. At the end of the chapter, it was announced that a bangai-hen (side-story) will begin serialization in the next issue, to be released on February 24th. The first part of the side story will focus on Nakamura Hiro's co-worker Sugimoto, also known as "Radical."

The slice-of-life, romance manga series by Taamo began serialization in April 2010. On December 12, 2014, the twelfth volume containing chapters 45–48 was published and it charted 23rd in its first week on Oricon's manga rankings. The manga also won the 2014 Kodansha Manga Award in the shoujo category.

I have been following this one for awhile so I can say I wish I would have waited to marathon it. It drags too long in the wrong times. Horrible pacing.

I found out when the chapter came out and said next would be last :( IT HURT :( It was one of the few shoujo that I wasn't disappointed generally. But better that way, otherwise it would probably disappoint me like many others did.

I think it's ending at a good spot. An anime adaptation would be nice but I'm not sure how likely one is now that the manga is ending soon. I didn't mind Sugimoto but I'm not really interested in reading a spinoff featuring her either. Hopefully it'll be good though.

Haven't been reading the last few chapters, but I do remember really liking it (although yes Sugimoto was annoying). Well I guess the next time I read it will be the last.

Well, better to end it than to drag it out. :P

This'll give me a chance to check it out. And winning an award is not bad either. Baby Steps won the same year, so I'm hoping this shoujo is worth it too.
